Gub_Ni 09-08-2005, 06:04 PM Bronco85 gets my vote. Good specs, cool truck that looks like it gets used, and he's tough enough to live in Alaska.

Drivers side
*note* I have taken 1x1 angle iron and bolted it in from the top of the firewall down along the floor to behind the seat. I did this for two reasons..one, due to it being a good place to bolt the metal panels to and two, because it is so badly rusted that without replacing the pans and using a welder. I figured it would add a little integrity to these areas that are pretty shot. With this repair being bolted in opposed to welded it should flex pretty good...hehehe, instead of cracking the welds
with a little strip of street sign .. hehehe

Dave's Bronc 90 09-09-2005, 02:09 AM Okay, here we go.
My rig is a 90 Eddie Bauer that I've had just a little over a year, bought it bone stock. Here's what I've done to it so far, more or less in the order that I did it:
4" suspension lift
33" BFG AT's
dumped the sway bars front & rear
Rebuilt the 8.8 & installed Eaton E-Locker
Changed auto hubs to Warn premiums
Regeared to 4.56
Aussie locker installed in TTB D44
Dana 50 stub shaft
BroncoAir with 2.5 gallon tank
Built custom sliders
Installed a ridiculous electronics suite, including CD player, Sirius satelite radio, Garmin GPS, Streamlight rechargable flashlight, CB with outside PA speaker, small AC inverter, 3 jack DC power outlet, and a removable laptop stand. More electronic junk coming soon.
Here is the truck as it sits right this minute.
http://www.supermotors.org/getfile/242249/fullsize/DSCN2563.JPG

Look how beefy these Sky brackets are. I love it.

chambiec1 09-09-2005, 10:43 PM Marauder... you planning on lockers any time soon?
Marauder 09-09-2005, 10:50 PM Not really. My fundage is gone. I would if I could but I just dont see it soon. Also, if I ever did a SAS and or replaced the rear axle then it would pretty much be a waste of my locker.

They seem good for a MT. Havent had any problems with them yet. I suspect things like a little bit of chunking out of the side tread is expected with them. I do spin them a lot on the trails. I really have nothing to compare them to though.

Damager 09-11-2005, 03:10 PM Thanks Mike .. I am not too confident in winning .. when Bronco85 starts it will be all over .. the mud and the Alask background will win the votes, unless anybody cares about the work I have done myself
I appreciate the consideration though :thumbup

Dave's Bronc 90 09-12-2005, 01:30 AM Havn't had time to pimp much so far, my pimp hand has been out wrenching until the wee hours the last few nights. My neighbors all love the sound of an impact wrench at 1 AM. Sufice it to say that no project ever turns out as simple as you had hoped it would be. I didn't get her rolling on her newly lifted suspension as I had hoped this weekend, but here are some pics from Tellico to hold us over.
I seriously thought I was going to flop her over here, this pic was taken on the way back down. :doh0715:

And I wouldn't need recovery equipment if your Sami and bronco would make it up and down the trails.

Bronco85 09-16-2005, 03:12 PM I like that hitch idea. My your able to pull out the cross peice and flip it over. Which I did. It gave me about 3" more clearance and still allowed for some protection of the gas tank. One day I will raise that POS tank.

Chris85xlt 09-18-2005, 07:28 AM It's been a fun race this month. I just havn't had much time at all to whore. Since I'm leaving for a business trip tonight I prolly wont get anymore up for atleast a week. By then I assume Damager will have a commanding leaving on me :(
On a good note. I convinced my Girlfreind that she should help me fix my bronco and modify it this winter. Prolly Rhino line is and a little tube work for the fenders..
phill, FOTM is more important then ur business trip. stay home and whore some more

http://www.supermotors.org/getfile/133029/fullsize/camping%20july%204th-Dave%20068.jpg
Finishlinewest 09-18-2005, 05:07 PM After rebuilding the 8.8 twice I decided something a bit more in line with how the Bronco is driven off road was warranted.
So...I ordered a Currie 9" Prerunner Axle with 4.88 and an ARB air locker was just the ticket.

http://www.americanprerunner.com/100_1436.JPG
http://www.americanprerunner.com/100_1437.JPG
Then after blowing the motor I opted for more power, lots more so I ordered a Jasper NASCAR 351 stroker and asked for HP, TQ and attitude, the result is a 680HP small block.
http://www.americanprerunner.com/100_1438.JPG
Its going in this hole.
http://www.americanprerunner.com/100_1439.JPG
All this stuff is either going in or already in.
http://www.americanprerunner.com/100_1440.JPG
So as you can see it is busy days and sleepless nights at the shop.
BigNorm 09-18-2005, 05:50 PM Nice! How many spline did you go with the 9"? I'm sure you moved the air line from the exhaust. Also I hope the zip ties are temporary on the rear brake lines. The amount of goodies for that motor is dazzling. What will you have in it when done? 10K? more? :popc1:
Damager 09-18-2005, 05:59 PM nice axle

I had it made up by Decalkits.com.
Here is a link to right where I did mine.
http://www.decalkits.com/customdecals.html
Just type in what you want, font, size, and any "extras" then just order them up. I actually have 2. I have a matching one on the left side I guess I just dont have any pictures of the left side of my truck after I put them on :toothless
Oh yeah, I also made one up for the dedication to my dad on the back:
