about 500bucks cheaper. I bought it from http://www.cyberweld.com/ they have some of the best prices around and free shipping. they accually droped shiped via truck freight. it was here in a da, well supposed to be anyway, I wasent home to recieve it and had to dick around getting it rescheduled and not showing up yesterday but other than that it was quick.

The 210 is plenty of welder for me, the 251 is nice but really couldnt justify the extra money

That is really nice. I learned to weld on a Miller and have had a preference for them ever since. I've been looking at the 175 myself lately, but that one would be better. I know you're going to enjoy it.

sure for a deposit of about 1300 bucks :goodfinge

A hobart 135 110v I bought from keith L a while ago. Its done an awsome job and I taught myself how to weld with it. It started giving me trouble of poping the breakers and hitting the thermal shutdown so It was time to retire it and upgrade. Ive been trying to get a new welder for a while now and finally money allowed it, it was either a new couch or welder......as you can see I just couldnt live without a welder :toothless

I will probably end up getting the hobart repaired and using it for small jobs and/or portabilty

I had to call senko tonight and have him walk me through changing out the connecter to a twist lock stlye so I could plug it in. I just wouldnt have been able to sleep without burning a little metal with it first. so far I really really like how it welds, defently a step up from what I used to have

haveing your own chit makes life easier, as Im sure you have found out with your sas, always a pita to have to arrange having someone weld something or whatever. Thats a big reason I started buying all my own equipment. that way everything is at my house instead of having to drive across town to get something done. I figure it as an investment, This thing will last a hell of a long time so I wont have to buy another anytime soon, same goes for my plaz

I ended up buying a lincoln 175 mig, and thats been a good welder too, i havent had any problems yet, and it had been plenty hot to weld what i need it to. it laid me out about 700 for the welder, gaugues, and bottle. I figured I would add on a lil for those who cant afford the $1300 welder.

Put the Hobart in the back of the truck and just drive it around for a while. that usually fixes anything on them

I just steal the one (175) from work when i need to weld something. Since i am the only burner in the shop, i know no one else is using it.

I love my 210, it gets used a lot more than I thought it would. Same with the plasma. I agree that tools are free, get good ones. The pay back for things like welders and plasmas is a little longer in a home shop, but they do pay back. My one ton build had enough welding to pay for the 210, and almost enough cutting to cover the plasma.

Dustin

yeah i love my plaz. I remember the first project I used it for I about craped my pants. something that would have took at least an hour to cut and clean up took seconds with the plasma

How does that one work. The one I have only cuts through like 3/8" at the thickest and it isn't very clean

Dustin
09-16-2005, 04:56 PM
works good. I havet cut anything larger than 1/2" with it but I can cut pretty clean through 1/2just have to go a little slower

I've never really liked plasma cutters, I like using a cutting torch much better. I did have an old Airco plasma cutter that I used for a while but I kept going back to teh torch every time I had to cut something. I sold it to my old boss for $500

Dustin
09-16-2005, 10:05 PM
only thing that sucks is you cant heat up anything with it, stricly for cutting metal. thats where a torch his handy

That 40 CF tank is a little smaller than I was expecting I guess the ones my friend had were a 40 and a 80. I thought the 80 was a 40.

I wanna play with my new toy NOW! I gotta finish wiring the garage first.

congrats dude. I didn't want to say anything concerning 40 or less, but, I am so glad KL advised me to go bigger. The 80 is perfect for my use.

Think Assrammer!

I purchased that Hobart in 1999 or so, and learned on it. When I got my Lincoln 200 in 2002 I sold it to Keith L. to learn on. With the amount of stuff you have welded with it, I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did.

This is Great, Dustin Lives close to me, knows how to weld, has a new welder and has a plasma cutter and a torch. I have a ton of stuff to be welded, cut, heated and worked on in general. I think we could be friends, yes we could be good buddies. :beer :drinkbud :twotu:
