whats a a decent priced/quality notcher. I bought the 40 dollar one from HF a whule back, and destroyed it in about a day.. First the nut that holds the bit on stripped when the bit grabbed to hard. The the bolts that hold the "slide" on stripped out. Its a real POS and not worth 40 bucks

you have to be gental damon! Ive used the HF ones to build my cage and lots of sliders. Im just now finally on my second one.

you will have to pay about 150 for a decent one. protools has a nice one along with vansantent, also check out mtechsupply.com

I have the TN-100 from Van Sant, the HF are junk in my opinion.

I've aways liked the Low Buck Tools notcher. Not exactly what you'd call cheap, but it looks faster and safer than a hole saw type, plus you don't have to buy any hole saws.

I use one from speedway Racing. I'll try and get a link. It has lasted me and is still working great.

You can fishmouth with a chopsaw too... or anything else that cuts. Just get your angle and depth right is all...

I use the JD Squared tubing notcher too (TN-100 www.jd2.com). They are the manufacturer. Vansent, mtechsupply, and the others sell this one. Yeah it's around $180, but you get what you pay for. I've used the sh*t out of mine! The notcher from lowbucktools, is a shearing type and mostly good for perpendicular notches (not at angles).

Hope that helps.
