Atlanta went crazy last time due to the power outage in N.O. the two pumps getting petro up here were down and we ran out of gas. Panic ensued and people bought everything they could get their hands on.

Now they're preparing for it apparantly. I just went to fill up and they're already rationing. I couldn't get more than $50. It slowed down and cut off on me at 50. I was like, wtf. almost having a full tank after getting gas, it bugs me, lol. :toothless]

Thursday morning - $2.52 for 87
Thursday after lunch - $2.59
Friday afternoon - $2.69

But oh well, at least I didn't jack leg around like last time and wind up paying out the nose at over $3 a gallon. :banghead

Heh, I was at the time.

But this wasn't just a 'price' post...I found it amusing they're already rationing before it happens.

Can you say MEDIA INDUCED PANIC, I hate t.v. stations, last time they said there were two hour lines at the pumps, so on the way to my buddies i stopped to fill up, there were two cars at a station with 12 pumps, same way at the next 3 places. News people are stupid.

Did you use your ATM card?
If so, the pump get's a $50 approval from the bank and will shut down at that point.
If you only got $40 worth of gas, the other $10 is still on hold until all the electronic banking crap takes place (sometimes a few days) and then it's released

Thats what I was thinking. The RaceTrac stations here in Tampa cut you off at $40.00 if you use a Debit card and at $75.00 if you use a Credit Card. Just do like I do and stop then restart the pump and fill the Bronc.

Can you say MEDIA INDUCED PANIC, its not all the news, well most of it, but my dad delivers gas, he said they started putting gas stations on alotments again starting this passed monday and we're in VA

pay at pump here in CO only lets you do $50, unless you pay by credit up at the window. PITA. We have been over $3/gal for weeks now. i have even more affection for my 5.0 now.

One station near the office is like that with diesel, the guy always looks at me and smiles and says "deezel, top at pipdy" I told him that's stupid because at $2.63 just about every transaction is over pipdy. I stopped going there because that stupid fake "I'm ripping you off " smile pisses me off.

Yeah, but I've never had it do that before and have filled up on my debit card. The only time I've had trouble using my card is when I didn't have the $40 in my account. I just needed $10 gas to get home and had to go inside and they approved it that way.

Hmm.. Dunno. http://www.girlongirlracing.com/forum/images/smiles/thinking.gif

Are they really rationing then? Were there signs regarding max gals per purchase? it might just be a credit card thing.
i had to stare and read that 'deezel top at pipdy' for like a whole minute to figure out what that meant, even with the precise phonetic rendering.

Yeah, it probably is a card thing.

In that case disregard what I said, cause I'm an idiot. I'm female, so I guess I'm allowed...just this once. I just assumed since things went freakin' crazy here last time, that's what was going on because it's never happened to me before.

i wouldn't say that. you might be right! all the way out here in CO people are making a run on the stations. no rationing or anything, but there are definitely lines here and there where we can get discounts.

I wouldn't say you're an idiot either. They might have sarted rationing. I feel like an idiot when I have to restart the pump, without even removing the nozzle from the tank. The first time it happened to me I was lilke WTF????? What was really bad is when I restarted the pump I had to work to get $1.50 in. I know the $75 cutoff cause I hit that a couple weeks ago. Restarted and got $2 more in.

i hate that. i was heading to the hills for the weekend so i wanted a full tank. got stopped at 50, restarted the whole dang thing including the new stupid tv screens which try to sell me fuel addative at an obnoxious volume, and put in like another 3.40. i felt like dropping the nozel on the ground and dropping a match. go out protesting like a vietnamese buddhist monk.

I'm boycotting gas stations, but I still promote the use of gas. I am in for a rough week i guess.

i have to do that alot, it cuts me off at 60 bucks then have to do another transaction to finish filling my truck up. if they want to jack up the price at least raise the limit on the pumps....very irritating

the districts out here are bummin' cause fuel costs are taking a big bite outta their budgets. Firemen and police say they are in the same boat and have to quite driving so much, which really isn't possible I would think.

Yeah...I know gwinnett is closed. Lots more on the scroller at the bottome of the tv now. Funny thing is that this just means teens will be driving their cars all over town Monday and Tuesday.

I went and got gas a few minutes ago because of you guys. If it's not a lot higher tomorrow.... :goodfinge

yup, I have even had other stations do it to, kinda depends. I run pretty much QT gas in my F150 since they have decent premuim fuel. Thats the only thing about running a hot tune in it, I have to run 91 octane which is about 3.09 around here. I thought about lowering the tune but really its only a couple bucks to run 91 over 87 at 2.89 a gal.

Babe, I was gonna say that also, about your credit card. The first time it happened to me {Just like the others}, I was like WTF? Then I went inside and the cashier said "Oh you have to restart the pump". Just to squeeze out another dollar or so on my credit card. Man did I feel stupid :banghead

I agree, If the price of gas is up, then raise the credit card limit. I dont see anyone filling up their tanks for less then $60.00 bux anyway, no matter watt they drive.... :twak :twak :twak

As for the News, They were rumoring that by this week gas would be in the 5-6 dollar a gallon price range, if you can find it.

I saw gas being sold today for $2.79 - $3.09...... :shrug
