The governor of Ga has asked all public schools to close its doors this coming Monday and Tuesday to conserve fuel.So that means my kids get a long weekend.....Lucky them.
So far there hasn't been 1 school that says its not going to close.

After Katrina passed through, our school systems (Escambia and Santa Rosa counties) closed for a few days. The schools closed because there was no diesel to fuel the busses.

It wouldn't surprise me if they close again after Rita hits. The cost at the pump went up 25 cents today! People are hoarding fuel like crazy, and the pumps are emptying. No idea what the status of diesel is.

Being in college and all, its rather painful to fill up when it costs at least 100 dollars a tank

I can relate to that! I am a full time college student too. I no longer let the tank get past 1/2. It still costs me 40 bucks to "top it off". :whiteflag <--- I surrender to the execs making tons of money on this so called fuel shortage.

The college I work for is trying to get the employees to "conserve fuel" :histerica

I filled up my delivery truck ('93 Ranger--2.3, 5 speed) today and it'll be empty again by Wed. or so. The prez sent a memo around saying that the univ. got a delivery of 1500 gallons of fuel earlier this week, but they have no idea when the next delivery will be. :wacko

I'm convinced that getting a VW TDI and making my own biodiesel is the answer. Unfortunately, my apartment manager would frown on that.
