I've been meaning to ask, because I've read a few places that mud terrain tires perform poorly in the snow. Is this snow covered pavement? Or any snow in general? Do any of you have any preferences to tires for snow? I was thinking MTR's once I get new tires, because they seem to be a bit more all-terrain than the BFG MT's. Any and all input is welcome. thanks

The mud tires dont do nearly as well as a sipped all terrain will do in the snow.
For a while now my favorite snow tire has been the ProComp all terrain. I have had 3 sets and they are more stable and predictable in the snow than any other tire I have used.
For the type of winter we have here MTR's are hands down the best. We mostly have minimal snow fall but it freezes. Mtr's like that.
I will say they do work in deeper snow also. I live out of town and our roads have major drifts. They have always worked great.

BFG All Terrain T/A KO...the best tire on the market. I've used them in all kinda of weather conditions, including deep snow, and they never let me down. I'm on my fourth set that I have owned...I would't keep buying 'em if they if they were not so damn good. There is a reason you see them on every third truck in the 4x4 magazines...

I have M/T's and they do just fine in the snow...better than my last few sets of A/T's have on the road.
They do pretty well in the deep stuff too.

Thanks for the input guys, I think I'm leaning towards the MTR's.
