View Full Version : source for air psi gauges
plug ugly 10-02-2005, 11:23 PM anyone have any good sources aside from grainger? I dont have an account there any more.
Im looking for a PSI gauge thats about 1 to 1.5" diamter and reads from 150 psi and down. Wanted one in at most 5psi increments.
lightnin 10-02-2005, 11:25 PM I might be able to hook ya up.
Black and dry or White and Liquid Filled?

plug ugly 10-02-2005, 11:28 PM oooohhh, those are pretty nice. I like the increments on the white better, but need one thats gonna be durable. One will be going in the engine compartment for the on board air system, and the other will be part of this tire filling gauge creation I have created. Is the liquid one durable enuf to be dropped and bounced around? if not, do they make a dry one with those increments, or are these just a few gauges you had lying around?
lightnin 10-02-2005, 11:31 PM These are gauges we sell where I work. I believe if it is going to be bouncing around the Liquid filled gauge will work. We put these on Industrial size compressors from 10hp to 250-300 hp. Lots of vibration and no problems. As long as nothing hits it, it should be good to go. I think the white one runs about $10.
plug ugly 10-02-2005, 11:46 PM do you have a dry gauge like the white face? If not, for ten bucks each, Ill try the liq. filled.
thanks
lightnin 10-02-2005, 11:50 PM I'll have to check. I don't think we have a white faced gauge that is dry. Liquid filled would handle the vibrations better. Shoot me your zip and I'll get you a price plus the price of shipping tomorrow.

I wanna see a 300 HP compressor. Do me a favor and next time you see one get a pic and start a thread about it.
lightnin 10-02-2005, 11:58 PM Right now we don't have a 300HP machine in the shop but I believe we have the element and a 400 HP motor that hooks to it. I believe I can get a pic of that. Anything in particular you are looking for? I can give the camera to one of the service techs when they go out on a call and they can get a pic of a GA315 or a Z machine, which are Atlas Copco brands.

if you think the liq gauges will last in this application, then thats cool with me. White, black brown or pink, I dont care the color, just need reliable, durable and affordable with the increments of the white guage.
Thanks again for looking into it.
Larston 10-03-2005, 10:20 AM Plug, check with Northern Tool or any of the industrial supply houses. Kelley Supply has a site, McMaster-Carrr might carry them, Forney Industries sells a few small air system components. Grainger might still be able to help if they have a general account you can use. I use the cash account for the company I work for. I pay up front and the company never sees the bill.

welndmn 10-04-2005, 11:01 AM FYI, Osh and HD sell them too ;)
plug ugly 10-05-2005, 11:36 AM the one that HD had was lousy and made by "husky". It didnt have good increments either. IT was 8 bucks tho.
lightnin 10-05-2005, 09:38 PM Here ya are Plug. Grainger has some 5 micron coalesing filters. They are Speedair brand but I am trying to line out if they will work in these ARO seperators.
