Chrome, weights like 47 lbs. Max 08-17-2003, 10:51 PM Is that one of those useless bumper mount guards? gobucs 08-17-2003, 11:21 PM Yeah it is! :shrug Max 08-17-2003, 11:40 PM FYI for 93_Bronco: It's best to get a brushguard that mounts to the frame so it has better strength. A bumper mount will only cause more damage then what originally would've happened. I use my WAAG brush guard a good bit, it's a frame mount and I use it to escort my '86 Bronco in an out of the garage since the '86 doesn't run. I had a frame mount Smittybilt previous to the WAAG, the Smitty met it's fate when I ran it into an embankment at 25 mph. the brush guard saved the rest of the front end of the truck, but it did slightly bend the frame. But frame bends aren't too serious though depending on impact. A lot of bodyshops have precise high tech frame alignment machines these days. My recommendations for a brush guard are WAAG, SmittyBilt, or GO Rhino. :thumbup Damager 08-17-2003, 11:54 PM I gotta chime in on the frame mount thing too .... I had a 96 s10 ZR2 and I had a frame mount push bar on it .. I came out of a gas station and plowed broadside into a Suburu stationwagon that decided he was going to go straight instead of turn off like his blinker showed ... he went spinning around like 4 times total and off the road ...didn't even throw my alignment off :rockon poor basterd :histerica :chili: tractorcrusher 08-18-2003, 01:01 PM My frame mounted grill guard vs. front end loader. http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/cfowler007/RIPexpedition.jpg :( Accessory Man 08-18-2003, 02:32 PM I have the manik frame mounted grill guard, I like it, BUTT the mounts wrap the crumple zones on the frame rails. I plan on drilling and bolting through the frame, and bolting it to the bumper as well to get rid of the shaking, I also mounted my tow hooks to it so I need to drill and bolt the frame and grill gaurd to make those functional Bill@setel.com 09-08-2003, 08:06 PM I have a Smitty frame mount one-piece. I use my brushguard a lot to push broken down friends; I would highly recommend Smitty. If you inted to use it, go for the one piece welded, not the 3 or 4 piece bolt-togethers. Good Luck! Bill BikerPepe` 09-08-2003, 08:12 PM I have the USELESS style guard! :( http://www.superford.org/getfile.php?id=45807&toggle=fullsize&f=FordFront.JPG Someday it will make a nice place to put lights. :shrug :goodfinge :brownbag gobucs 09-08-2003, 08:42 PM Yeah, those useless cheap ones are pretty nice. I like mine but I am gettin a warn winch bumper for obvious reasons 93_bronco 09-10-2003, 10:30 PM I was planning on mounting lights on it, I wasnt planning on it adding protection or holding up in an accident. R94BroncoXLT 01-29-2004, 09:21 AM Does any one have some pictuers of where the brush guard mounts to the frame? I am building one and want to see how the bought ones are mounted to the frame. Thanks Bill@setel.com 01-29-2004, 09:47 AM Mine is the one-piece all welded Rino. I will see what kind of price I can get it for you. Then shipping...I think that would be the zinger. :beer Bill xbigbronco 01-29-2004, 08:59 PM i jus bought a westin frame mount for a later ford, and am making my own brackets as soon as my truck ceomes back from the shop...
