I have a strip of diamond plate, that fits in between my Bronco's tailgate and rear bumper. Only it is two tall, by about an inch or so. It was on there when my brother had a lift on it, then we had to take it off, once the lift was removed. Does anyone know what type of saw or fabricating tool will allow me to cut through it, without me having to take it to a metal works place, and paying for the same services.
I live in Ridgeland Ms, and if anyone near me that has a tool for this purpose, that would care to help me out that would be great!
Thanks alot:twotu:

well if your referring to the thin shiny aluminum diamond plate... you could take it to a metal shop and have them sheer it or you can use a jig saw with a metal blade just mark it and keep a steady hand... both will give a pretty good result, its pretty easy stuff to cut

now if your talking about steel diamond plate my first choice would be to take it to a metal shop with a shear as they can cut it straight and make it look nice... next would be a plasma cutter but they are expensive and you have to have a steady hand and then there is a torch which unless you are good (unlike me) will look like ass because there are many ways you can mess it up with it

depends on how thick the metal is.
A jig saw with a bimetal blade
a grinder with a cut off whel
bandsaw
plasma

Thanks for the ideas. Its not thin diamond plate, i think its the real stuff, cause its not easy to bend, its real sturdy. But I do not know that much about metal so I might be wrong. But Ill look around town for a place that can do it cheap.
Thanks

A sawzall is probably your best bet.
I use mine to cut through 3/16" diamond plate steel (not aluminum) all the time if I need a real clean straight cut that can be difficult with a torch or plasma. Use a good blade and it will move along about 2 seconds per inch of cut with that thickness.

If its aluminum that shit cuts like butter

I've cut the aluminum diamond plate with a circular saw and a fine tooth panneling blade. Loud as hell and threw metal chips everywhere, but cut real nice. Hearing and eye protection required.

you could also use a hand grinder with gold cut thin disk, its works pretty good loud as hell, draw a cut line first, wear safety glasses, and always always (use both hands on your tool)<<<<<<<words to live by.
