is there somewere on the web that has sheet metal for sale? all dif sizes and shapes, preferably pretty cheap.

How bout you go to your local sheetmetal/HVAC place and buy some of there scraps???

well i wish it were that easy, but if any 1 has been to the outter banks of n.c. then you would know it ain't as easy as that, especially during the winter, not a whole lot of stores like that, if any at all, and during winter there most likely closed if there was 1


not my damn fault i was transfered here, i keep picking places were theres good trails and lots of broncos and junkyards, but they send me to friggin rust capital of the god damn world, i change my mind every day whether or not i will do body repairs, i can never make up my mind when i keep seeing the locals vehicles, total rust buckets times 10, and trying to decide if its worth the hassle

THey dont do HVAC in NC??..... Thats kinda weird. I did not know that. Im in the dinkiest most sparsly populated state and the 3rd largest city in that state and there are about 5 HVAC companys. HVAC stands for Heating, ventilation and A/C so there is a use for them all over, even NC. The only thing they probably dont need is ventilation, just open up some windows and let the salty sea breeze in....

Are there any steel places in North Carolina???? Sometimes they carry sheet metal.

Are there any home improvement stores.... They carry it, although it has a higher likely hood of being galvanized, which isnt good for body work.

I just think buying sheetmetal off the internet is not the best idea

yea i jsut posted right b4 u did about the google deal, but you are probably right as far as the galvanizing, i just gotta find time to get to those places and check it out, alot of places around here close pretty early in fall/winter.

its a really up-to-date company- good service. check out the site to see if theyll ship up to you.
i know a marine based in reighley. hes coming down for thanksgiving- i could see if he could take a sheet back up with him...

Jug, contact BMG Metals (http://www.bmgmetals.com/) in Chesapeake, VA. I dealt with them a few years ago on a project, and will probably have to go back to 'em soon for materials for my new bed. They're good people, and they're within an afternoon's round trip of you if you have a little trailer. They can get you just about whatever you need, and odds are pretty good they have plain sheets of 16ga and 18ga in stock.
