So I have an 83 bronco and about 4 months ago I was planing on dove tailing it, but that went down the drain once I learned of the complexity of that project.:uhoh3 My new possible project is to put an 84 F150 cab on the frame and chop the bed to make it the right length.:scratchhe One of my questions is are the body mounts in the same place for the cab? My second question is is this a bad idea and is it do able or am I just crazy?:crazy Please let me know what you guys think.

Check out Larston's rig. hes runnin for F.O.T.M. right now. hes got a cab swap with a flat bed. its definatly doable as long as you can do some body work. The cab swap is not to hard(can be done in a weekend with a couple of buddies. the only hard part i can see about the bed is lineing up the wheel wells. may have to cut the front of the bed not just the back.

Definitely do-able, see Larston's. I'm in the middle of the same swap myself (87 F-150 cab, 91 Bronco), but mine won't be nearly as big as Larry's -- I'm sticking with half ton running gear and 33's, versus his 1 ton stuff and 42's. :shocked :thumbup

The front cab mounts are the same, and your doors and front bodywork will all swap. However, you'll have to build or otherwise conjure up a different rear body mount to support the back of the cab. I'd offer you pics of what I'm doing, but they won't be done for at least another week yet, since I'm doing a lot more work during this swap -- currently the only things bolted to my frame are two axles and a steering box, and the frame should get some paint this weekend after a thorough cleaning last weekend. Damn northeast trucks and rust.
