JahWarrior 11-25-2005, 03:32 PM What are extended radius arms?
Davids78Bronco 11-25-2005, 03:58 PM I've heard of em, but have come to classify them in the same category as the unicorns - mystical creatures. We've all heard of it, there are even stories about it, but no one's ever seen it
yogib 11-25-2005, 09:26 PM I dont have any pics yet but I have a few recommendations when building them.I would mock them up on the vehicle for one thing so there right. Mine are 15 inches longer than stock and have a threaded bung in the end for a future heim joint. Make a point to make some pre build measurements of your stockers at the bend so you know how far back to put the tire clearance bend so you can turn and not rub to bad. Also check your caster angle so you know how far to tilt the top of the ttb beam back when building the new ones.I believe it should be about 88 degrees back at the top. VERY IMPORTANT to get that right. I used 1 3/4 tube for the main tube .180 wall. Then I used 1 1/2 for the lower brace part .120 wall. Then I used 1/4 inch plate on the side that had a 90 degree bend to go over the top. This was connected to the stock radius arm front stamped part that bolts onto the ttb beam. I cut it off approx. 6 or so inches from beam.Welded tubes and 1/4 plate to it. Very strong and looks good. I added another short bend to the top as well to mount my limit strap to. The end for the heim currently just has a large bolt in it and uses the stock stamped rear mount. You can get a weld in bung from offroad shops like Kartek etc.I hope this helps.:rockon

Thanks Steve, I like this radius arm design. Could you send me more pictures? Have you done it yourself? Radius arm is 16" longer than original design?
Bronco85 12-02-2005, 01:18 PM Gremlin Character is Mike Barber from Australia
Bronco85 12-02-2005, 01:19 PM The reason you can't find his write up is because his website no longer exists. It was hosted by Superford, back when it was free. It is no longer up.
steveG 12-02-2005, 02:21 PM Those radius arms are completely custom attached to custom beams that moved the wheels 5 or 6" forward from stock on a 2wd Ranger, so measurements aren't going to help. I built a similar set for an Explorer I put a D44 TTB in a few years ago.
cadaver 12-14-2005, 10:49 PM I just got a set of superlift arms. They are tube and 18" longer. If you would like pics or measurments to copy I would be happy before I install them.
OH, Yes!
It's what I need.
If you can do it, some measurments and pics whill be great! I could copy them easily but without measurments..
You install the extended arms with the stock brackets or drop brackets. If you use drop brakets, how longer they are?
Do it for me and you'll do a happy Belgian (this is the name of citizen in Belgium).
Thanks.
cadaver 12-16-2005, 02:16 AM You have a PM. I am going away for the weekend but when get back I will get all that stuff for you.
The superlift arms use the stock hangar just relocated back farther.
Ok.
Don't worry, i have time.
Thanks
