w/ temp and compass. I would like as much of the wiring as possible. The backing plate would be nice as well. It needs to be grey. Nevermind what the other posts say an explorer one is fine. Needs to have back plate, harness, and preferrably temp sensor with connector.

The Ford Explorer over head consoles can fit in the Broncos....with some work. Steve83 has a couple i believe, and i have one that needs a temperature sensor.

I have read that you can make the exploder consoles fit but my bko is in such good condition that if I were going to modify the headliner then I would want to make it look as stock as possible. I appreciate your response none the less. I will just have to wait it out.

I'm pretty sure the explorer console is the same as the Bronco console

From what I remember of Trucky18's overhead console write up he had to trim an explorer console to fit. I don't think it was a big deal, but they're not the same.

By the way, if you have a change of heart and decide to go after an explorer console after all shoot me a PM, I have one complete with temp sensor and quite a bit of wiring harness. I decided to put in an overhead shelf instead, so I no longer need it.

Heres another option - probably easier than waiting for a stock FSB overhead console to come your way.

Buy the stock plastic housing from here:

And fill it with the guts from an explorer console.

Yes, more expensive, but you'd get your desired effect

The Bronco console has a basket at the back that the Ex doesn't, & the roof contour is different. Otherwise, they're the same.

I finally got time to go junkyarding today :chili:, and I picked up 2 consoles. The tan one is from an Ex, & the gray one is from an '02 F150. I also got several tan dome lights, at least 1 gray, some thermometer/compass/dimming mirrors, & a map light mirror.

Steve, the console you got from the F-150... how does it compare for the headlinerlines to the bko?

I hadn't thought to check, but I know it's much straighter than the Explorer's. I don't have the Bronco console or headliner w/cutout to check it against...
