Yeah, that's what I was thinkin', but I wasn't gonna say anything.

well if you pull out your ashtray there are two little black plastic brackets on each side that hold it in. They are about 3 inches long, 1/16 inch deep and 1/4 inch wide. I need one but I assume they come in pairs. If you want you can look at your ashtray (taken out) and you should see them mounted on each side. They keep the ashtray in the dash mount.

I just sold my spare dash with that bracket still attached, so I don't have it to look at. Aren't those little tracks riveted or melted to the bracket? They're not shown separately here. :shrug

They are riveted on. I just broke mine off so I could mount my cb in the ashtray hole

well mine broke off

perhaps i am gonna have to splurge on an ashtray..or put a cb in
