View Full Version : Post Your Worst Bronco crash, etc.
Fireguy50 09-01-2003, 10:51 AM Some have already read some noobie claming of a bronco taking otu a telephone poll with minimum damage. So lets post our bigest crash or other disaster. I'm sure BA has some fire pics, and Steve83 should win this with his high speed roll over
Well Here is my 50MPH head on crash with a car:

dsotmoon 09-01-2003, 11:12 AM heres my first Bronco ('88) right after the fire dept put the flames out, for those of you that dont know the story, I came home from work one day and about an hour later my son comes into the room and says "dad there is something wrong with your truck" , i look out the window and flame are coming out from under the hood, total loss, burned the engine, hood, fenders, dash, carpet, bla bla bla, turns out it was a faulty alternator wiring harness which is a known problem with Ford but not big enough for a recall, all this only 2 weeks after I bought it, i paid 1700.00 for it and the insurance gave me 4000.00 for it whicj enabled me to buy the '89 i have now, anyway heres the burned 88...

Hey fireguy, was that a combined speed of 50mph? Ive never been in a wreck with the bronco, but Ill show the worst damage done to it
http://images.cardomain.com/member_img_a/404000-404999/404244_3_full.jpg
One of the bolts holding the bumper on is pinched where the bumper collapsed in, so its gonna be a bitch to get that thing off.
Big Mike C. 09-01-2003, 03:16 PM Not really a crash, but the pucker factor was defiantely in effect...

Yeah, its a 45MPH zone. I was going 55, but once I saw him turn i got her down to 40, and he was coming at me at 10, so...
40+10=50 :banghead stupid old man!
And I blew up that engine any way, LOL
T-boned a Honda when she didn't look. I was traveling 45-50mph, there was a Land Rover in the lane to my right, so I never saw her until she met my grill. She might have made it, if she had hammered down and got out of the way, but she looked up and saw Bronco grill at her window and froze. Smashed all the glass out, totaled her lil Civic and her and her passenger went to the hospital. Gave the Bronco a fat lip, me and my mom were fine and I drove the Bronco home. Its still sportin' scratches in the paint from her glass, and the hood and fender were just straightened a'la rubber hammer.
After seeing what happened to the Honda, and what little happened to the Bronco, my mom says she'll never put me in a little car.

SquattyD 09-09-2003, 01:44 AM My friend and I bought a 79 Bronco in New Jersey and went down to pick it up one saturday morning. Turns out the worst snow storm of the year also was there that morning, and New Jersey someone forgot to plow the roads. We were on Rt 287 (i think) about 10 miles shy of the NY State border. The roads were starting to clear up, and my friend Eric got the truck up to about 55 mph. He tried to change lanes, but once he did, he couldnt get the truck straight again. As I passed him in the chase vehicle, he stood the truck on its nose in a ditch, then rolled it on its side a couple times on the wall of the ditch. He landed on all fours. The cap had taken most of the punishment, and it lay in pieces all over the shoulder. One kid stopped, glady told us that he rolled his car last year and we would be fine, and left. Then a cop showed up too. He asked if anyone was hurt, no, and if there was a collision, again no. The Bronco was unregistered and uninsured, so I didnt really want him to stick around, which he didnt, because there were so many other accidents that night. We didnt even have to report it. We made it to a hotel with a parking garage, and left it there for the night. Then we drove it home the next morning! No oil, no gas, no problems. Fired right up, drove home like a champ.

BoulderBronco 09-09-2003, 03:16 PM Here are some pics of the only accident I have been in. It was a good one! Senior year in High School. I fell asleep at the wheel doing 80. You can see the tire tracks and the rock that I careened off of and then roilled and slid a few hundred feet on the roof.

SMOOTH 09-09-2003, 03:43 PM I wish I had pics, but last year I was driving in Atlanta traffic. Was at a stop light when traffic started going, got up to around 35 or 45 I guess, then the car infront of the car infront of me slammed on their breaks (still don't know why) so the car infront of me stopped, by the time I got on the breaks it was too late. Busted up their rear passanger quarter panel, trunk, and bumper, messed up my driver's side light assembly, quarter panel, bumper, and somehow bent my radius arm. The only thing that makes this story interesting is the car I hit was a 2001 Mustang Saleen. Man was he pissed. Luckly he didn't blame me, he blamed the guy infront of him, but he was upset. On top of all that, I pushed him up on a concrete median, so he still had to drive off of it which I'm sure scratched up his underside some more.
MM
BikerPepe` 09-09-2003, 04:25 PM Lost all my pics in a PC crash... (never do a drive swap while on meds) and it's not a Bronco crash, but it's a good wreck story.
My best crash as an adult (have been in a few others, one that even literally killed me) but this one was MINE.
Anywho... summer of '96, August 22nd and I'm taking another cruise on my first Harley ('81 Shovelhead, perfect condition... but used and a little tired) I'd bought the previous winter.
Pulled out of a gas station after filling up... started down the main road out of town and catching up to 35 MPH traffic. Looked over at the wanna-be Harley infront of the local Honda shop. Looked back ahead and... BUTT PUCKER!!!
Sears van stopped on the road, dead ahead. Locked up his brakes to aviod hitting some canuks lost in town who missed there turn and stopped in the road.
Oncoming traffic on one side and big tree in a ditch on the other... so I try to lay the bike down in the 1 1/2 car lengths I've got going about 30mph. I get the bike fully sideways and about 45 degrees when I make contact.
Cought my foot between the bumper and the gear casing... peeled off my tennie shoe (dumbass move wearing sneakers) and rammed my foot into/through the casing. The bike flips back up and somehow knocks the petcock out, spilling gas all over. I flip off the bike, bounce off the rear/side of the van and land next to it... standing. Immediatly I notice I'm on FIRE.
So I put out the fire in my hair. I put out the fire on my left arm. I lean down to put out the fire consuming my left leg and that's when the pain hits me!
SON OF A BITCH! I fall over and sitting on the side of the road I start trying to take my pants off, afterall... they are on FIRE!
About this time a bystander and damn good samaratin jumps over my burning bike and slides up next to me and starts helping to put out the fire on my leg.
He gets down to my foot and "HOLY SHIT! MAN I'M SO SORRY!" to which I reply... "NO.. NO... PUT IT OUT!! IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE!"
So he keeps smacking the ****led piece of meat that my left foot has become. He finally puts it out and I fall back... still in mass pain, my pants 1/4 off but happy to not be on fire anymore.
Another guy comes over and the two of them pick me up and haul me to the other side of the road, since the fire that was once my Harley is starting to pick up, now that it found the 2 cans of Oil in the saddlebag (it took 3 fire extinquishers and finally the fire truck to put it out I was told.)
Eventually (felt like days) the emergency crew shows up and asks me if I'm in shock or if I've passed out. I tell them NO, but I wish they would knock me out!
I have never before and hope and pray never again to feel that kind of pain again im my life or anyone else's for that matter.
Finally I get to the hospital and a red headed angel with a big shiny needle approaches me and finally... I'm out cold.
This all eventually resulted in the loss of my left foot... I had sneakers, jeans and a T-shirt... that's it. No helmet (not required in Idaho) and I consider myself lucky to still be around to tell the tale.
Lesson... when riding your bike: PAY ATTENTION AT ALL TIMES and WEAR THE RIGHT GEAR!!!
So that's my story. :beer
Marauder 09-13-2003, 11:30 AM wow quite a story. Also sorry im a n00b but why shouldnt you wear tennis shoes?

Sneakers in your Bronco is one thing, sneakers on a Motorcycle... well, lets just say with a good set of boots I might still be walking around on my own 2 feet, instead of buying one for $8,000 - $12,000 to walk around on. :toothless
Marauder 09-14-2003, 07:41 PM so sneakers just like slip on a motorcycle thats why?
and im sure we could fashion up a nice duct tape biotic foot for ya :toothless jk

.......Did you miss something in the story? :lolup
Tennishoes will provide you no protection in an accident, but a good set of boots may save your feet from total destruction.
I'll pass on the duct tape foot. I've seen some homemade prosthetics and what they do to peoples stumps... not pretty!
Marauder 09-15-2003, 03:51 PM oh i just thought at that speed and direction no kind of footwear (except prehaps a steel shoe) would have been able to save a foot so i thought there was something extra i was missing out on ;) thanks for clearing that up and hopefully you can get a biotic foot and show it off they sounded pretty cool

Rub an eraser on concrete and you'll get the picture.
bigdave 09-16-2003, 09:01 AM I got rear ended. Not much compared to everyone else's story, and I hope I keep it that way.
wheelman zak 09-16-2003, 09:13 PM I pretty much had the same thing happen as smooth. The cop that was lucky enough to witness it even told me it wasn't my fault, but gave me a ticket since I did rear-end someone.
Here's what it did.

Here's what I hit.
http://www.superford.org/getfile.php?id=58019&toggle=fullsize&f=scene_dakota.jpg
The one I'm driving now has been backed into by a Volvo(dent in RR quarter panel), hit by a Cadillac in parking lot (wrinkled LF quarter, my brother had to back down off of her hood), and a tour bus turned into the LR quarter in the high school parking lot. Also caught on fire once(burn mark on hood and peeling paint on valve covers). Also blew up a set of Flowmasters we had on it. (Very exciting!!)
HWY TO HELL 09-17-2003, 03:06 AM Boulderbronco, Is that blood or new oil on the driver side front fender? supprised your alive from the way that roof and side looks.

Bear in mind... my Grandpa & my Pappy also rode Harleys. There was never a second thought about riding again. ;)

The artwork on the leg is actually a T-shirt of my choosing (I've had a few different ones) that is laminated into the Prosthetic.
Kinda cool stuff, huh? Makes a great conversation piece. :toothless
And THANKS for the kind words man... :thumbup

RavenTBK 10-10-2003, 06:43 PM I havent been in a serious wreck with any of my buckys and I hope I never am *knocks on wood*. Anywho, the worst I've seen is what my Dad did to my 82 one afternoon when he was cruising around Ft Meyers FL.
He was doing 50-60ish down Tamiami Trail (four lane hwy, 15ft median) and an old dude in a full size Cadidilac misses the stop sign and comes in front of him to make the a left hand turn. He TBoned the caddy right in the drivers door, and threw the caddy across the median and across the opposing lanes into the ditch. My dad was submarined under the seatbelt and steering column and has had surgery on his neck like 15 times since then. The Bronco had a set of those old school type tubular bumpers that were filled with concrete in the horizontal members and sand in the one that loops up. The damage to the truck was the bumper was pushed into the frame about 2 inches, one "leaf" or "arm" of the bumper was 3/4 torn off, busted faglights, and shattered plastic grille. There were no punctures in the impact.. it just shrunk the space between the grille and radiator by 2inches.
If it wasnt for the serious injuries that my dad suffered in the incident, he would've drove it home. Instead, momma had to pick it up while dad was on his way to the hospital. (it was drivable, so FHP didnt want to pay to tow it off) Anywho, the truck still survives to this day, with a rewelded bumper, new grille, and about 2 inches shorter in length than it was when it rolled off the Ft Meyers Ford lot.
On the other side of the story tho, the old dude that was driving the Caddy didnt survive. His drivers seat was in the passenger side of the car, and was was not wearing his seatbelt. :(
KENNY 10-10-2003, 10:22 PM man, i bet thats hard on pops :(
well the worst wreck i think i was in (only had the bronco like 3 months - **also knocks on wood!**) was in my old rice burner (YEAH!)... basically, rainy day, slick roads, just goin along, and something in the front end snaps, and sends me doing a 180 off the road in the air into a 4 inch steel fence pole about 30 seconds from my house... turned the whole car into a u shape, spoiler was about 30 feet away, so on... the badass thing was (have a sense of humor here please!) was that the side of my face broke the side window, and i had to get stitches in 2 spots on my EYELID, and the whole side of my face was one big scab from the 2nd impact sending my face into the steering wheel... a month later, all i had was a solid bloody red eye, in which i took my senior pictures with :twak
lesson well learned overall - CARS ARENT SAFE, GET SOMETHING BIG :thumbup (especially the ricers - damn teenage fad!)
swamp thang 10-19-2003, 11:22 PM i opened up my door at the gas pump the other day and it hit one of those poles :shrug
parks911 04-17-2004, 06:25 PM I have to say that my worst wreck wasn't with a Bronco but it was a Ford. :shocked
I was out wheeling on some ATV trails last November when I made a mistake & rolled my F-150. The bad part was no other vehicles weren't with me, I was 20 miles from the closest town, My cell phone wasn't picking up a signal, & I had my children in the truck with me.
The good news is nobody was injured except me (minor bruising) & I didn't do to much damage.
This I have learned.....
Never go wheeling by yourself & don't get to close to the edge if your unsure of the ground under you.

Gillamonster 04-19-2004, 07:32 PM well, although not as bad as pepe's, I also wreked a bike this summer, I was going down a gravel road at about 45 miles per hour on a buddys dirt bike. First of all, I am way too big for a honda 250, I am 6'7 350, but I leaned to far into a corner, and gravity took my mass down. I was only wearing tennis shoes, shorts and a tee shirt, lost most of the skin an my right arm and right leg, broke my right arm in 3 places, and got a severe concussion. in the ER 4 4 hours getting rocks picked out, scabs are just starting to heal now, and it happend last august. I guess my moral of this story would be to wear the right gear and ride the right kind of bike,
Paul
The Yak 04-20-2004, 11:11 PM I ran a stop light last year in downtown Seattle going a tad over 30mph and nailed another car doing about the same, we hit corner to corner (his front right corner, my front left corner). The cop on the scene was shocked when he looked at the car, then looked at my Bronco. The Bronco looked like nothing had happened, not so much as a dent or a scratch. All it did to my Bronco was bend the wheel like nobody's business (didn't pop the bead, though) and screwed up my radius arm bracket. I threw on a spare and drove back to my buddy's house, the next day I drove 200+ miles to my house. I replace the radius arm bracket about a month ago.
I had to ask the insurance company what kind of car it was that I hit, it was totaled. Eveything from the windshield forward was a ****led mess. The valve cover (and some other small parts I didn't recognize) was atleast 40 feet from the car. Turns out it was a 1991 Toyota Corolla Wagon.
I had two friends with me, the driver of the other car was alone. Luckily no one was hurt. :beer
stangmata 04-21-2004, 10:58 AM I'll share a Nissan wreck.
Going down the road one winter doing about 30 when two cars up a girl SLAMS on her brakes. The kid in front of me was driving a Cherokee and he went sliding on a patch of ice. I jam my brakes and go sliding right behind him while I am laying on the horn and bracing for the worst. The girl two cars up turns her car and gets out of the way of the cherokee. The kid in the jeep hits a dry spot and stops. If the kid would have just kept on going everything would have been fine....NOPE! He stops dead and I whaled him. Spun his jeep right around and sent him down the road. Luckily it was bumper to bumper.
http://www.superford.org/getfile.php?id=95232&toggle=fullsize&f=DCP_0044.JPG
It pushed in the other kids rear bumper a bit to where he couldn't open his tailgate. $167 later, he had his truck fixed and I never fixed mine :toothless
Lonestar_Bronco 04-21-2004, 04:25 PM Well the chick turned the camera off.... :banghead
but the worst I've had happend to me on a five diamond trail at Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area (DeWoody trail for those familiar). It is a pretty steep hill with two to three foot ledges throughout. I had to bump the ledges to get over them (no front locker) and killed the engine on a ledge close to the top. With hydro assist steering, I couldn't turn the wheel without fluid pressure, nor could I start the truck on that incline with little vacuum (brakes were depressed). So, I tried to roll backwards, but my tires were turned severly to the left. As I was rolling, I was slowly turning into a "sidehill" situation. Well, I rolled off a fairly tall ledge, the front end broke free, swung down the hill, and I began to slide down the hill sideways. Very quickly, my uphill tires were bouncing into the air (the bystanders said "it so looked like it was gonna roll"). After traveling 10-15 feet this way, I hit a tree, hard. I then took an hour of time and a 12,000 pound winch to free me up. you can kind of see the damage to the front left fender and hood here:

WhoaDammit 04-22-2004, 01:59 PM My worst accident ever (that I feel bad about) in the bronco was when I took out my Gf's S10's taillight. fixed that in less than an hour (including getting the part AND picking her up from school).
I lost the LF headlight bezel going 40 down Ave C in town once. Never did find it again (6months later)
Overall worst was hitting a parked car with my grandma's crown vic. twin long scrapes down the side, and a new power mirror.
~Critter
500channels 05-17-2004, 02:07 AM My worst was backing up my mom's VW Passat into another car in the school parking lot. The other vehicle was ok, but I crushed the taillight housing. Those fawkers are expensive.
Hopefully that's the worst I'll ever do. Came real close on a slippery road last winter in 2wd to running head on into a Chevy S-10 (in my bronco). Started slipping all over the place, got it under control just in time. Put it into 4wd and had no trouble afterwards.
Oh yeah, and a few years ago a crossbreeze pushed us and my mom overcorrected and we went off the highway into the grassy part in the middle. If our travel trailer hadn't jackknifed around, we probably would have rolled.
No pics, none of them were real serious. Busting that taillight still pisses me off though.
PaulT 05-19-2004, 12:04 PM My worst accident was in my first car, a '75 Gran Torino 4 door (hand me down from my parnets). Spent the summer rebuilding the engine and sent the FMX tranny out. Put it on the road on October 13. Oct 22nd while leaving school, traffic came to a quick stop. I barely tagged the Capri in front of me, 3 seconds later a 68 Buick Electra slammed into my rear end. A mother who was too busy with her kids in the back seat to worry about driving :-( Put her front bumper < 6" from my rear window.
Dates were easy to remember, happened on Dad's birthday, his gift was in the trunk.
Next worse one was in my 85 Chebby 3/4 ton plow truck. Going home from working on my friends race car one night. 4 way intersection, I had a blinking yellow and the cross road had blinking red. Saw a car approaching on the crossroad, it started to slow down, then kept right on going. At that point, I knew if I tried to stop the rear end would lock up and I'd slow down enough to put the plow frame into the driver's door. Stomped on it hoping to get through the intersection. Her cavalier's blue paint was on my truck from the front bumper to the back (passenger side). Pushed in the side of the truck, snapped the rear leaf, crunched my sidesaddle gas tank. Her car was unrecognizeable. Kept the truck, put it back together, plowed for another year with it then traded it in towards my Monte Carlo
don_quixote 05-25-2004, 11:29 PM i've got 2 of 'em- neither in the bronco, though. #1 happend in downtown minneapolis- trried turning left from the second lane from the right, got a big ol' honda civic print on my '94 V-8 tbird's left 1/4 panel. stoooooopid! i take full responsibility for that screw-up. the second one though, wasn't mine. i was driving down 35W in my mom's '01 durango- came aroud a curve and over a hill going the same speed as everyone else (50-55) and here's this bozo sitting in the middle of my lane staring at some guy changing a flat tire. no time to stop- can't swerve left cuz i'll cause a pile-up with all the other traffic and quite possibly roll, can't swerve right cuz i'll hit the cop that's behind the guy with the flat tire, so i locked up the brakes (abs- go figure!) and plowed into him. broke the liscense plate braket, cracked the grille, messed up the headlight alignment, and bent up the AC condenser, but amazingly, the AC still worked, the radiator support was bent, but no leaks in the radiator and no hoses rubbing- with the hood closed you couldn't even tell anything had happened! but his little duster was a lot worse! ripped off his bumper cover, broke out his tail lights and buckled his 1/4 panels. i'm pretty sure he had some difficulty opening the rear hatch after that, too. as for close calls- too many to list! like just yesterday i almost lost my '88 country squire just to the west of souix falls in the pouring rain because my front tires are bald and it started hydroplaning at 70 MPH! almost got it sideways, but i pulled through it and slowed to about 55 until the rain stopped and the road cleared off a little.
AdamG 05-26-2004, 11:24 AM Worst accident I ever had was while delivering a pizza 15 years ago. Sad thing is, I wasnt even in the car. I delivered pizza in my rice burner (Datsun 280ZX...it was sweet and fast!!).
One night, as I was standing at the door giving a family their pizza, a lil girl in the doorway said "hey mom!!! look at that car!!!". I looked to my right and my car was flying down their driveway (STEEP INCLINE...about 50 yards) and disappeared behind the house. All I heard was a loud BANG!!!! My lil Datsun had driven right underneath a Delta 88 and a Bonneville parked side by side. It still drive, but the hood looked like a tent it was bowed so bad. To make matters worse, all the woman at the door could say was "you scratched my bumper!!!".
jackhart 05-26-2004, 11:35 AM this one is more bizarre/funny than serious.
one summer in hs i was cruising down a wooded country road in my '71 Chevelle, going around a long sweeper, when all of a sudden, there is a loud smash and my windshield literally explodes into a gigantic bullseye right in my line of sight. if it happened today i know i would have thought someone was shooting at me, but back then, i just plain needed to clean my shorts...
i lock up the brakes, the guy behind me locks up, and we both go fishtailing semi sideways off the road onto a shoulder and my front wheels almost falling down a ditch. i get out, see that the other guy is ok, and he's like, "what the hell, man?" i point to my windshield and say, "that's what i'd like to know." we figured a rock or something big kicked up somehow, kind of looking around for something, until he looks across the street and sees a golf course. a little more searching and we find the culprit, yes, it was a golf ball that hit my windshield. i don't know what angle it came from exactly, just glad it didn't go through the windshield and take me out. i can't tell you how shocking that was, coming out of nowhere like that, with this loud "crack".
by this time we can't really tell who might have hit the golf ball, and no one had come over from the golf course to admit it. so i drove up there and talked to the manager of the club, who, after hearing what happened, to his credit, agreed to pay for a new windshield.
stangmata 05-26-2004, 11:40 AM My old man did that one day on a course. He smacked a ball off the tee and hit the windshield of a car that was toting a family off to church. My dad offered to pay for damaged but the guy insisted it was the gold course's responsibility to pay. :beer

Bluebeast 05-30-2004, 01:36 PM let me guess.. you took the sledge out and beat the poo outta it?
Bluebeast 05-30-2004, 01:48 PM ok a few years ago i was driving home form school on a dry clear day. i was going a little fast and pulled in behind this camero at the center turn lane.. i thought he was gonna go but he didnt so i slam the brakes and miss him with my passenger side front corner by about 5 inches.. i skid into on coming traffic and hit this lady in her caddiallac catera(the cheap caddys). the damage started at her front drivers corner and ran the whole way to the rear corner. then she hit the ditch hard. the bronco is still drivable so i put it in the center lane. there is glass everywhere and the WHOLE side of her car is gone.. glass pillars mirror and the trunk is even messed up good. they fixed her car for a total of $16,257. i paid the 250 deductable and that was it.. the insurance company hates me for it but they didnt drop me. drivers QP bumper light housing grill under skirt and charcol canister were the only things wrong with the bronco.. BTW i left 56 ft of rubber on the road that is still visible today after 3 yrs.
Big Wurmb 07-30-2004, 04:41 AM back in the day my mom had a 78 and driven down the hwy the axile just broke. and no she doesnt off road with it was just daily drive truck to work and home
HavBlue 07-30-2004, 09:32 AM I was coming home about 1030 one night during some light rain, we had just had a hurricane a few days before and I was still doing cleanup on a friend's plantation. The speed limit was 45 on this two lane road that has a few turns in it. I was going uphill through a turn when a Merc came at me with its highs on. I flashed mine to get him to turn them off but but he didn't. With the rain I couldn't see anything but the side of the road so I was looking at the white line. About that time the car cut into my lane and I moved right a little. Well there is no shoulder to the road, only a 3 foot ditch that was eating away the side of the road. My MTRs caught the side of the road and I lost all control then. Went in and turned left coming out of the first ditch, brakes locked and went across the road to the other ditch and went in and came out. Came back across the road and went back into the ditch where the truck traveled up the bank and caught the edge of a driveway. It flipped onto the driver's side and continued to slide up to a telephone pole that crushed the top right behind the cab. I put down the back window and walked out with no shoes through the class of the broken side window. Out of all of it the only thing wrong was where the telephone pole hit and the drivers side fender. I had some pics but they are on my other hard drive if I can get that fixed I'll post them. This was all in a 94 EB 351 with 32 MTRs
96XLT 07-30-2004, 06:21 PM When I was 16 and driving my 84 XLT in the snow for the first time, I had a little accident. I had no problems until I hit a residential area. I underestimated my ability to turn in several inches of wet snow/slush and did not make it around a turn. I was going pretty slow, maybe 15-20 MPH and was able to slow down some before impact with the parked car (why park a car on a busy street when you have an empty driveway?).
I nailed a mid-eighties Ford LTD, dropping the rear bumper and pushing the trunk into the back seat. As I hit it, the rear end slid against the curb kind of pinning me against the car. I had to back up the curb to move, but the first attempt failed and I rammed the car a second time. Assessing the damage to the Bronco; bent passenger vertical bumper push bar piece, one smashed fog light lens, and one piece of black bumper trim broken off. A few scratches on the bumper. Overall I was amazed at the damage I caused (more than totaled the car) and how little I received.
The worst part, the car's owner was the local rabbi and my mom had told me not to go out because I would have an accident. I got the 'I told you so' when I got home.

B-man 10-01-2004, 11:32 PM Had that happen too, cept my drum stayed in the wheel. Happened to the one in my avatar.
Had that happen twice to me..
1st time was in my 68' Bronco, front left tire at 65 mph on the freeway. That was insane.. when I finally stopped , we watched my wheel roll down the way a bit..
2nd time was in my friends hyundai. About 70mph, front tire.
I just pray it doesn't happen on my current beast, with the lift and 35 inch tires.. Could be bad news if it does. :shrug
locopny 10-02-2004, 04:16 PM no pictures, but the worst crash in the bronco was hitting a deer while bring my 49 chevy back home. The trailer helped swerve the Bronco and I was finally able to hit the deer. The Bronco recieved a slightly tweeked prerunner bar and some stains. Most damage was done to the trailers fender and taillight. And of course the deer. impact speed was in the neighborhood of 50MPH..I figured to have slowed about 15-20MPH. I was glad to be in a lifted truck.
Didn't enjoy clobbering the deer cause the fool looked at me for a second prior to impact.

Ranger429 11-17-2004, 10:07 PM OK, not exactly a Bronco but it is a FORD. This was my 1st truck that I had bought brand new from the local FORD dealer in stock form and had slowly been putting it together with the lift kit, tires and other stuff , I had just turned 18 when I got it. This is what happen's when you decide to run a stop sign at 35 MPH and get hit broad side by a piece of chit chebby blazer doing 45. Lucky for me I had the roll bar because when I wound up in the ditch it was the only thing that kept me from landing on the roof of my truck. I had this truck for just about 1 year before I crashed it and that was probably one of the worst day's of my life! The insurance company wrote it off as a total loss. Man what I would give to locate this one now, I often wonder if someone put it back together...... :banghead

Ranger429 11-17-2004, 10:28 PM Here is what happen's when a 17 yr old in mom's car is not paying attention and run's into the back of my semi trailer at 50MPH while I was making a left hand turn into a driveway at about 2 miles an hour, he never even touched the brake's! Needless to say I spent the entire next day replacing air bag's and wiring up light's on the back of the trailer.

kf4amu 11-18-2004, 01:00 AM 5 years ago, before the digital camera craze, in a 1997 Ranger towing a 20 foot Mako coming back from fishing...guy in a 1980 GMC 1500 turned left in front of us, Dad slammed on the brakes, and 10 feet later t-boned him in the passenger side door, our skid marks showed a prompt 45 degree turn to the left and the Ranger (The Silver Bullet) ended up in the median of the 4 lane road with the ****led boat trailer still attached to it. The boat kept going straight and touched down in the middle of the road after removing the back cap off the Silver Bullet. It actually glanced off the back of the cab on the passenger side, as evidenced by white fiberglass marks on the truck and silver paint on the side of the boat.
The fire department I just joined showed up, and naturally I never lived that one down. No real injuries, totalled all vehicles involved.
We had pictures, and I have a picture of the Silver Bullet on my old computer but if I can get it off its a miracle...

Bronco Rob 02-04-2005, 03:50 AM This is more humorous than anything.
This was last winter, was sitting at a stop light. Was snowing pretty bad. When i stopped i slid , but i stopped, turned the truck back to straight and was kind of close to the car in front of me. There was black ice all over the intersection. Just as i thought to myself "Man this is an accident waiting to happen" I look up in the rearview mirror to see a woman sliding horribly out of control, she had no clue what to do and was just whipping the wheel back and forth.
I had no where to go, i laid on the horn and the guy in front of me flicked me off. So, i clenched the steering wheel, clenched my butt cheeks and BAM! the woman hit me, knocking me forward into the finger guy in front of me. Damage to both bumpers, ruined my tailgate, wrinkled the bed, and broke both the taillights in the Dodge. Needless to say i had to talk my way out of a ticket when the cops showed up. Evidently how close you stop to someone is a violation here in Parma, Ohio.
I take the Dakota in, get all the body work done, free of charge thanks to her insurance.
EXACTLY ONE WEEK TO THE DAY i got the truck back. Stopped at the EXACT same light, same icey conditions. I stop, look up, and see A younger guy SLIDING, and think "Oh shit, here we go again". Clench steering wheel, clench butt cheeks, BAM! This time i didn't hit anyone in front of me. Did the EXACT SAME DAMAGE to the Dakota as the week before. SAME COP shows up to the accident, looks at me and starts shaking his head.
This time the cop says, i need to see your license and proof of insurance. Kid looks at the cop and says "Well, there is this thing about my insurance" Which translates into "I don't have SHIT"
What do i get from this? A Bill, a pending lawsuit against the kid's parents to pay for my truck (Never got SHIT anyhow), and MY insurance goes up. :shrug

Hoxviii 02-09-2005, 01:50 AM Wish I had pictures, but I can describe it pretty well.
Imagine this:
You're driving down an ATV trail. It's nice and serene; birds are chirping, the leaves are rustling, and your 300-6 is humming along about 1500 RPM. Pure beauty.
You notice the trail makes a sharp right and there are a couple of trees on your left. Nothing too terribly big, but enough that you are going to have to cut the turn short to make it.
You stop to ponder the situation. Birds are chirping, leaves are rustling, and your 300 is humming at an idle. So nice.
You come to the conclusion that this is exactly why you twin sticked your NP 205 and have front wheel drive. You feel righteous for the decision and very full of yourself as you slip the rear axle into neutral for the first time. You feel the shift rail pop into neutral; a shiver runs down your spine.
A quick glance to the right confirms that it is the direction you want to go and a quick glance to the left confirms the turn cannot be made in four wheel drive. You give it the gas. Birds are chirping, leaves are rustling, and your 300 is rumbling at 2000 RPM with the clutch in. Serenity.
You cut the wheel hard to the right and let out on the clutch quickly in an attempt to whip yourself around the corner. A resonating crunch of sheet metal crushes the tranquility of the day and a resounding "four letter word" can be heard across the country side. You finish the turn you began by pivoting around the leading edge of your passengers side rear tire and pull onto the open trail. You get out to inspect. Birds are no longer chirping, the wind has stopped, and an eerie silence descends upon the forest.
You walk around to the passengers side and look. You see carnage in the basest sense. ****led sheet metal, tree branches, peeling paint; it was not a scene for children.
Some quick work with a 4' prybar makes the truck driveable once more as sheet metal is no longer attempting to gouge holes in your brand new 35's. You stand back and look, noting to yourself what has happened. There is unrest in teh forest.
The passengers side of teh bed is destroyed from the leading edge of the box to the leading edge of teh rear tire. The outer panel of the bed is contacting the inner panel and part of the outer panel is pinched so tightly that it is touching another part of the outer panel and is projecting almost 6" away from the truck. The trailing edge of your wheel well was in contact with your tire, but is no more. All is good.
You remount your vehicle and start it again. A glance back revels further damage that previously had gone unnoticed. Being that you pilot the big brother of the bronco, a massive beast known as a "long bed regular cab F-150", it has three rectangular holes cut into the top of both of the bedrails. The glance across your shoulder has revealed that the first and second of these holes are now perfectly visible from the drivers seat and nowhere else. They stand perfectly vertical, as if paying their respects to the fallen.
A sad day on the trail, I ask that we now hold a moment of silence for our fallen brother, the bed; but alas! We shall celebrate it's glorious replacement that for the outrageous sum of $25 brought this truck back to its previous splendor! Once again, teh birds are chirping, the leaves are rustling, and the faint sound of a 300 rumbling in the distance comes to you. You smile.

96' eddie bauer 02-18-2005, 12:22 AM I've never actually "crashed" my baby, but I did mess it up pretty goodly. I was out wheelin' with some friends and we came upon this lake with a little island about 10 yards inside it. I said NO WAY, but then my friends dared me to...bastards. So of course I tried it. The ground looked muddy underneath the 2 ft. water so I hit it kinda fast (10-15mph). I made it about 3/4 the way across and lost momentum. The engine had died and I called a friend to pull me outta the water, which wasn't even muddy on the bottom (hard packed)! After screwing around with it for about 2 hours, I finally got it running, but it made an awful CLANK CLANK CLANKING noise, coming from the block. $1,200 dollars later I found out it was a bent rod. I learned my lesson though: friends suck.

broncolade 03-17-2005, 01:57 AM I will have to get pics up of my 79 the broncolade1 its former owner used angle iron and a piece of rerod and built a tire rack for the front end. That rack has let me plow thru multiple deer, a dodge shadow, a marquis, a nova, a big ass tree that fell down in a tornado did not see it and I was haulin ass running away from the twister and all the only casualty on the bronco was its drivers side mirror glass the mirror frame is still there and fine. The most damage it has taken is on the drivers side from when the marquis got hung up on the front bumper and I tried to do a reverse donut to get it off. The car came free but the back end of it bounced off my tire and its bumper jumped up and bite the bronco in the face.
DavidnTheBeast 03-18-2005, 10:30 PM I don't have pictures from my accident but it sure is a good story. One day 3 weeks after I bought my Bronco I decided I was hungry. Sadly, it had rained so I could not go anywhere without getting soaked and I did not have a license. I figured I had enough driving experience to go out and get some food. So, I left my house some around 4:00 pm to go to Sonic, which is where I work. I am there, I get my food the time is somewhere around 4:10 - 4:20 pm. As I am heading home I decided I was going to go the opposite way in which I came. I make a right onto Florida Blvd and I am traveling down this road at 60-70mph and it's a flippin 30-35 mph road with a school zone! But that's not where I crash. I come to a complete stop at an intersection where I need to make a left hand turn onto Kings Rd. Traffic is pretty as the middle school around my neighborhood was let out and parents and buses were picking up their kids. With such heavey traffic at this time of day it's hard to make a left hand turn (should have went home the way I came) traffic is filling up behind me and patience is running thin and I am hungry, I want to eat. I finally see an opening to go but there is a school bus getting ready to dump out it's kids so I wouldn't be able to turn due to the bus so this means another 40 seconds of waiting oh no can't have that. So, not realizing my tires are already turned to make the left hand turn I hit the gas and suddenly lose control of the truck when my truck comes over the curb fish tails it someone's front lawn spraying mud and grass everywhere my front end had hit a rather large puddle of water, spraying my windshield with water. I could not see anything! Finally, as my rear end gains traction again the bronco is going the opposite direction as I was going...again. Now before I tell you what happens let me set up the other side of the story for you. Some 64 year old woman on her birthday going to her birthday dinner was sitting at a stop sign which just so happens to be on Kings Rd and Florida Blvd. She's just sitting there minding her own business waiting to go to her birthday dinner. Now may I remind you she is driving a brand new PT Cruiser. OK, so that's what is directly in front of my bronco. My bronco finally gets traction again and continues to move forward at around 30 mph and suddenly BOOOOOOOOOM! Glass and water are everywhere! Her PT Cruiser ends up in the middle of the other road because I guess she hit the gas to try and avoid me but her car is totaled! The whole left side of it was completely smashed in and somehow well not somehow it's an off road truck here, damnit. The bronco manages to go over a ditch and into a cops backyard before I can stop the truck and turn it off to check on the person I had hit. I nearly pissed myself when I walked to the other car, I thought I killed the lady because she was just laying there. Anyways I got to her and I asked her if she was ok and she opened her mouth and nothing but glass poured out of her mouth. Her car was destroyed my bronco only had minimal damage, bent bumper, messed up fender, a bent tie rod, and a bent radius arm. That's my story. Oh yeah the cops didn't even notice I didn't have a license so I got away with that and my food got cold and I had to stand out in the rain anyways...yay!

totalled the rim, but the tire was fine. Bent the draglink, and sheared off the sector shaft in my one month old steering box! But, about 3 months later they decided to warranty it, saying it was a defective casting of the sector shaft
Franklin 06-14-2005, 04:09 PM Back in 04. 25 mph in the snow, head on into telephone pole. Drove it that way 15 miles home making some funky noises. Right turns became 20 pt turns

bronc'nBK 06-20-2005, 03:54 PM jeff is it just me or is NOTHING wrong with your bronco except a tweaked bumper?
bigbroncojeff 06-21-2005, 04:37 PM tweaked my bumper and the bumper mounts... broke most of the tabs on the headlights so they all rattled after that and a small chunk fell out of the grille a few weeks later...but yes otherwise minimal compared to the carnage caused... was lucky that i didn't hit that s10 frame to frame... woulda been bad... luckily i just accordian'd his bed and that took a lot of shock out of the hits.. if you look close you can see it bent his cab and popped out all but his front window... they had to do a duke boys to get out because the doors were stuck rippled and stuck closed too... the front of the s10 looked worse than mine b/c it got wrapped up in the golfs tailgate... and no the golf had red tails not clears before this :duh
big mike 06-22-2005, 04:11 AM Well the chick turned the camera off.... :banghead
but the worst I've had happend to me on a five diamond trail at Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area (DeWoody trail for those familiar).

DieselPower 06-22-2005, 09:19 PM these are pics of my 89. it had 300000 some on the stock 302, and finaly was beat to all hell after the the front driveshaft took the tranny/t case wires and pulled em all out, making the t case stuck in 4LOW.
so we jumped it and jumped it and jumped it, tried to roll it, held it at 5500rpm(wouldnt go no higher, valves were floatin) with no coolant and low oil psi, and the damn thing wouldnt die. we finaly decided that ford build a 302 right. lol

amw_drizz 06-23-2005, 01:42 PM my story does not involve a bronco but a new '04 f150 pick up.
on my way home from vermont the day after xmas 2004 i was about 15 mins away from home when a drunk driver infront of me decided to scare his passangers. well he did. also went flying ( doing about 50mph+) on black ice into a guard rail i was doin about 40mph in this little 96 olds cutlas. he bounced back into my lan did a 180 so his passenger side was facing me and i nailed him right inback of the door.
All the doors on my car were bound shut i literally knocked the door of its hinges. and he jumps. JUMPS out of his car in a excieted voice & says "Man that was f***** fun we got to do that agian." after that i could tell he was drunk. the cops said it was my fault for lossing control on black ice and i should of not of been following him too closely ... i was at least 10-20 yards away from him and the the black ice was about 1/2 - 3/4 mile long.
THe cop gave me a ticket to apper in court to discusse the loss of my license while the drunk got in his truck and drove off. me and my friend had to have it towed to a junk yard while my parents went to the ER.
To continue so i show up in court and the judge says that cop should not have giving me a ticket and left me free on all apointed charges of "tailgateing, driving drunk(Yea sure jacka** i never drive drunk, hey i never had alcohol), and causing damage to another car.
The insurance said i was not liable and the gave me the money which i used to purchase a bigger car. like my bronco right now.
Bri_Guy5 06-23-2005, 10:28 PM damn, dieselpower, i never ever, in my wildest dreams could have imagined the broncos were so fawking tough!!!!
seeing those pictures....i'm damn proud of ford :brownbag
DieselPower 06-23-2005, 11:42 PM in the dark pic, we are landing from about a 10 foot jump. basicly, the jump launched us up, aprox. 12-15 feet. first landing knocked the fan shroud out. every other one had no ill effect.
and belive it or not, the hood still latched and unlatched by the cable inside.

Why would you ruin a perfectly good bronco?!?! :shrug :cry
Canadian Bronco 07-05-2005, 09:02 PM at 300 and his description i dont think it was perfect,
only time i "crashed" was goin into a ditch on an overplowed road
but once i almost gutted myself on the hood latch

Never said perfecty... I said prefectly good.
broncobuster37 07-06-2005, 01:59 AM No pics for ya but I hit a boulder doing about 25 around a corner on a gravel road trail. It was a new trail to me so I didn't know it was coming. It was right around the bend so I could either hit it or flip the Bronco trying to avoid it. Smashed one of my A-arms and my axleshaft, broke my bumper in two pieces, and sent my friends head into the windshield. He's fine though, not even a concussion.
Took me awhile but I got all of the axle back together (and now I'm questioning why I put a TTB back together).
I rolled my '83 off a 10' embankment a few years ago. I wasn't really wheeling, I was trying to get around a good sized sink hole in the middle of a dirt road up at Baker Lake. The road paralelled the lake side with a gradual incline but no trees or anything to stop you from rolling off it and back down to the lake shore if something happened. It was stupid because I knew going around the hole would mean getting dangerously close to the edge but there was room. Too bad it had just rained and the edge wasn't as firm as I would have liked it to be LOL. Both wheels on the driver's side slowly started slipping at the same time - what a helpless feeling. It was unreal because it slowly started to lean and once it went it did a complete 360 litely scraping the roof on it way over and slamming down on all 4 wheels when it landed. Hit so hard it stalled the truck and I couldn't get it running for 45 minutes. But other than a giant grass/mud stain on the roof and the making the existing crack in the windshield larger there wasn't a speck of damage. Scared the complete sh*t out of me as it was happening but once I got out I couldn't stop laughing. But because I my incredible luck I feel obligated to pass on the public service message: WEAR YOUR DAMN SEATBELT - I wouldn't have been laughing if I hadn't been wearing mine :)
Ptack1 08-11-2005, 12:08 AM In my 70 Mach 1, i took a turn, gave it a touch too much gas, hit a bump (would have lost trac. if that damn bump wasnt there). Spun left, over corrected, hopped a curb, tapped a guardrail
Pass. tire was thrashed, headlight bucket and fender extention were thrashed (120 for a NOS one). Headlight TRIM was dented (150 freakin bucks for that damn trim).
Learned my lesson, drove easier after that. I think i cried that night.
DigDugDaddy 08-11-2005, 11:18 AM I never had a wreck in my Bronco, but did have two wrecks I probably shouldn't have lived through.
-First was when I was 15. In the passenger seat of an Izuzu I-mark. The guy I was riding with went off the road, over corrected and hit a Porcshe 944 head-on. Cop said both vehicles were in excess of 60MPH. I was the only one not Nightengaled out and they had to cut the car apart to get the driver out of the car I was in. I had to get 6 stitches in my knee, broke both hands and one finger real bad, broke every rib on my left side, and a concussion. If I didn't have my seat belt on I would have died but the seatbelt is also what broke all my ribs. For a good week or more, you could see every stitch and weave from the seatbelt in my skin from the force of the impact.
-Second was when I was 16. My first car was a '93 Supra (no turbo, but still hot). It was me and three girls in the car and we came to a stop sign and thats the last thing I remember. From what I was told. I tried crossing the the road, I did stop, and a Camaro came around the turn at what the cop said had to be at least 75MPH. He never even hit his brakes and T-boned me. It sheared the rear end of the car off completely, spun me back the way I was facing, hit a ditch with the back end, and then flipped end over end at least 4 times from what the one girl that stayed consious said. The two girls in the back seats had there seat belts on and were still ejected from the car. I woke up in the middle of a corn field, my car upside down, and with at least 50 people running around, ambulances and cops everywhere. I didn't know who I was or what happened.
One of the girls on the back seat was real bad off, she was in a coma for 2 weeks, had brain swelling they had to operate to relieve pressure, broken pelvis, broken ribs and glass all in her face. She is okay now with no ill effects.
The other girl in the back seat broke ribs, collapsed lung, concussion, glass in her face and a broken wrist. She is also okay now and just had a child last year.
Girl in the passenger seat broke her arm pretty bad and had to get a titanium rod put it and she is fine.
All I got was a concussion because we had three cases of soda in the back and I got hit with three cans of it. I know because I had three gigantic gooseggs on my head. Had I not had my seatbelt on and my seat leaned back as far as it was, I would have been killed.
Had a bunch more various wrecks, but those two are the show stoppers. All I can say it, ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!!!
stangmata 08-11-2005, 11:49 AM I blasted the back of a Wrangler. The guy didn't realize that green meant go, so I gave him a hint.
Bent my grill gaurd, broke my bug deflector, and dented my hood.

BuckN 08-17-2005, 07:03 PM knock on wood....so far so good
Nasado 08-20-2005, 12:04 PM i know people will mos tlikly get mad because its not a bronco, however this is the first and last chevy i ever owned.
IT was a freak snowstorm and my brother asked me to come by so we could be stranded together and smoke some pot and drink some beers, you know that good stuff when its snowing and ur stranded. He thought that because i had 4 wheel drive i would be fine, and for the most part i was. I got within a mile of his house and took it out of 4-wheel drive.........a mistake iw ont make ever again.............the road itseld was pretty clear on this road except of coarse that strip of snow that is int he center of the road, but my left and right side tires we on pavement, wet pavement but still pavement.
Alas the truck was to big and as i went around a bend in the road the tires caught that snow in the middle and sent me on the opposite side of the road as a big town dumptruck not only with a plow but full of sand was coming right at me.
No seatbelt, blacked out, woke up in ambulance......Lucky to be alive.

94Bronce 08-24-2005, 10:04 AM Was driving home , i was maybe 100 feet from my house it's an all down hill strecth with another larger hill dust past my driveway and the front driver's side tires came off. It cut across the road in front of my grandfather who was coming the other way and flew off into the woods . I slide 50-60 feet on nothing put rotor ground about 3-4 inches of it and crumpled the dust shield and curled in the top of my wheel well . Nothing to serious but like was said before the pucker factor was defenetly there. I jackes the truck up put the tire back on and drove it to the body shop the next day never changed the rotor or anything still working just fine .
glennd_05 08-26-2005, 04:13 AM Was headed home the other day coming down a mountan taking a switchback while trying to swat a bee when i rolled it down a hill into a 10 foot chain link fence. everyone inside was fine, except maybe a few cuts and bruises, but the trucks totalled. i'll get pics of it in the morning when we meeet the wrecker there to haul it out.
i think i can salvage the frame and drivetrain, so maybe i'll keep it to do a cab swap at some point in time.

AUSSIE_BRONCO 08-31-2005, 01:57 AM What i did wasnt a crash but it still pissed me off.
I was doing burnouts in my front yard and i hit a tree with my front end, and bent my crappy bullbar like a banana, apart from that nothin else was wrong. Thats why i dont have bullbar on the front any more.
Lesson, dont be a fool.
pacer88220 09-03-2005, 12:31 PM June 6th 1992
I was heading down m-55 just out of Lake City one night after parking my 18 Wheeler. Anyways I was clipping right along and trying to get home (been on the road 4 weeks straight) All of a sudden 4 horses run across the front of the truck I jam the brakes and ditch the Bronco only to wind up hitting 2 horses ( better then 4 horses I guess). That and I travel over 195 feet in the field and back to pavement Dale style.
Anyways I pull the truck from this field back on to the shoulder of the road. About this time there is two cars parked along the side and I hear them saying something bout the driver is probably dead that just hit the horses.
I fight the widshield off me along with some other disgusting material that wasnt from my truck and start walking out of the ditch.
Believe it or not there is two stupid ass horses in the center of the road still living and creating a problem so I shoo them out of there.
I get over to where the other two cars are parked and this older lady freaks. All she can see is blood all over me ( I laugh now bcaz none of it is mine). Anyways it took the ambulance two freaking hrs to arrive to the scene the sherriff only took an hr.
The owner of the horses shows up on scene and starts yelling at me for killing his free- roaming horses which in Michigan is a no-no they have to be confined. While I am listening to his ranting I see this mini van racing up fast on us. Everyone is trying to get her to slow down which she didnt. The highlight was watching her hit one of the dead horses get airbourne and land into a parked state police car that just got to the scene.
Never thought a carcass could spin as much as that as that one did. Let alone see a Dodge Carvan be fast enough to get air.
All said two broken ribs a damaged hip and the Bronco was a lost :cry .
I should note the day I went to get my personal items out of it, the people at the storage yard thought they would see if the truck would start. It did turn over, and run after the accident but an hr later it burned to the ground.
Go figure. Guess I owe that one to luck.
Oldyeller 09-14-2005, 04:52 PM I used to drive a 73 El Camino w/ a 350. Until Some Guy in a pontiac pulled in front of me through an intersection making a left turn. He saw me and freaked out, stopped dead in front of me, doing 45 I pulled it hard right and missed him, I hit the concrete barrier and saw nothing but sky, The chainlink fence that runs along the overpass saved me from dropping 30 ft into freeway traffic. I wasn't wearing my seatbelt, somebody was looking out for me, walked away with some bruises, The Camino looked like a broken toothpick.
2ndHelping 09-24-2005, 11:21 PM My only Bronco crash consisted of the front wheel coming off at 40 mph. I had drove my g/f's brother to work, and was less than a mile from home. I touched the brakes to start slowing down for the turn I had to make 300 feet away when BANG!... the front dropped and pulled hard to the left. I managed to keep it straight and eased onto the left hand median. As I slowed down to about 30, I saw my wheel decided to maintain 40 and make an illegal passing manuver on the grassy median. Finally stopped, with the rotor buried in the grass & dirt no less. Somehow all the lugs had come loose and off, but the wheel had stayed on until the moment I touched the brakes. I found my wheel with a flashlight about another 300 feet up the road. Between my floor jack & the stock bottle jack, I got it up high enough to bend the rotor dust shield outta the way & put the wheel back on. Had to rob 1 lug each from the other wheels. All at 4am. I have this thing for gettin in trouble in the wee hours. :whiteflag
DeathRisen80 09-27-2005, 03:14 PM 5 days before I turned 17, I am heading to a Crownvic.net Meet and Greet, 6/25/05, just filled the tank after a full day of detailing, and waxing, and getting the stereo right. I was gonna show it at a monthly carshow at a Burger King parking lot in St. Petersburg w/ a few other Crown Vic guys and grab a bite to eat, look at some of the other fords and whatnot...well five minutes away from home I'm going 50, this QUEER in an '04 Windstar pulls out 25 feet in front of me creeping across the road not having ABS I brake hard as I can w/o locking 'em up don't wanna t-bone him in the driver's door...so I veer to the right thinking a sideswipe or hitting the bushes is better than full impact or opposite lane traffic... Well no luck, I slam into his rear axle spin him 2 full turns and a 1/2 onto the sidewalk of the other side of the road across 3 lanes, luckily he didn't hit another car... The airbags hit me harder then Muhammed Ali and then I whip back and smash a spider web crack in the windshield w/ the top of my head and my buddy takes a chunk outta the dash w/ his head, the rearview and radio facplate whiz past my head while I do some matrix shit to dodge them, my radar detector flew into the back window bent the case and snaped the cord, the rear passenger windows got knocked off track the trunk wouldn't open any more... when the dude jumped out of the car he admitted he didn't see me and a truck next to him waved him off to go in front of him. I go into a dollar store in the plaza he pulled out of to clean up the blood dripping from the cut and burn on my arm (airbag powder burns), the store goes nuts "hurry up your dripping on the floor" is all I get from them...not that I am about to pass out matters. I get back before anyone shows up beside the witnesses and call my mom on the cell and argue w/ her till the cops come that "yes, I DID REALLY wreck NO it ISN'T a joke!", the homo whom I hit's "significant other" arrived they hugged for like 10 min. and then waited in thier other car, making out and consoling whilst I am about to puke... I puch a tree out of anger and broke my hand... :doh0715: , and th EMS guys never check ANY of us out they just gave me a rag to wipe the blood and left... here's some pics...

Had a mountain face to the left, cliff to the right when suddenly the road gave way. I was headed to certain death when luckily my ass end hit a cluster of trees, at which point it started to roll towards a more gentle grade. First it rolled sideways and managed to go from sideways down the mountain to doing an endo with a complete 360* spin in mid air while doing the endo. Amazingley at the end of the last endo\mid-air spin, it ended up on all fours on another trail. THAT BEAT ANY ROLLERCOASTER RIDE I'VE EVER BEEN ON BY A COUNTRY MILE. had just quit smoking and drinking a week earlier. I don't know how I managed to not smoke, but I swilled several beers rather quickly after that. I even drove it out of there. This was about five years ago.
datapurge 10-19-2005, 11:27 PM not a bronco crash, but a jeep crash.... I was riding in the back seat of my buddy's jeep. W go crawling the side of some mountin in Arizona, half way up hs breaks just hit the floor, he tried to keep it in gear and just let gravity pull us down... we gained too much speed and it popped out of gear. Now we're going backwards down this mountain no breaks. We get to the bottom, and to avoid a crowd of people watching, he cuts the wheel just slightly... One or two bumps later the jeep starts to roll. I get ejected, took the seatbelt with me. I hit the ground with a few scrapes and bruises, and the jeep stops with the backseat ripped to shreds where it landed on some rocks, cactus and god knows what else. Good thing that seatbelt broke eh?

FordbyFord 11-09-2005, 01:08 AM That does bring a tear to my eye.
But I was going to pay off my registrastion one day, and I missed the road,so I turned down this dirt road I'm driving down it and theres a school bus in front of my droping kids off, I swear to god it was a red neck community no offense.I drove down the road to turn around and 3 dogs come running out and one of the dogs jumps up the side of my Bronco and scratched the shit out of the paint pissed me off so,I fishtailed it out of there goin bout 35 mph when a herd of deers run outin front of me so I slam on my brakes and try to avoid hitting them. They walk away I'm sitting in my truck saying to my how could this day get any worse??? Well I let off the brakes and hit the gas and I don't move so I get out of my truck to find I'm stuck in a 1 1/2 ditch running along side of the dirt path Fuggin great try to get my self out by throwin her in drive and reverse with 4wd and nothing call a tow truck pulls my out look at the side of my truck and it's ruined there was an old one foot tall steel fence hidin by shrubs so yeah now I got these scratches all up the side of the passangers side. And about 2 months ago my truck was sittin in my driveway due to engine problems I was at work and the winds were so strong that day it knocked my basket ball net into my passanger side door and left a beatiful mark for me
