I thought i saw it in a string here but can not find now. i thread of home made projects or tools I almost trusting my welding so i want to do some things on a bigger level. i been looking at hose hangers and reels for awhile and decided it would be a good self project. i found some scrap 1"X1" tube. i made this holder it has a foot level with the ground (i thinking of removing the decor rock so i went to true groound so i would not have to fix later)

this is with a 75' hose on it. it will hold 200' worth.

This has welded caps on the top of the tubes. this went better than i thought so ---project 2 a extension cord and air hose holder. this was out of some scrap too. i wish the back was talller to allow more space between rows but it works fine. the front stops are not straight but as a welding project it was good too.

Well I have no skills yet to do anything like that. My Welding Engineer friend though is another story. You got to admire a guy that can weld like this.

I made my welding cart from a design template found off one of the welding sites. Went down and bought some 1x1 1/8th inch stuff, welded the frame together, bought the wheels from harbor freight for about $6, used scrap plywood, and an old tennis racket for the handle:

nope I wouldnt. I stand by my statments of using tube to build anything, pipe belongs elsewhere.

no really all i use is tube for truck stuff so thats whats laying around and what my bender dies are for so.......

fyi I was going to build that thing out of chromo but figured it was a little overkill :goodfigne

Now, I don't want to start an arguement here, but IMO I think pipe would work just fine for a stereo stand. At least with my system. I only have a few hundred watt system and the stresses involved are minimul, actually even if you have a top of the line system, for what we actually use them for.... :histerica :histerica :histerica :histerica :histerica I still can't believe Blown got all huffy like he did.

Why wouldn't pipe work for that stereo stand? I think I have a bunch left over from my rollcage and steering link projects, so I may just whip one up.:toothless

My wife collects baskets. Long old booger or something like that. They're spendy but she always reminds me I don't have room to talk with my Bronco habit. She's right. And what the hell they little things are decorative. :toothless

I went to three auto parts stores today to get a ball joint spanner socket and not one of them had one. I know HF has them but they are to far away for just that. I got home and sacrificed an old cheap socket and made my own. It's ugly as ugly gets but it got the jop done.:toothless
