View Full Version : WTB: Casette Tapes!
Ubermich 01-06-2006, 02:20 PM Yes, I know I'm an odd one, but I'm looking for tapes. Anything good (See: Not Bruce Willis), preferably rock, but country is alright too. If you have anything along the lines of punk rock let me know.
Basically, if you still have any tapes in the attic, let me know what'cha got and how much'ya want. :toothless
Fordgirl 01-06-2006, 02:28 PM Too bad you didnt ask this a couple of weeks ago. I tossed out two boxes full of them just before Christmas.
bnkrtstk 01-06-2006, 02:55 PM I just threw out over 150 tapes. Mostly late 70's,80's and 90's rock and country. :banghead

Don't laugh....... but I've collected over 100 8 tracks tapes:wacko all good 70s rock, including many still unopened. My most prized ones are Jimmi Hendrix "Are You Experienced" and Iron Butterfly 'Inogoddadavida" both mint (still wrapped). it still freaks me out man:rockon
For those old enough to remember, I have a new Craig "Powerplay" 8 track player with bass boost.
Don't ask me why

WHY!?!? :banghead Ah well. Maybe someone will be about to throw out 150 tapes :toothless
I have a few from my parents that I dug out of the attic, but most of them suck (see: Bruce Willis). In fact, the best one of the bunch was the Outfield
Fordgirl 01-06-2006, 04:22 PM Oh man the Outfield, I used to love them. That was probably in my group that I threw out.

Steve83 01-07-2006, 02:45 AM Why buy prerecorded tapes? I ripped all my CDs to my HD, dl'ed everything else I like, and now that I have this, I can make a tape of exactly what I want whenever I want.

$120!? Painful. In time I'm planning on buying a cd changer that I can hide in the back. So if I was going to drop $120 I'd just go ahead and do that and be done with it. But I'm just looking for some cheapy tapes for now. (I actually feel guilty for blowing $24 on those tapes above :twak )

Looks cool Steve, how good is the sound quality when going from analog to digital.
Does it come with software that can filter out common analog noises?
Jim
Steve83 01-08-2006, 01:56 PM Jim
I'd never go A-D with it (play/rip); only D-A (record). It has some form of noise reduction, but not Dolby. I haven't had time to play with it much. I got it as a Xmas gift, but I've been having trouble with a DVD burner that I also got. I've been spending most of my free time trying to figure out how it can pass its self-test, but then only burn coasters.
Ubermich
You can make tapes without that - it's just quicker & easier with it. Just run your sound card output to your stereo's input & record.
