Hey Badass, have you seen any lifted Bronco's around you? I need to find more places to offroad. I am getting tired of going to the same place and tackling the same ruts. Where do you go?

ya, i know of the ones in my club. I gurantee you havent seen mine on the street as all it does is sit in the garage, wheel and ride on the trailer 90% of its life
I wheel in legal spots unlike you(IL has nothing) so that means haspin acres, badlands, wisconsin pipline, silver lake, mounds, various trails in michigan........

 I agree Illinois is a bad spot to have a big 4x4. Im in Naperville 30min from chicago and need a few good wheeling spots! Fill me in boys..

there has GOT to be something around there? hell an hour or two away, not 5+ hours to michigan to run the same trails I've been running for a few months now. I can show you some off the map private trails in the silver lake area, and LOTS more in the Detroit area... ones that most 4x4 owners who wheel don't even know exist. not to mention some that are pretty good (lifted 4x4 with balls to run one in particular in grand rapids michigan).

shit I haven't been to illinois in YEARS, I don't know where anything is in the chicago area... damn one way streets and stuff like that.

I'm runnin 10 inches of lift with a 460 for balls but michigan is to far away. the best bet the chicago area has is wisconsin. but that is still an hour or two away. i just hit new subdivision construction for mud and that is about it. their is some farm land but i don't like tearing it up. every now and then i will go to springfield (where i am from) and hit some private land. that is about it for around here. their are some silly jeep clubs around that wont tell me were they run, i think their scared to get shown up by a monster.. or scared they will get stuck in MY ruts!!

which clubs? some around here run on private member land and some rent lad for there outings(GLJT) My club doesnt tell outsides where we wheel for a good reason. All it does is have people showing up ou tthere when where not there and then that gets us in trouble with the landowners we have a deal with and then gets us kicked out.
Irrisponsable wheelrs are what gets land taken away. 4 wheeling in a construction site isnt good for us in general, either is going in farmers land. I would never be caught dead in a farmers field being we are one. you guys have no idea how much a set of ruts when its wet in the spring damages a field. It then makes the farmer waste time and money to go out there with machinery and fix them. on chicago 4x4.com where i suggested bio go we(the admin, BOD of club) will delete any post we see concerning illegal wheeling as we are sick of the bullshit it gathers from the media. Do you guys think t hat that helps us gain a real legal spot to wheel? Are either of you members of ILFWDA? you should do some research and see what they are doing to try to get legal spots, but it wont happen if people like BBB are out just tearing up and getting chased off of private land.

big trucks suck big gas, and cant travel far. Own up and park them and buy a trailer and truck and tow them around.

I have checked out Chicago4x4.com and that wasen't much help either! And YES i do know how fun it is to repair a field, my uncle in springfield farms almost 9,000 acres every year. and in the fall and early spring he lets me and my friends turn some of his land into a mud bogging heaven. and every spring i have to break out the dozer and clean it all up. and i do see your point about secret wheeling spots but cant say i much like it! I don't like the club sceen and don't feel that i need to be on one to wheel in my area. So let me know of any private spots. Oh one last thing, their is a farmer in Joilet that will let you run on his land for $20 a day. He also has a dozer to pull you out if you get super stuck.

sorry, but im not telling the spots where our club has permission to wheel to another person outside the club so he can go ruin it for us with the landowner. We go out there on certain dates and times and the landowner know sthis and expects us out there then, and only then.

there were a few spots in the detroit area just like that. and it was run that way for a good reason. I agree that it should be kept that way to preserve it.

There is a great place maybe 10 minutes away from my house that is awsome! I do go up to Wisconsin sometimes, my mom owns 30 acres. But that is a 1 and a half hour drive. I would rather drive 10 minutes than 90-especially with my gas mileage. The farmer that owns the land close to my house does not really seem to care. People have been wheeling there for years. I have heard of the pipe line, maybe one day I'll make it up there. But for now it's the "illegal" place I go-been working fine for over a year, only been caught once. IL sucks for wheeling! The lift laws suck also! I would reccomend staying away from this state if you have a big truck. Sorry but I am sticking with the "illegal" spots ;)

Yup. Not much 'round Illinois for great wheelin'. We're too flat.

There are some "mild" places to trail ride. I run my huntin' pup once a
week in an area that's county owned. I checked with the local authorities
about it BEFORE going and got the go-ahead. But for the
challengin' stuff yer gonna have to go to some of the places Zach has
mentioned.

Hey guys....just browsing through the older posts and thought I'd chime in....to introduce myself I'm hopefully going to be a future bronco chick...('90, 5.0, 5speed, 3"body, 33's....). There are several excellent trails down in my part of Illinois (wayyyy southern...check out the zip code 62919) and to make it all the better...the local cops usually go with us if we all go in a group. Anyways....just thought I'd say hello and thanks for all of the great info on here!!!!!!!

The badlands suck for trucks. better trails with the atv's and dirt bikes. Plus, there are too many people on atv's to worry about hitting rather than having fun.
