Ugh, I hate Mapquest and their goofy ass directions.

Dude, just come out I-20, then take I-285 - I don't know if it'll be 285North, or 285East, I've never come into Atlanta from that side, but you want to eventually get on I-75 North, then take exit....uh, 261 I think, Delk Rd. And the exit splits, you want Delk Rd East.

The addy is 2769 Delk Rd, Marietta. I'm sure DixieDoll can give better directions, I think she's been there.

You would take 20 north/East to 75 north.
You ca pick up Broncobill on your way!

MM

09-30-2003, 08:44 PM
yeah..somebody may have to pick me up...lol my Bronco took an oil dump this weekend...front cranshaft seal is spitting black blood! Kinda bummed ..Maybe it's not critical but I don't want to make a mess of my driveway! I just dont know how serious it is at this point..definately thinking of coming to the meet though.... I have 3 other vehicles to get me there...

SMOOTH
09-30-2003, 11:29 PM
Drive the Miata, we could use it to show off our flexing skillz! Let me know what comes of the oil trouble. Not sure I could make it out this weekend but perhaps next. I've never heard of a "front" crank bearing seal, but the oil pan gasket is easy enough. It would be a good time to replace the pump and pick up tube, but that is a PITA, but worth it. Chances are either or both will fail soon with the age and milage possibly on that truck.

MM

10-01-2003, 08:09 AM
yes.. it seems to be coming from literally... the cranshaft... you can watch it form a drip right under the crank behind the pulley.... says you have to take out rad....power sterr. pmp...ac comp...alt... remove ac brackets... reome front cover and crank pulley.... and wallaa...front crankshaft oil seal.. apparantly it has some sort of resseced flange that require a special tool to remove.... sounds like a good job for a screwdriver to pry it out.. and find something round to pound it back in

God, what a headache! Sorry to hear it! BTW I was going to cry yesterday. A few weekends ago, I spend 8 hours in the woods and see nothing. I drive Heather to the dentist yesterday after work and there is a doe and two fawns eating IN my apartment complex. I've seen them before. But this was the longest I've been able to watch them. They let me drive to within 15 feet of them before they decided to run off. I need to get back in the woods!

First off welcome to the site and the Dixie chapter...Go introduce your self to the gang in "Introductions", then go vote for FOTM under that thread.
To answer your question, we'll need a lil more info...Where ya located? (Me and Smooth are talking about putting together a Tenn. trailride and that should be lots closer for you)

Okay, I have confered this with Blaze and we agreed that this might be a good forum to discuss the Dixie chapter wheeling event next spring/summer at Tellico. Now everyone who is attending the M & G may not go to the trails, and not everyone on the trails will be at the M & G, but I thought this might be a good place to start hashing out the ideas and plans for next years ride. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone. I am actually passing up the oportunity to ride shotgun on 96BigBronco's trail rig through the hard stuff at Tellico that day. But I feel it's important that I be there to meet everyone and to help facilitate where I can. I will also mention this on the Trail ride thread, but in the mean time, ya'll start getting your ideas, dates, plans, thoughts, etc. in your head so we can start making the trail ride happen.

To start with we need to look into what it takes to as a club become a member of SFWDA. These are the guys that help keep tellico clean and open, along with fighting legisation wanting to close lands.

Since this would be the first event keeping it low key would be best. I.E. don't over do it trying to get sponces and gifts and stuff to give away.

1st. Thing is to get a rought idea of how many will be attending.
2nd. Pick a weekend
3rd. Check web sites of other Bronco, Jeep, Land rover, and scout clubs and make sure that no other BIG events are going that weekend.
4th. Contact Steve at Crawford camp and see if he is open that weekend. If we do like the Fawl crawl and offer to let him cook dinner one night he might be more likly to welcome us in his camp.

5th orginize ride time and events. It would be nice to allow every one to be able to run trails and still be able to watch all the madness in the camp area.

Just my thoughts.

Because I'm the Bronco Master and you are measily Noobie! :goodfinge

Actually it's based off of your post, the more you post the better your title becomes. So share that wealth of knowledge you have.

However, you should be careful, there have been some who have wanted to change their title, and those with the power to do so, have given them "special" titles. Ask Astra about her avatar when she first got here.

You are not a noobie, that can be seen by your rig specs and collections of Ford vehicles!

1st. Thing is to get a rought idea of how many will be attending.Thats what the trailride post is for, to get a rough head count...if people wanna go they need to sound off there..Of course it prolly wouldn't be a bad idea to start a newer thread discussing just the details or to get more input
2nd. Pick a weekend Thats for sure...and the sooner the better...
3rd. Check web sites of other Bronco, Jeep, Land rover, and scout clubs and make sure that no other BIG events are going that weekend. Good idea, that will at least let us know how crowded we could be...keep in mind though, we're planning way in advance here, so we need to be flexable in case some other club plans on the same date with out checking

Just my thoughts. Well, they were good ones and we need all we can get between now and then. The meet & greet will hopefully have enough in attendance to really hash out some of these details. Thanks for the input!! :beer

This would be my fault, I had posted on the trail ride thread the following:
Well, I'm going to throw this out here, and Blaze can chime in as he pleases, but we should start by getting an active, semi-committed head count. Once we have established the count, we can decide the size of the beast. From there we can decide if we need to pass out some smaller responsiblities (i.e. food, prizes, organizations, stickers, t-shirts, etc.). If the size does dictate some combined efforts we should probably try to have a committee meeting.

What he is talking about here is Crawford has a rock garden, log challange, mud pit, and ramp. So if we wanted to organize some friendly competition we could. So we would want to organize trails rides so that people could be back in time to watch and/or participate.

Hope that helps!:thumbup

Ahh OK, I do remember someone mentioning some stuff at camp now that you bring it up...thats cool. I've always wanted to put my rig on a ramp anyway....
But it's really no-ones "fault" I wasn't flaming :banghead (please tell me it didn't come off that way):banghead just letting some people know where we are at /going to on this whole ride thing. I think we need more feedback just like BB96 gave us....it was great thinking and the more heads we have on this the better.
When I say it's not gonna be that big yet I just mean with raffles and sponsors and such. I'm still gonna try and contact Bronco Driver mag and see if they wanna do a write up, and hopefully from that publicity we can get to bigger things....:thumbup

Keep the ideas coming folks...:beer

www.Tellico4x4.com is the "official" website of the Tellico Park and I think there's a calendar where they post all the big events, and when people are planning on being there.

That is the offical site but not all groups will post events there. I know that for the past two years when we have had the ECBR free4All at tellico / Crawford's we have not posted on their site. During these events we have had 200+ broncos and 400+ people in that area.

Smooth and I just got back for eht 2BigBronco event in which BD was in taking pics and stuff. Smooth or I could contact him and ask if they would be willing to send someone once we get a date set up.

well, the kit comes w/ brackets to raise the front, and if you play around with the holes in the rear brackets and your rear bumper, you can get it looking close to stock.
I can't remember which ones exactly, but i just started experimenting with combinations of bracket and bumper mounting holes and i got my f-150's rear bumper looking almost stock...

maybe this helped :shrug

Adam,

That's alright, most importantly you'll want to make the trail ride next spring or summer. That will be the event not to miss! We'll put one back for you!
