View Full Version : Donations for RLKBOB.
Bronco Rob 03-20-2006, 10:08 PM As you have probably seen from this thread:
http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=62750
RLKBOB (Bob's) house recently burnt basically to the ground. He and his family are currently living in a hotel until things can get around to being rebuilt.
He lost his pets, his tools, and most of his personal belongings (he did manage to save the Bronco!!).
Bob helped me out when i needed help, and i would like to help him out. I am posting my paypal address. Once the donations are done, i am going to get the money to him. He currently doesn't have anything set up at a bank, and from the sounds of it, he isn't going to have much time.
Like i said in the post linked above, I don't consider this just a forum, i would do as much as i could to help a fellow FSB Brother out.
My paypal address is scorpion1717@AOL.com.
If you don't have paypal, please feel free to PM me if you want to donate, i assume we can figure something out.
Thank you guys.
Calisa1969 03-20-2006, 10:17 PM Like i said in the post linked above, I don't consider this just a forum, i would do as much as i could to help a fellow FSB Brother out.

You might want to do like Joe did, and only post the people who want to be.
Just a thought.
Bronco Rob 03-20-2006, 10:45 PM Thanks, let me know in the Paypal if you don't want me to list you.
I appreciate you guys doing what your doing.
Ironclad 03-20-2006, 10:48 PM What a nightmare....
Sent what I could. God Speed to ya Bob.
Gacknar 03-20-2006, 10:53 PM I have a PM in to you Rob.
Question.
Can rob see this thread?
I think it would be better if he couldnt.
Just an anonamouse donation from FSB.
We can all gloat about who gave more Yada Yada Yada.
But I think the donation to Bob should just be from the sight and it's members, no names.
Joe, is it possible to make this thread invisible to BOB?
ANYTHINGFORABUCK 03-20-2006, 10:55 PM it might be too late by then but i can send some this saturday when my direct deposit goes through. i hope it wont be too late....
Bronco Rob 03-20-2006, 10:56 PM I don't think he is going be on for a while, but ya, if there is a possible way to blank it out to him, that would be cool, he really doesn't even want anything started, but like i said, he helped me when i was down, and i want to help him.
I am gonna leave this open for about 7 days, so if you aren't getting anything til this weekend, feel free to let me know, i will probably close the thread this time next week. I think a week should be enough time, right?
GearHead 03-20-2006, 11:13 PM count me in, also, is there anything his family, or kids need?
clothes, toys, etc? is there any addy of a close by family member that items could be sent too?

I think Sewiv lives rather close to him, he'd have to volunteer his information, it's up to him as far as physical donations, unless someone else lives close.
Bronco Rob 03-20-2006, 11:20 PM You guys Rock! All this within about an hour of posting this.
If i ever have to go to war, i want you guys in my foxhole!
Gacknar 03-20-2006, 11:36 PM If i ever have to go to war, i want you guys in my foxhole!Um...
You dont want me.
I have a bad blatter and I fart alot. :whiteflag
Seriously thoe.
Bob has helped me many times, (and we have disagreed a few times) if a few $ and some of my time will make this tragedy a little more bearable for him and his family, then I will help anyway I can.
And I would ask those long time members who have also been helped by him to give what you can, if nothing more than support.
Anything that will help.
(A little suport goes a long way, and it means just as much)
Ok. I shut up now
Bronco Rob 03-21-2006, 12:07 AM Yea, we've got some pretty intense donations, anything will help him along. I know not everyone has the cash to spare, but even $5 will help.
We're a good group, and we take care of each other.
-Spazmatic- 03-21-2006, 12:23 AM Damnit. Rob, I'm going to get some money to you. I don't know how, I don't know exactly when, but I want to help out as much as possible. I feel that I've been given way too much on this forum already, I need to give a little. I'll be getting in touch with you soon about some sort of help.
You can count on me, I will do whatever it takes, whether it be walking around town asking for donations, or whatever.
sewiv 03-21-2006, 12:39 AM I think Sewiv lives rather close to him, he'd have to volunteer his information, it's up to him as far as physical donations, unless someone else lives close.
Yeah, I'm about 10 miles away. I'm happy to act as delivery boy/shipment point, but I'd kind of like to hear from Bob first as to what is needed, so we don't get a whole ton of stuff he can't use (though of course I could donate it to a charity of some sort, I imagine). I've PMed him, but haven't heard anything yet. You might call him, Rob, and ask what he could use, besides $$$. I don't have his number. (I've actually never met him, I'm fairly new here and just sent him a PM about a month ago saying we should get together some time, but it hadn't happened yet.)
Petersburg is a real small town, so it's possible that he's got an address that you could ship directly to, as well. (Us small town folk tend to stick together and watch out for our own. Kind of like this board, but not as cool. :toothless )
Bronco Rob 03-21-2006, 12:43 AM The problem is, right now he is living in a hotel, so i don't know what he would do with donations as of right now.
I will give him a call in a couple days to see how he is doing again, and see if there is anything he needs physically, and then if it is allright with you, we will you use you (Sewiv) as the shipping point.
Davids78Bronco 03-21-2006, 12:44 AM I've made a temporary sub-forum, and am testing out the accessibility on Gacknar. If this works as well as I expect it too, I'll allow him back in, and deny Bob accecess here, until this is all over for him
redwagon 03-21-2006, 12:45 AM $50.00 sent via paypal

Davids78Bronco 03-21-2006, 12:49 AM No sir... I'm still waiting to see if Gacknar can get in here, or not. If he can't, then I did this right :brownbag

godless 03-21-2006, 04:23 PM Wow, I am so sorry to read this. We all go through tough times.
Jackhart helped me out when I lost a pet, so I am going to pay that forward and pay the same respect to RLKBOB.
You should have a paypal for $50.00 in just a moment.
I wish I could do more, but I hope this helps.
Good luck Bob and family.
EDIT: Paypal is sent. Take care.
Bronco Rob 03-21-2006, 04:46 PM $785.00

Audra 03-21-2006, 09:43 PM I have a heck of a lot of really expensive hardly worn little girl's clothes. I share custody with the ex, so as you can imagine shes only wearing my clothes half of the time to begin with to boot. Let me know when you guys figure out somewere where we can send things.
On the whole ex note, (sorry :topic ), is there somewhere I can change my username? My name is no longer Dobles :shrug

Bronco Rob 03-22-2006, 09:09 PM $905.00
Let's keep it going guys!
Bronco Rob 03-22-2006, 09:54 PM I just talked to Bob on the phone for about twenty minutes.
His lil girl is being taken care of really well, the red cross, family, friends and co-workers have all pitched in and he says she is taken care of when it comes to toys and clothes, are as all the other children.
He is doing well, so is the wife, but they lost stuff that has a lot of meaning more than anything else. His wife removed her wedding ring to bath the night before, and unfortunately forgot to put them back on, so they were lost in the fire.
His insurance is covering just about everything he lost. Which is good, there is already talk of rebuilding the house, and when they are going to start.
We have all had our spiffs regarding our opinions on this site, but it's nice to help a fellow FSB'er when we can. The emotional stress of something of this magnitude is taking it's effect on him, he's having trouble sleep, as well as the kids are having trouble with that, and with things like losing their pets.
We may not replace all that he lost, but it's nice to know that there are people out there nice enough like you guys and gals to help him out. He helped me out when i was down. Thank you for everything you guys have donated to this point, it is greatly appreciated.
Bill@setel.com 03-22-2006, 11:03 PM My budget is pretty tight until after tax time. But what other things can they use? I'd be more than happy to box stuff up and send. :shrug

He appreciates the offers of items, but right now he is kind of stuck in a hotel for the next couple of weeks, and then he is having a mobile home moved onto his property, so space is kind of limited.
The kids are pretty much taken care of, as are Bob and his wife. Once again, thank you for thinking of him. Keep him in your prayers, they are good people.
pjmorgan22 03-27-2006, 05:26 PM I'm a little slow on the uptake...but better late than never right?

Bronco Rob 04-11-2006, 02:45 PM Dear Bob, Your brothers and sisters at Fullsize Bronco are thinking about you and your family. You and your family are in our prayers. We know that a monetary gift cannot replace some of the things that you lost, but we would like to donate this sum to you to help you and your family heal from this terrible loss. We hope that you rebound quickly, and that your family doesn't suffer any long term affects from this. Enough of that mushy stuff, just don't go blow this on cheap women and cheaper beer! Sincerely, Bronco Rob and all the members of FSB.com
Paypaled him the money today.
LarryP 04-11-2006, 11:02 PM That is just Beautiful. and in to late
Gacknar 04-11-2006, 11:54 PM I just wish I could have gave more.

Good on you Rob for orginizing this. :beer
Bronco Rob 04-11-2006, 11:56 PM It was kind of funny, he e-mailed me and asked "Do you think the guys at FSB would be upset if i used like $300 of this to get my Bronco running again?"
I told him that the money was his to use as he see fit, seeing that the insurance wouldn't cover it, i didn't see a problem with it.
Gacknar 04-11-2006, 11:59 PM It was kind of funny, he e-mailed me and asked "Do you think the guys at FSB would be upset if i used like $300 of this to get my Bronco running again?"I would absolutly not be upset.
