No, but the company that holds the logging rights can do as they wish. The closure is a combination of the area around the lower lake being thrashed, and some jack ass rolled his truck off the first rock climb. Last word was that he was suing the logging company.

if it aint there is no such thing as 'closed' to me

You know that this is one of the reasons that so many trails are being closed; cuz people disregard gates and signs.

that arguement makes no sense at all.
in order to disregard a sign or gate
THE FAWKING TRAIL WOULD HAVE TO BE CLOSED ALREADY

the reason things get closed down is apathy

sheeple

as a citizen that is your/my land, enjoy it before it is cut down

It has been closed since November 10/2002.

Apathy? Well, I guess so.

Don't get me wrong here, I want all these trails to stay open just as much as the next wheeler, but it's not that simple. There are politics involved, so it takes a long time to follow the correct channels. Key programs will be our friends in the coming years. And because folks disregard these rules, closures increase and key programs get lost in the shuffle. Eagle Ridge was put on the back burner after the gate was torn down at least 10 times. Blue is major iffy right now.

You do know that logging is why we enjoy the trails that we do. :)

i don't understand the "it's my land,I'll do with it as I please until it's gone" thing. it's seems a little too short sighted to me

I think the 'politics' and 'key programs' are awfully short sighted.
they will continue restricting you until it is all closed.
A 'key program' is a defeat.
You just gave control of your/my land to the beaurocrat.

I respect a guy cutting the gate more then your 'key program'

Leave the BS for the BC4x4 trail talk forum

I hope this will remain a healthy debate. :)

m j, I don't know you at all, but the impression you leave with me is: you sound like all the young folk that I deal with at work (no offence intended). I had a similar outlook when I was in my early 20's. I have been wheeling since I was 16 (now 34), and been on dirt bikes since I was 10. Over the years I have seen a drastic change in our sport. Yes more trails are being closed. But while a small group are busting their asses to keep the trails open, the younger generation chooses not to wait, and does the "it's my land, I'll do with it as I please until it's gone". These actions are taking us backwards. I respect you desire m j, but I don't condone any of your actions.:)

As for key programs; wouldn't you like to know that said key program would be in affect and you can go do that trail any time you want, no questions asked? Sounds like a wheelers dream, eh?

If you ever get a chance to go to the US and wheel, do it. Or at least read about it. They have a whole differenct outlook. Keys, gates, work together as a group; power in numbers. Hopefully we will get there one day.

Oh, and as for your gate cutting comment; I won't hide the fact that I have reported several individuals for such activities. I hope you are joking around. :)

BS? IMO this is a healthy topic, and a dangerous one too. ;)

IMO it is just turning this "say hello" thread into a "bickering" thread.

Start a new one for some trail talk then

well broncoboy,
I am older then you.
I am also not a rat, like you.
If I see someone doing something that I feel strongly against, I tell them.
How can you condone my actions when you in fact are unaware of any of my actions.

no, I do not think that sounds like a wheelers dream.
It sounds like a prisoners dream.
a wheelers dream is 'no gates, no keys, wheel when and where I want'
you are a collaborator.
you are helping them take our land away.
you do not speak for me.
