this is a good shoot for th eguys who have no idea what you are talkiung about when we try explaining the driverside axle tubeis longer on the 77-79 HP D60's
good odd pic since most guys dont have two dana 60's laying around. :goodfinge :goodfinge :goodfinge :goodfinge
the 87 axle is in front, the 78 axle is in the back.

Just how much is the differnece in the offset? Wouldnt that cause potential driveline problems? (Or would that only be at high speeds?)

The older style shafts are 0.6" longer overall than new ones.

another stupid fact.
the 77.5-79 dana 60 fronts use 1/2" wheel studs like a stock bronco
the 87 uses 9/16's wheel studs like the 10.25.

How 'bout tube thickness or O.D. Zach? I know the '87's a bit larger

i didnt look at the OD diameter acuaratly enough, but
useless D60 facts. a complete 77.5 D60 front weighs 540 lbs.
also note the casting difference bewtween the 87right) and the 78(left)
the breather on the 87 is on top of the housing, as the 78 is almost at the tube
