BadassBronco

like most old radios mine in my tow rig died. Being cheap(3 modded rigs makes you very broke) i decided a junkyard radio would work. I found one out of a 92 bronco and it looked the same, but when i went to put it in the dash of my 1990 it would not work. The 92 has brackets obn the side where its a spring loaded deal that holds it in the dash. These cannot be easily removed so i left them there.
To remove the old radio out of the 1990 i had to remove the 4 screws that held it to the dash. To make this work i just took the two brackets that hold the radio to the dash off the radio and bolted them by themselves to the dash. I then pushed the newer radio in and it made a real snug fit that did not allow it to move side to side or up. it could still come foreward ther,e but with the dash bezel in place it wont go anywhere.
the radio was then a tight squeeze into the dash, but it worked great, and cheap.
