I've had a lot of people unsure of the length to order, so I added a new "kit" to my site:

http://fordfuelinjection.com/images/alt-cable2.jpg
5ft of 2 gauge heavy duty cable rated -60°F to 220°F.

Nice. Wish I'd bought that.

Do you sell the components? I'd like a lug for the megafuse block and some heatshrink, so I can shorten my too long charge cable.

Excellent.

(I have to say, that's some impressive response time to a customer-expressed desire.)

What do you need the boots for?
I typically only use Red boots because ground isn't dangerous.

question....what are you using for connections to the battery itself? like battery terminals? I need to get this kit from you but would also like to order everything to redo my starting/charging system for 2 batterys at the same time.

you can pm me some info if you dont want to clog up this thread. I want to do this soon and pretty much planned to get it from you so let me know

3G's all hook up the same, only change between vehicles is how much old junk there is to remove.
You can get rid of all the old wiring and regulator.

Must have a Propane torch for assembly

So what kind of torch, like the small ones you can buy at Home Depot/Lowes for soldering copper pipe?

I use a larger Bernzomatic for these cables, but I guess the smaller one Dustin has would work.

Ive done them with it, just takes a little longer to heat up. I solder alot of stuff with my little torch, even have a soder tip for it

So how do you solder those? Just heat up the lug with the solder pellet in it, then put the wire in while the solder is liquid?

I've never soldered those battery lugs before, just the smaller gauge wires.

OK Ryan,
I just ordered...
160 amp side mount alt
200 amp rectifier
2 1/4 serp pully
and the
charge cable kit.
It is being shipped to Christopher Harper in San Diego CA.
Is there any way you or your associates put 225A fuses in the kit instead of 175?
Chris

Fireguy50

Yes I can send you 225A fuses
Just keep the cable as short as possible!

I ordered the longest prefab style and was planning to just cut it down if it was too long. Any problem with that?

Fireguy50

you need the correct lugs or it will ruin the quality of the product.
