Hey is it illegal not ot have a front bumper? I want to remove my front bumper and mount my HI-lift jack there instead like some guys on here have. Thanks in Advance!:thumbup

I don't think there is a law concerning the front bumper. You need to have a front license plate so you'll have to figure out where to put that. I don't have a front bumper, it's more of a winch mount, and my front tires are completely exposed. The sherriff's and state patrol I see on a regular basis don't even give me a second look.

Colorado let's you get by with a lot of vehicle modifications and won't give you any greif unless you're involved in an accident and the modification made injury and/or property damage worse. Then they might hang you out to dry.

There is a link available on colorado4x4.org to the Colorado vehicle statutes. They're relatively easy to read. I keep loosing the link so I don't have it available. Search for lexis nexis and it might come up. If not, ask the board for the Colorado vehicle laws link.
