Last week I ordered a small CO2 tank valve from these guys

When I made the order, it doesnt give you any pricing on shipping.
I called them and asked wht the shipping costs would be to my zip code, etc. blah blah blah.
The guy said it isnt a heavy item, so just a few bucks.
I made the order.
Today, instead of getting the package I get a receipt. I open it up and it shows that they charged me $13.00 for shipping.
Before I ordered I did read their shipping policies:
http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/shipnorderinfo.htm
It states:
There won't be any handling charges or extra charges added to the UPS or USPS current pricing as determined by the weight and size of your shipment. Basically, we are going to get your order to you as cheap and reliably as possible.
I ship plenty of items through USPS, and UPS all the time. In fact I think the last York 210 I sold shipped for like $15.00 and I would be willing to bet that the York 210 is ten times heavier, and the packaging I pack it in is bigger.
I think $13.00 for a small brass fitting is absurd. Especially when it isnt expedited. Just normal ground shipping.
I checked with another web site and they ship theres at around $7.70 UPS.
That sounds much better to me, but their initial cost for the same part was more.
Now I know these guys arent the first internet company to show the product price lower, then jack up shipping to make money, but when you tell your customers in writing that you specifically dont do that, that is when I have a problem.
Once I get the product, I am going to take the same exact box before its opened to UPS (They are just down the street from me), and I am going to get a quote on shipping to the address where it was mailed from.
Then I will post it here, and I will email them my findings to see what they will do about it.
If they shipped using USPS, then I will do the same thing with them.
I hve shipped hundreds of items, and another odd thing about this is that you rarely get an even number. I cant remember a time where I got an even number. Its usually "$7.70, $10.85, $15.65, etc.
The only time I have changed the shipping price on anything I sold is if it was a few cents. (For example: $10.70, I would tell the buyer $11.00) NOT A BIG DEAL! I wouldnt tell him/her $27.70)
Well I am dont with this rant for now, I will post back later.
