I am waiting final confirmation from the server folks but starting in the next day or two i am adding proactive server monitoring to our server. What this means is hopefully things like last night wont happen where for whatever reason the site goes down and I cant do anything about it until the next day, same thing if I am at work and happen to be busy and cant check in.

Proactive server monitoring will monitor the server for 3 different services that may fail, if one or all of the three fail then the server people are notified automatically and they can restart those services ASAP. As an example, last night the site was down for close to 10 hours, with this service it would have been down no more than 15-30 minutes if that.

It will cost us another 15.00 per month on top of everything else but as we grow and have members that pay to upgrade I think its only fair that each of you expect the site to be up as much as possible as well as relieving me of a 24 hour concern I cant always monitor myself.

this is now active so we'll see how it works, the long outages dont happen very often but this should help prevent them in the future
