I've been wanting to try out my new 4.56 gears and rear Eaton locker. I went up to Idaho Springs and drove the trail to Georgetown. This is not a hard trail, but it's pretty fun for being so close to Denver. There are lots of side roads that looked like they might be more challenging.

Anyone close to Denver looking for an easy, scenic trail might give this one a shot.

Is it passable after Elk season, or does it close in the winter?

The trail might be covered in snow after elk season. I tried to go over on Easter Sunday one year (was pissed that I did not go to Moab), and could not get very far. In fact, there were small sections of snow last weekend, but nothing that would stop a Bronco.

Just so that no one thinks this is a hard trail, the picture in my first post was the hardest part of the trail. Like I said, there are lots of side roads that would be more challenging.

I'd be game to go up again.

Here are a couple more pictures.

I might be heading South to the Springs to meet up with a buddy this weekend, on my way down or up I could go probably. Just a short notice thought.

That is a great trail. Last time I ran it was in '78 or '79 in a Toyota FJ40.

I don't have any free weekends until after hunting season, but this does sound like an interesting weekend trip. Maybe next spring.

Anybody down for weekend of 3/13-3/16?

You mean April 13-16th, March 13-16th is not a weekend. Either way, I will be there.

...I remember a time back when I was a boy...they had just come out with this new fangled thing they called the wheel...I remember it distinctly, cuz...just the week before they came out with dirt...and I turned to my Pappy and sez..."Pappy...now that there is one heck of a combo."

Then Pappy hit me with a stick, cuz that's what Pappy did to show his luv and said "shut up boy I'm tryin' to get this "fire thing" to work".

...BTW guys. Incase you didn't know...Dave is old.

Scott, you are only as old as your jokes. Which makes me about 150! I like hanging out with the young whipper-snapper, and their hot girl friends.

Smart man,

Girls are fun to look at, and they are pretty good at cleaning.

Heh, I went up that trail yesterday, the 15th, spur of the moment. Was a nice easy trail with neat views. :)

my other club (RMFTC) sponsors that trail, we usually hit it 3-4 times a year.
