I was a little bored the other day so I decided to go window shopping for hopped up parts for my bronco. Particulary the K&N filter cone. I went stopped at GI Joe's and the auto parts boy had no clue what he was doing. I asked him how much the filter cone itself was and he looked on his computer and said it was 35 bucks. I gave him the part number for the super fancy filter with the custom goose neck and cold air thing and he said that was..........35 bucks as well. I knew that was a 200 dollar part, so me being the guy I am, put that super spendy part on special order and pre-purchased it for 35 bones. I'll keep ya'll posted on whats goin on, but now I'm kickin back waiting for 2 weeks for it to show up...this is ganna be kick ass.

They will notice the mistake when the part comes in, and you will either have to pay or they will return the original amount you paid.

BTW- I think what you're doing is actually condsidered theft.

I just think it's real damn dishonest, hope the poor kid doesn't lose his job because you chose to take advantage of his lack of knowledge.

Good job! Way to fight the man!!!

You tell em Einstein. Of course, only if by "the man" you mean the owner of a parts store that is going to lose money over it. You're right, business should be exploited, I'm sure the poor kid that's gonna lose his job has billions of dollars and no family to feed. :goodfinge

what i didnt say was the manager on duty approved it as well. I dont view it as stealing because 1. that was the price quoted 2. the cust. service confirmed it 3. the manager called me back and confirmed it was 35 bucks and 4 the guy should stay away from the weed.

I gotta agree. How far out of your way do you need to go to tell them they don't know their job? I am not for ripping anyone off, but how many times do you have to confirm something before your allowed to buy for the price they are telling you? I have had simular things happen with electronics and building materials.

I'm still betting that when they get it in their hands they will somehow find out its true value. Maybe not, but who knows.

How the hell is that theft? Thats like saying i'm stealing from Harbor Freight everytime I go in there because I use 20 percent off coupons for everything I buy. They don't work in the computer, the computer wont accept them even after manual entry, and the manager has to come override it.

Seriously if it actually comes in, I got 50 paypal bucks with your name on it to order me one...

i think everyone who chimed in on the whole theft and dishonest crap is full of it. If you went and bought the K&N FIPK for you truck and it rang up 35 bucks you would buy it too. so dont give out any of your holier than though BS cause that is all it is. If he has to pay the rest he does if not the store just lost about 230 bucks or so. Get over yourselves

They will catch the mistake when the part comes in, it happens more often than you think.

Some states have laws which state if you knowingly take goods for the wrong price you are in fact commiting theft. I don't know the exact wording as I am not a cop or lawyer.

I'm not saying you should or shouldn't do it. I know I wouldn't because karma is a bitch. With my luck I would install it on my truck and the next day the truck would catch fire.

Just because you would do it, don't try to force your low moral standards on me. Wouldn't do it, in my eyes it's bad karma, you're asking for trouble. In fact last month the wife and I got under charged on our new box spring, we went back and told them, the sales manager thanked us, and while we didn't get it for the low low price, he did give us 10% off for being honest. And now I (pardon the pun) rest easy.
