I just sent the guy a message, he has relatively good feedback, his ID must be hijacked.

It also says it's a diesel with 56+ million miles.

Yeah, something's definitely messed up there.

(Although, if your truck *were* for sale for $1000, Oscar, I don't think I could get the money out of the bank fast enough.)

I agree with Ralph, same thing happened to me a few weeks ago.

Same thing happened to me with a '53 Chevy, ebay fixed everything when I finally got hold of them.

They can be a beyatch to get ahold of, and this guy is going to be charged the $30.00 for the listing.

Yeah, I spent about 35 minutes in a chat with one of their reps explaining the problem. Someone had been listing leather wallets and purses using my user ID..They reposted like 25 times. I even got an online invoice from ebay for all of the posts. In the end they credited my account, and assured me that none of my personal information had been compromised. Needless to say, I don't feel too comfortable with them any more.

Somebody used my user ID to buy a 66 Chevy Impala about a month ago. They raised the last bid $3000. At first ebay wasn't much help but they took care of it after I complained enough. Oh, and the guy selling the car wasn't very happy.:twak

Make sure it's not a word or name that can be guessed or be in a dictionary. Insert numbers and special characters like $ or # that will make auto scanning tools have a harder time desiphering it.

The latest scams aren't hacking or guessing...they are from spoof emails that look like ebay messages...some of them are really well done. If you get a message from a member about something random, and you click respond now...look where you are redirected (the URL) If it is outside of ebay, they are logging your id and password (if you enter it). If it does something weird after you try to login, you've just been ripped. Go directly to ebay and change all your chit...couldn't hurt to change your paypal stuff too (since they can do the most damage there).

Had it happen to me last month...the damn clone sight was unbelievably real.

Best way to stay protected is to turn all notifications on, that way you will get an email any time you submit a listing or bid on something.

Best thing to do is NEVER click from an email. ALWAYS open a new browser and type in www.ebay.com . Works every time for me and after all those emails asking for information, the information was still in the account safe and sound. If Ebay needs the info they can get it from their database.

Definitely, always look at the referrer address when clicking on a hyperlink and see where it goes. Sometimes you might have to look REAL hard to find a difference between a spoof and a real address.
