These were half off at dicks sporting goods for $99. Needed new snow boots so what the heck. Look pretty solid, just dad and I always had Rocky, Redwings, or Irish Setters.

I'm sorry that you bought thoes boots,I just threw away my pair that I had for 5 months due to the sole falling apart, the sole is like an outter skin and inside is like a foam that flaked apart than seperated from the sole. Got mine from cabela's for $79.95 in the bargan cave.

You just tossed them after the sole gave up? man you got more money than me. I go to a cobbler and have a new sole put on the bottom of it. the new soles usually last a couple years for me, and i keep going till he thinks the rest of the boot cant handle new soles anymore. I've been doing this for about 6 years now.

I have a pair I wear when wheeling. They are water proof (not supposed to be) and they handle the mud very well. I like em. They damn sure didn't cost $100 though, more like $40 or $50.

I like Wolverines; I've had several pairs over the years for different purposes (work & play). I did have an issue with the sole of one boot cracking across the bottom of the ball; the boots had 1/2 or less of the tread left, but they gave me new ones to replace them - no charge.
I go to a cobbler and have a new sole put on the bottom of it.Some boots can't be re-soled if they have soles that are molded to the upper; one of my currently owned pairs of Wolverines is of that style; oh, but they are sooo comfortable. :thumbup

I love my Wolverines. They are my extreme cold-weather boots. It didn't even get cold enough here last year to dust them off, but I'll tell you one thing: For a kid who's had frostbite, boots that keep your feet dry standing in a mud puddle when the ice breaks, or warm at -30 are worth every penny.

(even if you did get them half-off and they still cost $200)

edit: I'm wearing my Redwings tonight, see?

Thats the problem I got with a KICKASS pair of John Deere boots (made by Florsheim) I got about 8 years ago. I wore those damn things EVERYWHERE. Trompin around the mud and gravel when I worked at Boy Scout camp for 2 summers in 98 and 99, wore them to school, athletic games, church, job interviews...shine them up and they looked new.

The last place I wore them alot was as a waiter at Hops when I first moved to Daytona. The soles wore slap out and the local cobbler said he cant do anything to fix them. If he put a new sole on it would come off pretty quickly.

I contacted John Deere and Florsheim and they do not support their products anymore since Florsheim is out of the boot making business and is only into dress shoes.

SUNOVABITCH. I'm not gettin rid of them. I will eventually find someone who can fix them. I'll pay 100 bucks to have them fixed I like them so much.

I've got a pair of Wolverines that I've had for a few years. Mostly where them hunting, but I use them when I'm cutting firewood and other outdoor activities. I like them, they've held up well so far. Paid around $120 for them out of Cabelas, thinsulate/steeltoe.

I've got a pair of Rocky kneeboots that I really like. Perfect for hunting in the swamps down here in Florida.

I had a pair before. They made a year which wasn't bad. My Red Wings made it 3 years. I have a pair of Carolina boots now. I like them but the were a beotch to break in... I don't wear insulated boots here because all they do is make my feet sweat and get cold. I just put on another pair os socks and I am good to go.:toothless

I like my CAT Steel Toes. Worked as a Diesel Mechanic every day for 9 months in them and never once had foot pain. I just wish the rest of my body was protected by them....

Rob and Xdaily, where can you get those boots? What brand are they? Are they steel toe?

Now let me say this: The CAT Steel Toe boots are great for work boots, or camping, riding, etc. However I wouldnt wear them everyday. They arent as light as I would like. Plus I have always had the opinion that you should not "Live" in your work boots. Meaning; You have work boots for work, casual shoes for everyday, sneakers, crosstrainers, etc. for sports, and etc. etc.

I do have a pair of casual boots that I love. In fact they are the only pair of shoes I have ever taken to a boot repair place to thave them re-sewn when they started to wear out. I have owned them for about 9 years. One of the things I like about them, is that they are "low ankle" style, and they are really light.
Now the soles are pretty much balled and I am in need of some comfortable casual boots. The ones I am talking about arent made anymore. SO I have been looking at some Dr. Martens.
They make so many styles its hard to pick. I saw a pair that was low ankle, steel toe, double reinforced leather toe, padded ankle support, thick lugged soles, and really comfy but I didnt have the $110.00 the store wanted at the time. NOW, If I ever see them, I am buying them but of course I cant ever find them now.

What kinda crap is this

Nowhere in me is the presence of god
Nor do I need him or want him around
What you expect I could never conceive
Kill off your children to fulfill your dream
Give them your name and condemn them to die
Little they know of what you have in mind
Drink to the father and that of the son
I'm not that stupid, just look what they've done

Deicide?

I miss my CATs. They're probably still laying around somewhere at my parent's house, but I wore them when working with my neighbor cutting down trees. There's so much poison ivy on them, I don't think I'll ever touch them again.

Bought a pair of Chippewas, best boot I have ever owned..

Had a pair of Cat's that I wore for years, but the sole desintegrated on them, the leather is still good.
