The flowtech long tube headers I bought For my 86 351W rubbed on the bottom of my Transmission (C6) not just one pair... but 2! First they should sit somewhere between my tranny and frame and 2nd, they should not hang lower then the mounts for my radius arms.... After looking at pair number 2 I gave in and paid the extra for my Hooker Competitions.... they were a little extra but still cheaper then getting custom pieces to get the flowtechs to get up around my trans mount.... I would not let anyone I know buy a flowtech anymore ... who makes a product that doesnt fit .... doesnt make sense to me .

Thats what happens when you buy the cheapest header out there.

i found out the same thing too. Those flowtech headers won't fit on an 80-86 FSB with 351w and a c6. Parts america didn't want to take them back either, but i eventually talked them into it. Bought some hedman's and they fit GREAT. Lots of clearance

Thats not 100% accurate. I got a set of flowtech headers on my 83 351w c6 and they fit good (I did have to modify the passenger header about 1/2" for it to seal correctly though). Ive had them for close to 3 years with no problems.

They worked fine for my 89. It seems they have poor quality control so each set is a little different. Maybe I just got lucky. Just remember, you get what you pay for.

If you have to modify the headers to make them fit, then they did not "fit good"
My heddmans fit without any modifications

True, but for twice the price I would hope so.

SOB!! I wish I'd seen that! Every brand I saw beside Flowtech were over $200 so I risked it. If I had seen that there's no way I would have gotten Flowtechs, even though they did work they were hard to get in on the driver side. Ok, I'm switching my stance. DON'T BUT FLOWTECH.
