LuxurySportCoupe 10-24-2006, 02:42 PM Hey guys. I found this site while looking around for a bronco a few days ago.
I just picked up this 86 4x4 up for a whopping $275 dollars and drove it home, everything works including the back window. The truck came with new muffler, tailpipe, new shocks all the way around, new wheel bearings, new front pads and rotors, new rear brake shoes...i basically gave the guy money for the parts he just bought and took the truck with it.

I've already ripped off the running boards off before anyone says "hey rip those off" lol
Lift and 35's coming this weekend probably :drinkbud
Pantsman 10-24-2006, 03:07 PM man I wish I had the money to throw at my truck right after I got it. Nice truck by the way. REALLY nice price! Congrats and welcome to FSB.
chinkydude 10-24-2006, 03:21 PM holy crap, you got one heck of a deal! welcome man
jermil01 10-24-2006, 03:25 PM Nice score.. looks like it's in pretty good shape for a PA truck of that vintage.:thumbup
hawkfn 10-24-2006, 03:45 PM Welcome and great deal!
nice. welcome to the truck that's going to take ALL of your time and money.
Big_Sean 10-24-2006, 03:56 PM welcome
sewiv 10-24-2006, 04:03 PM good deal there.
LuxurySportCoupe 10-24-2006, 04:16 PM haha, thanks guys. it was a pretty good deal :toothless
its in good shape except for rust and some rot, as usual. i live in south jersey and bought it 2 hours away. Body is getting removed and i will address the rusty frame and seal it.
nice. welcome to the truck that's going to take ALL of your time and money.
LOL, nah i already have a vehicle for that. 1990 Lincoln Mark VII LSC, 5.0 H.O, converted to a tremec TKO600 five speed, subframe connectors, and a laundry list of goodies. I just bought a 1969 351w for the lincoln that will be getting stroked and twin turbo'd in a bit.
As for the bronco, i paid 275 its got a 300 I-6 w/ a c6 bolted to it..i have a 302 H.O. i might eventually throw in front of the c6 if i blow up the I6. I found brand new 3" body lift (30 bucks) and 36" wheels and tires ($100)..so i might just have to build myself a 86 bronco mud truck on 36's for $405 bucks. I will eventually replace all the panels that rotted (i work in a parts store and get parts at cost) 75 bucks for a new hood, 98 bucks for new fenders, etc :thumbup
I want to spend as little money as possible on this truck for the time being. (unfortunately, we all say that at first :histerica ) I would REALLY like a 78 Bronco..4door being my next choice.
:thumbup Welcome to the land of FSB.:beer

jackhart 10-25-2006, 11:57 AM at least somebody is benefiting from the depressed prices of broncos...although that price was absolutely insane. good luck with it. :thumbup
LuxurySportCoupe 10-25-2006, 12:19 PM thanks for the kind words guys! i really like the search feature here, TONS of AWESOME info. :thumbup
as for the price.. yeah i jumped right on it when guy sent me 10 pictures of it and the price along with the list of brand new parts. It was hard to stop myself from grinnin ear to ear while i was talkin to the guy when i went to pick it up:twotu:
last night , i picked up a brand NEW 3" body lift for $30 bucks.
Of course i would prefer a suspension lift but i would rather have a 78 model to throw my money at..for the time being I just want it off the ground a little bit so i can throw on some 35's or 36's...but i have a feeling the more i get into it, the more i'll like it...and it will probably see a SAS and suspension lift in its future, seeing how i cant leave anything alone. Always tryin to make it bigger, badder, better, and faster than stock..doesnt matter what it is.
Goin to look at a set of 35's tonight on rims for $100 bucks. :drinkbud:
JKossarides 10-25-2006, 01:20 PM Wow only $275.00, at that price you'll have plenty of money now to constantly FIX IT ~ lol lol
Welcome 86 Brother!

I agree about the 78 model... Those are badass
but nothing wrong with an 86. (not that I'm partial or anything) ;)
LuxurySportCoupe 10-25-2006, 05:58 PM heh, i hear ya. the 86 has already been growing on me and i've owned it 3 days.
i have a question concerning that...where is the cheapest place i can find bushwacker style fender flares and a grill for the 86. i am not a huge fan of the stock grill, i saw a black one (assumed painted) that i was fond of and a billet one that caught my eye..just tryin to spruce it up a lil.
i also wanna put some bumpers on it but i think a buddy of mine is gonna fab me up something sick once i purchase the materials

gearrat 11-12-2006, 12:58 AM welcome to FSB :beer
LuxurySportCoupe 12-11-2006, 01:21 PM So far, working as time permits..
I've changed oil/filter (ran motorflush), oil p/u screen, oil pan gasket, trans filter/screen/gasket (added lubeguard), transfercase fluid, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, cap/rotor/wires, muffler, tailpipe, new shocks, cut rear fenders, new battery, solenoid, all the battery cables, transmisison mount, grill..and a few other things (misc paint, lines, grease, etc)
Parts waiting for installation - front brakes/calipers, body lift? (not sure if i'm doing it yet), poly body bushings, poly rad arm bushings (process of grinding heads off now), and fix this little brake line..
Still gotta get some wheels/tires...i've got the tiny stock ones on it now, some bald 31's on aluminum bronco wheels and some 36 x 16 x 14.5 boggers i cant find wheels for.
Its gettin there!! I cannot wait to get it roadworthy and take it out in the woods.
I think spring time calls for a suspension lift and some 38's...i'm definitely keepin it. Down the road i might have to get a 460 for it. :thumbup
petlover07 06-01-2007, 11:43 PM well, I think we are even.. I got mine here in sunny California for 600.00 no rust, straight body, 90000 original miles. They thought it didn't run, but I figured out that it did before it went up for auction. Got it for a steal.
