I have a long standing issue against 4WPW, to the tune of a couple of grand, and I will never recommend them anywhere at any time and I wanted to let all ya'll know their customer service policies suck and the service I received from the store in Tacoma Washington was completely abysmal. You may not believe me but if you have really listen to when people gripe on this or other boards, you will see 80% of the time it was because of something that company(regardless of location) did to the individual whether it is small or big they are always screwing something up. They have not recieved my business since then(1999) and will NEVER do so in the future.

When I asked about lifts for Broncos at the Tacoma store, they quoted me a much higher price than advertised and wouldn't give me the time of day when I had questions. The store in Colorado sold me a Tough Truck Challenge video, when I got home my wife said they had called and my shipment was in. I didn't order anything! I told her to call them back and see if it had been paid for...whatever it was.

I thought I would point this out.... :) Including my original POST and ending with Leonards POST would be 5 POST's about 4WPW quality. In my original POST I said there would be 80% negative comments I have seen and this first run sorta proves it......... :) 5 comments, 4 are bad 1 is good. 100% devided by 5 equals 20%..........soooooo, 1 good POST equals 20% and yes you guessed it, 4 bad comments equal......80%.....tada!!!!!!!! I know I need to get a life but I thought this was too good to pass up.... :D

They have been okay for me. I just went down yesterday and put tires and wheels on the 74 and they treated me good. It sucks cause thats the only place close to me. I would go down to high country performance4x4 but they not open but for a couple hours on sat.

You would be shocked but your still buying from 4WPW, almost all vendors (JBG, ORU, Summit) most buy from 4WPW and sell it to you.
But i hate them too, But i normally make sure that my order ir going out right, and only order from friends that work there, and even still it gets messed up, but i blam that on their order software

I have ordered 3 times form them and all 3 were good. I typically go into the store with my part numbers in hand and just have them enter the order and pay. I usually know more about the products than the guys working there.
My wife went there and wanted to buy a Powertank for me for Christmas and all three guys working there had no clue what it was. They had to call their tech support to find out if they sold such a thing. One guy even said that he thought it would be illegal to carry a CO2 tank in your vehicle.

The only thing I bought from 4WPW (so far) was my Detroit locker. While the "professional" was typing my "order" into the computer I told him to make sure I got the one for the 8.8 WITH C-clips. His reaction was "Oh, that must be what the little A&B stand for." He had to start over because he had the wrong one. I am glad I knew what I was talking about.

On the other side though, the regional manager gave me a free copy of the Top Truck Challange while out here in the gulf. That and they are a heck of alot better than ORW!

If they have it in stock on there showroom floor or in the back of the store, then you can't beat the price. But make sure it is the right thing before you leave the store.

I hate 'em. They sent me the wrong damn shocks and I knew it. Then I called them back and they said that they didn't even carry the shock I was holding in my hand with their damned invoice. After being bounced to four people, they gave me the number for pro-comp and I had to call them to get the correct numbers for the idiots at 4wpw. How hard is it to look up a 6" lift shock for a 79 bronco??

I was so pumped about getting my truck back today with the 6inch lift and 35s. I called like every hour to see if i could pick it up. Then the guy finally called me and said they ordered the wrong bolt pattern on my new wheels. Well auctually he said the wrong ones were shipped....i dont know who messed up. but it pissed me off...now lets see if they can install it...

I have no complaints with them. I priced things with their competitiors and they beat it every time. I got my 38" TSL's for $180 each. There were 2 tires out-of-round and they replaced them for free. I ordered a set of OEM Dana 60 gears and they were at my door in 4 days for $196 with no shipping charge. The store in Portland has a decent stock of bushings and accessories, and I've always been treated well there. I've never had any work done on my rigs in a shop so I cannot speak for their shop skills.

Ive ordered almost all my mods off there page and they were always cheaper and in good shape so i thought they were great

It got bad when was at the store for the first time (last weekend at the Tacoma WASH store) i went in to ask a simple question and 5 guys stood there talking to each other for 5 minutes then turned and looked at me like i was the one doing something wrong.

Its not that big a deal but i always thought customer service should be the first thing on a stores mind.

I must say I am one of the 20%
that will always shop there. Most likely
the reason that I get good deals cause I know
all the Tech's and Salesmen and Managers in
Tacoma. Free 3 day delivery, Free junk, Hey try
these?
Well the only problem I have had is with the
ProCrap stuff.
I bought the shocks cause they were cheap
My bad.
When we did my lift the front left was blown.
I bought them in NOVEMBER. Fawlk DAT
and
I bought a PreRunner light bar and it has come to me
from UPS destroyed. Not exactly 4WP fault
on that.
If anyone says 4WP sucks I'd just ignore them and
take a step back and see how I get treated there.
Everyone is different.
Hey at least there cheap...

Oh,

One more thing,
The Goodyear MTR in a 37x12.50.15
is Backorder for 2 months everywhere.
4WP got them to me in 3 days when no one
else could for cheaper than anyone else
$204+tax
including No QA warranty

(knock on wood)

I have never had a problem with them.

However I live in Utah.

Off roading is almost as popular as religion here and our stroe is always well stocked on everything.
Most of the people at the front counter have huge rigs and do all their own work and know what they are talking about.

I feel that my store is above average because of teh location and teh climate they work in.

SO far so good.

It was the manager at the time(4 1/2 years ago) 2 of the 4 Swampers I purchased were WAY out-of round and one took 18 ounces if I remember correctly and one was good. ...................I called the manager and told him the truck was riding extremely rough. He said bring it in and we will look at it, because they just did my lift tires rims and few other things in one shot. So I arranged to get a ride back home after I dropped it off (It's my daily driver) and the next day after receiving no call back or anything I come back to get my truck and he tells me they are suppose to ride that way, "Because they are mudding tires" he says. I have had enough Swampers in my life to know that's not right, not to this level of roughness. I was pissed and I said so your not going to send them back, they are covered under "Interco" warranty and he tells me "No, but you can, if you want to", like I want to pay for the shipping. I am pretty pissed by then but I hold my temper and tell him I am going to get them checked out for second opinion and says "that's fine". I take them to Les Schwab and they tell me what I mentioned at the beginning of this POST. I drive back up to "4 Wheel Parts" the next day and showed them the written information I had got from Les Schwab and he tell's me "the weights necessary to balance a mud tire are supposed to be high" and I told him heatedly that they couldn't even balance 2 of the tires and you think this is normal? By this time I was pretty pissed off and getting loud....my mistake. It was my mistake for getting loud not because I shouldn't have, but because it gave the guy a reason to excercise his rights to refuse service to any one for any reason....which he did. I got louder as I walked out door letting him know what I thought. I ended up selling them for a loss and had to purchase more tires on credit from Les Schwab that I took awhile to pay off. I had spent almost 5K all at once between lift, tires, rims, and accessories for my F250 and to have him treat a customer like that speaks incredibly badly for that company. I had no more money to send the tires back and wait for the replacements for my daily driver, I had to drive it daily... :)
But if they are going to screw me on a major purchase I expect to get screwed even worse on the small ones...so I will never shop there again...period. If it works for other folks thats fine but as for me, I won't give them the opportunity to screw me again. Sorry for the long winded POST and I missed few things but all in all thats what happened and that why I have the opinion that I do. Thanks for reading it folks.

back when i had my bronco i ordered twice from them, both with very good luck. the first time was skyjacker hydro shocks, which came in in 3 days, and he said they shoulda been there in 2 and gave me two of them free. the second time was a custom order seat to replace my front seats. they said it would be there in 8 business days, it was there in 6, plus they gave me a better deal than any other place i went to in town. i had a friend that took his ranger in for a 4 inch lift, 33s, gears and arbs, and they took 3 days for the install, and even left it on the lift for him when he go tthere so he could go over it and make sure he was satisfied with the install. i have nothing but good things to say about the ft worth texas store, and plan on having them install my brothers 5 inch skyjacker stage II lift on his dodge, they seem to do a great job on installs, and are very active members of the wheelin clubs here and offer discounts to their members. nothing but good things to say, sorry to hear aobut you guys misfortunes with them

I have had a good experience, for the most part, with them in Fort Worth too. They get most of their stuff shipped to them fast. Took one day for my body lift to get there. However, they did charge me for the gap guards that i never got, at the time I was too stupid to care, and it wasn't really my money(parents money for first car). I have never had them install anything on my bronco, I really don't have much to complain about there.

One thing that confuses me, why they cannot have their website consistent with their catalogue. Last time I checked, their website did not have any genuine suspension lifts on it. Their current catalogue does. Their website has not had it for about 4 months. Just a little annoying.

I plan to go there for my 6" lift. But I will install it myself.

I ordered my suspension lift from them-best price. I figured picking it up from the shop instead of waiting on the mail. It took a week to come in. But when it came in there was only one rear leaf spring and no limit straps. A week later I got the other spring, and another two weeks for the straps. Again-great price, but it took a month to get all the parts!!!!!!!

I've never had a problem with 4wpw. Course I've never ordered from them. I've used National tire and wheel a few times. With no problems at all. But I perfer Jeffs Bronco Graveyard. Since they only sell ford truck stuff, and they know their stuff. For the most part.

I've had good luck with them so far over the years, but only ordered from them about 30 times... Never even seen one of their stores, though. I also always seem to move to parts of the country to where you either drive 2 hours (currently) to get something, or mail order it. I always mail order.

There is one basically directly across the street from my school.

I had my lift on my 94 f-150 from there put on b4 my SAS...

I have bought lights, a brush guard, and other stuff from them.... NO problems..

skyjacker brake line--> had it in stock....

All the salemen know me by name, and they are really cool...

Sometimes don't know about my truck or what I'm talkin about bc they have a Jeep or something, but u know, i couldnt tell em a damn thing about their truck or jeep so.....

O and also a month before my lift and all, i bought and had em install some nerf bars....

they had to take em off to clear the lift.... FULL refund, no questions, apoligized for their mistake....

I really like the store.....but of course no custom work, i have another shop for that....

that is my 2 cents....later!

I havent had any problems with them. I bought my ES9000's, steering stabilizer, poly urethane bushings ( the guy went out with a measuring tape and measured my sway bar to make sure i got the right part), and i got a pair of ProComp locking hubs sitting in my closet wanting to be installed. No problems, good customer service, low price, and all of my parts ( Except for the shocks, which were in stock) were delivered in 4 days or less.

I had those dumba$$es put a 6" Superlift kit on my '80 CJ7 at the 4WPW in Waipahu, Hawaii. Installation was free w/purchase, (which I'm not complaining about) But when I went to pick the thing up, it literally had no brakes. I was like, "Dude, where's the brakes?" They told me my master cyl was bad, and that how it was was the best they could do for me. Sorry.

I told them BS! The brakes worked fine when I rolled it in (And I know this because I had just installed new pads, various other parts and wheel cylinders the week before.) I told them to take off the master cylinder, bench bleed it, reinstall it and re-bleed the system again. It was only from the new extended lines going in empty, (that's a LOT of air,) and they were too lazy to do it right. Anyways, it turned out fine, but scares me that they'd otherwise let someone who didn't know any better to just drive down the road with it. SCARY!

At the 4WPW in Reno, I let the crackhead "electrical guy" work on my stereo at a time when I was just waaaay too busy to do it. He fried my amp, (his fault) I went to get it repaired and when I brought it back to him, he crossed the speaker leads and did it again (MY fault that time :banghead )

Anyways, YES. Good help is getting harder and harder to find these days. :shrug

Now, I ONLY buy parts from 4WPW. No more labor. They suck.

I went to their shop once to get a tow strap. They didnt have one. So the guy at the counter says well here let me just put in your adress blah blah blah they will ship it to you in a few days........3 weeks later I got my tow strap. I mean come on people a tow strap, those are pretty well needed throughout the 4 wheeling community. I didnt like that and the fact that this particular 4 wheel parts has messed up numerous lift installations.

Here is what I think...... from experience from buying products from their Burbank, Van Nuys & Redondo Beach CA locations.

1 - Their prices are great (lower than most competition).
2 - The guys behind the counter do not know their stuff.
3 - When they do screw up they make it right.

My conclusion is that if you do your homework before dealing with them you often get a good deal. If you don't do your homework prepare to waste time, money & patience.

PS. They have not touched my Bronco so I cannot speak about their service department.

Don't know how you couldn't recommend 4WPW .. I've ordered 3 sets of tires from them, shocks, brakelines, etc .. I've NEVER had a problem with them aside from them being mistaken about when my tires would be delivered .. I got them earlier than expected .. They always have great prices and good customer service ..

I've never purchased anything from 4wp... I did have them "check out" my Bronc before purchasing it since I had a 500 mile trip back home (things we do for rust-free toys). That was a kinda a joke, they didn't tell me anything I didn't figure out driving it to the shop except that the rear-end was junk. Tried to tell me that it wouldn't make it home. 5000 miles later I am still using it.

i know this is an old post....but they have screwed up 3 times this week already!!!
we bought a pro comp 6" stage 2 kit....the front drop bracket didn't come close to fitting right.
there was a 1/2 gap at the back where it bolts to the crossmember, they told me to shim it with washers...lol
i told them to go get f***'d
so we returned it and was dumb enough to let them order the 4" rancho kit..it fit great!! but........the shocks they sent were opened and installed..the bushing were all chewed up!!
i'm calling the main office tomorrow, then the better business bureau, and maybe a lawyer to sue for my time....the bronco has been on stands for a month now!!
stay away!!!! there prices may be good but thier service sucks!!!
