My wife called me to tell me she received a check in the mail for roughly $4G. All we had to was call this number 416-832-8593 for more info. So we call and get an African sounding man telling us to deposit the check and call back to authorize the tax payment from our account. Once I told him I was going to check with the FBI to make sure it wasn't a scam he hung up. So if you get bored call this # 416-832-8593 and ask for Mark Anthony.

I know better than that. I called the Philadelphia field office of the FBI and they said there is nothing they can do because there are too many scams like this to chase. So I called and had some fun with the guy.

I've gotten two in the last two months (a little different variation). They told me the same thing. If you want to be a good samaritan, call the bank that it drawn off of and send it to them. That way they will be alerted to the fact that their checks are being counterfeited.
