Been browsing the forum for awhile now, learned lots of valuable info, finally had a question a search couldnt answer, so I registered and asked away :D
Been a fan of big Bronc's for years, but couldnt bring myself to buy a Ford LOL. Decided I'd either be getting an older blazer (full size) or full size Bronco, ramcharger, something of the sort for winter commutes, while the 67 camaro rests in the garage. I'm notoriously hard on vehicles, but having sold all the "extra" cars I had laying around last month, and the camaro out of commision- I needed a daily driver-now, and needed it to last. Found a rusted out 89 Bronc, 351, auto, 4x4 xlt. Bodys pretty much shot, 1/4's are real bad. Front fenders are good, doors just starting to bubble. All stock as far as I can tell. It was apparent it had some previous damage (new off color tailgate, wheelhouses were migged in, not spot welded, interior has obviously been apart). 12x,xxx miles. Oh well, it'll get me around, or so I thought, if I didnt abuse it. Driving regularly, went to put it in reverse, trannys fried for no apparent reason. It did clunk when putting it in gear when I bought it, we diagnosed it as a bad u-joint, obviously...it was something more. So here I am, trying to find the faith to keep the clunker around, and give it one more shot. I love the truck to death, its my first full size SUV, and I'm hooked, and I havent even popped the top yet! Gets around amazingly well for a stock truck, only thing that limited it, was high-centering on the crossmember, and the rear bumper on big inclines. If I had the cash, I'd buy something a little newer, a little less rusty, and throw some 35's on it, I can only imagine.
Anyways, thats my story. Thanks for having me.
