Alright, Gettin out of work early tomorow, goin home and doin a Front brake job for a buddy at work. He has a 1998 Honda Accord.

Just curious, I've done countless brake jobs on all kinds of cars and trucks, but never an import. Does anyone know if there is anything particularly different about a Honda than other vehicles, when it comes to doing brakes, such as the way the caliper is mounted, etc? IE: Ford uses slide pins, Chevy uses the Torx-like bolts, Dodge uses regular bolts...

I'm not worried or anything... Just like to know what to expect when I tear into it, so as to be prepared.

BTW, Lucky me, The car is one year ahead of the CRAP design where Honda made it so you couldn't remove the rotor, without removing the hub and wheel bearing, thank god... What a stupid design that was.

This one should be easy.

Believe it or not, search on cockeyed.com for honda brakes. Don't do it the way he does, but it gives you a few good pictures. It looks really easy.

I have a 95 Accord and according to Chilton's the second step is to disconect the air bags (first is disconect the battery). Its simple, there is a small panel on the bottom of the steering column and the connector is there, the passenger connector is behind the glove box. Don't turn the car on to roll down the windows after disconnecting the air bags. It cost me $40 to get the sensor reset at Honda:brownbag I tried over the phone for 2 hours with import specialists and even Honda to get it reset without having to take it in and nothing except hooking it to their computer would reset it.:banghead

Other than that straightforward disk brake job.
