I've found a dead cow MILES away from any sort of area where cows should be. It seemed to have climbed an embankment that was like 15* off of vertical. How the hell it managed that I do not know...

I once saw some of those white power lightning bolts carved on a tree and an chebby hood with a swastica painted on it (hanging from said tree) in the woods. Also stumbled on a meth lab near a lake.

I need to quit running around in the bush :toothless

There are more, but I can't think right now......

Found a burnt up truck. It was also full of bullet holes. Someone probably collecting an insurance check.

We found Mexican Federales, way out in the middle of nowhere on the baja coast, they were in a little boat, armed to the teeth. And there was a naked guy hiding in the bushes on shore.

None of them were happy to see us.

I found a fridge in a hole once. There was a washer and a dryer not far from it too. All of which had an extensive collection of spraypaint and bullet holes... Yes, I tried to flex on the fridge; which was stupid, it ended up giving me a flat :brownbag

A log cabin.
It was in the middle of nowhere. Probably 15km from the nearest forestry road.
That, in and of itself wouldn't be too odd, but the whole place had a really creepy feel to it. The door handle was a deer leg that was nailed to the door. You grabbed ahold of the hoof and pulled the door open. There was amatching one on the inside to pull the door closed.
This wasn't a small cabin, it had a loft and a 15' bar. The bar was stocked with booze. We decided it would be in our best interests to get the hell out of there, what with the dead animal parts, spent cartriges, and blood, laying all over the place...

I'm sure it was just someone's hunting cabin, but it had a very unsettling feel to it.

I don't think pot would grow very well outside in Central Alberta. I don't think there's enough decent weather to get a good crop in around here. I could be wrong though.

Bear scat

She got out her side and stepped in it. She was still swearin' when my buddy got out her side and declared "that's bear scat".

We buggered on outta there as it was fresh (unlike her language:rofl: ).

We get plenty of weed growing up the valley from here. If you see plants, you just keep on going, as somebody's coming back for them, maybe the RCMP !

On the majove road I saw the phone booth once when i was a kid. Found a buttload of tarps out in Glamis once. Nice heavy ones. Still have a few of them left. Once found a newly burned up Chevy truck. Was a nice one... upside down early car (like a model t or a) down an embankment near where I live. That sucker looked like it had been there for a while. Once found another car stuffed halfway into a mountain no Idea what that guy was thinking. A buried car out in the valley of fire. I think that's about it.

Ditto.

Dad and I found a marijuana patch about 5 clicks from our property. Owner had rigged up a shotgun with a string about 6 inches off the ground to deal with intruders looking to "top" his plants. Very common means of crop protection around here.

I found a Fender from what looked like a 50's chevy... half buried in dirt, and rusted to hell, like it's been there since the 70's...

I love ridin through the woods, and going OFF the beaten path where no ones been in a while, usually on foot, you find all kinds of things.

It's awesome finding old cars, and old car parts, makes you wonder the history behind them, but it is so common...

Once found a complete chevy 350 motor, buried in the mud, a few miles deep into the woods... wanna tell me how the hell that got there?, and it was in deep woods, not a place someone could just drop there tailgate and roll it out..

The refrigerator I found was on my grandfather's farm, shit gets dumped there all the time. Some fool's dumbass kid in a lifted 78 bronco threw a couch out while we watched him. After we came from behind the trees and explained to him that he was about to receive a serious ass-beating with a cheater pipe, he hustled trying to haul that couch back up in there. :toothless

We got a call one night about a truck on fire a few miles up a mountain road. We get up there and a newer dodge dakota had slid off the side of the road, rolled once, and slammed right side up into a tree. The truck was completely engulfed in flames. It burned so hot the tree it was up against went up and the liquid aluminum from the rad made a small creek down the mountain.

Now for the weird part. We never found anyone from the truck. There were bloody foot prints going up the hill to the road than down the road toward town. Maybe 500 ft. later there was a bloody sandal. There's no way the guy walked back to town, we would have passed him. No one picked him up, we would have seen that as well.

We figure the guy was drunk, lost it around the corner, and either died in a ditch or just passed out and woke up wondering what the hell happened.

Kyle and I went exploring around Greenwood back in June. We were looking for this old abandoned town/mine called Phoenix. It was soo beautiful around there, even the old mine. It was creepy as hell though. The "lake" pond thing was really green and gold colored. The clay and banks around the lake thing were red and gold. Thats normal for mines around here. We got out and it was so quite. There weren't even birds making noises. (A couple kms down the hill we got before and loud brids) We walked around and took pictures really creepy. When they abandoned the mine they just took bull dozers and burried everything. You could tell there were cabins there by the 10' indents in the road. They burried it so deep that we could drive around on top of the old buildings. I didn't like that cause it looked like it was just a sinkhole. It felt like something was watching us the whole time. The only animals we saw were two deer booking it for dear life. (sorry for the pun) We didn't scare them cause they ran past us. At that point we got back into the truck and left.

We tried to find the old graveyard, but couldn't. We found some monument about WWI or WWII or something, not sure. He said that he had been to it before when he was little but I think the road grew over too much. I don't usually get creeped out very easily but that place freaked me out. Kyle thinks there was a cougar watching us, but whatever it was I don't want to go back.

One time we were wheeling in a place called Los Coyotes (now closed....RIP LCIR). Anyway, we're DEEP into the back country on a very rough road when we come across an Audi TT. The underside was beat to shit, and there was a single high heeled ladies shoe in the passenger seat. Very weird. There were lots of old cars buried in the mud back there, too.

And of course, I come across rattle snakes all the time in the desert. Very funny story:

One time I was with a large group at LCIR. Our trail boss wallked off into the bushes to take a leak. A couple minutes later he comes back to the group, white as a ghost. He's shaking hard. When we ask what's wrong, he tells us he was just standing there taking a leak when a 4' rattler comes right between his legs and slithers off into the bush. It came at him from behind. He never heard it. Heh. It scared the piss right out of him.

Same here. How ****ing hard is it to take shit to a landfill?

Guy I was talking to out this way was up in George Washington National Forest somewhere several years ago and found a fully stocked stone hut guarded by a 50cal machinegun nest up in a tree. Somebody's Y2K holdout. Good thing they weren't home. :shocked

Three Gentlemen, one of whom was wearing the remenats of a 70's baby blue tux complete with a bandolier. All armed to the teeth with old side-by-sides and antler handled knives. No more than 6 teeth between them. Stopped us to inquire about why were "tespasin" on thier pappys land.... Said we were lost and thought we were on state land(we were, confirmned with GPS). We were not in the mood to argue with them and shagged a$$ rather quickly. I swear I could hear Banjo's in the background-----Fog
