View Full Version : Rattlesnake trail in SL on Sun 11/5
thenag 11-02-2006, 05:27 PM I just got my truck back together and need to take it out to make sure it all works.
I am going to hit Rattlesnake trail on Sun 11/5. late morning, like 10am at the trail head.
If anyone wants to join me you are more than welcome.

I'd totally go with you except I have a few problems. My Bronco has a camper on it with no lift. So I'm stuck to less-difficult trails. Have fun though, post pics!

B-Rads B-Ronk 11-04-2006, 12:28 AM Where is the rattlesnake trail at?
az4x4bronc 11-04-2006, 12:46 AM Its off of 73 about 20 miles south west of Redwood Rd in Lehi.
dogonmut 11-04-2006, 07:17 PM Nat...
If you can wait by the trail head until about 10:30 I'll run it with you.
...just hang there and wait for me.
thenag 11-04-2006, 07:28 PM ok Scott I will be there and I won't leave until you show up. (at least I actually will be in Arz next week to egg your house...)
Brad If you want to join us you are welcome to. Rattlesnake can be done stock if you are not afraid of a little body damage. From what I remember from running with you last year you would be ok so long as you take your time.

godless 11-07-2006, 08:13 PM Nice pics. You make it out of the trail head without a flt tire this time Nate? LOL.
Believe me, that trail is fun at first, but it will get boring. Oh and since Brad has the good ol TTB, I dont imagine you took him anywhere near Consrictor?
Oh and that trail can be done stock, on some days, but not others. Chris (Rajncajn) is stock with LSD, and 33"s, and couldnt get past the first rock steps, and he can drive, I have seen him and videotaped his madness.
On my last note of the day, Nate: Utah laws or not, lose the fender flare whatever thingies you got there. I drove mine doorless, without a tailgate, or shell and never got pulled over or a ticket, and with my 2" BS wheels they stood out just as wide as yours.

Hey Jer, did Chris try Rattlesnake after he got the 33's? I remember him trying on those old stock 29's, that time when he flung mud in your face, but I can't remember if he tried since then.

I like to obey the law.
granted I have only talked to a few inspectors but they all say that my tires stick out far enough to require fender flares. and by the inspectors manual the front does clearly need flares, i could make an argument about the rear but the wide d60 sticks the fronts way out.
there are things that are barely legal on my truck (which I won't mention in a public forum) and I know that if an inspector wanted to they could fail me for pretty much anything.
and there is huge diffrence between passing inspection and not getting pulled over. Also I figure that the less things a cop can pull me over for the better.
honestly i kind of like the flares, they actually do keep sand and water/mud from hitting me in the face when I have my head out the window while wheeling. they don't obscure my vision they don't really hit anything on the trail and it is not like they make my truck uglier than it already is.

godless 11-10-2006, 07:10 PM Good point. Oh and I am really surpirsed that with the changes you made to your rig, that Utah passed it, but that is good news, so that is awesome.
godless 11-10-2006, 09:50 PM Burl-Garth, Yes he did. In fact Chris and I went just before he bought my Bronco if I recall right. It was just the two of us, but we met up with a few guys from the RME board.
rajncajn 11-30-2006, 11:28 AM i'll shed some light on this subject...i tried rattlesnake when i had 29's and couldn't make it past the first ledge. This past year jer went with me to rattlesnake (stock with 33's) but we turned around because people were taking so long, so really, I never have completed or even started rattlesnake!
Is Brad running a 4" lift with 33's? Is he locked? Last time we wheeled American Fork he was basically all stock. I remember him removing his sway bars in the parking lot.
B-Rads B-Ronk 12-01-2006, 01:52 AM Haha yea I remember that too. No since we went up to AF canyon I rebuilt the motor and put a 6 inch with 35's. This winter I am rebuilding a solid D44 and spring the SAS is goin in. I wanna run 37's next year, but we will see. Have you done anything to your truck yet? Oh and I have some bucket seats and my rear seat that I wanna sell, so if you or anyone you know needs them leet me know. :beer
godless 12-01-2006, 10:15 PM Yeah, he bought my Bronco and the turd sandwich cant figure out which one he wants to wheel!!!! LOL!
