View Full Version : Bronco Totaled??
R94BroncoXLT 11-07-2006, 11:25 PM So I was on RT 83 in Vernon(CT), waiting to turn left (I was stopped for over a minute because of traffic) in to the gym. When a kid (17 years old) rear ended the Bronco. I say he was going like 50 when he locked the brakes up and hit me.
I am fine. I have a little back pain.
I drove it home. I think they will total it. There is a good amount of frame damage. The drivers door has a gap of a 1/2 and the passenger has no gap and over laps the quarter panel.
Attached is a picture.

If you go to my Superford site there is 20 more pics including one of the explorer that hit me. They were taken to night in the rain.

More details and pis tomorrow. I am going to bed
RIP BRONCO

ToddACimer 11-07-2006, 11:38 PM Yeah, I'd say that one is junk. That sucks dude. I hope you're alright in the morning
jackhart 11-08-2006, 12:22 AM man that sucks so bad! i am really sorry that happened to you. RIP bronco...
take everyone's advice = get to a dr. or ER. rear end collisions sometimes take a few days to manifest the injury and pain you are going to feel.
thowell 11-08-2006, 12:32 AM that sucks dude
looked like a nice FSB too
BigBlue 94 11-08-2006, 12:40 AM that sucks... i love the color of it same as mine!!!
B-Rads B-Ronk 11-08-2006, 12:50 AM That sucks man, Im sorry to hear that another Bronco is going to be down, she was real pretty. Be glad that you were in a FSB it probably saved you.
big_ol_bronco78 11-08-2006, 01:23 AM did you call the cops? there isn't much you can do with out a police report, atleast it will be a lot harder. also, as above, go get checked out, took a few days for me and i woke up and my neck was really stiff
bnkrtstk 11-08-2006, 09:12 AM You'll be sore when you wake up. At least you're not seriously hurt.
Wanna sell the tires ,seats, console, dashpad, and door panels?
stangmata 11-08-2006, 09:48 AM I got your text message yesterday and my stomach dropped. You've put alot of work into that truck. That sucks bad.
blackbronco92 11-08-2006, 10:38 AM Well... She'd make a good trail rig, now...?
Man.. That really sucks seeing that. I couldn't imagine how I'd feel if that happened to my BKO, after you put so much time into something, you become attached.
Good to know your alright... Go get checked out... If you can afford to, keep the BKO, and just wheel the piss out of it on weekends..
Aaron

Kitty 11-08-2006, 12:15 PM never ever underestimate the injuries caused in a rear end collision
GET TO THE DOCTOR!!!!!!
sorry to hear about your accident. take all the proper precautions to look after yourself and then the truck
hawkfn 11-08-2006, 12:27 PM That really sucks! I hope that all goes well for you. Good luck!
tattoo_skullhead 11-08-2006, 12:42 PM that sucks bad.....gonna sell any parts?
scarface50 11-08-2006, 12:53 PM damn that sucks. At least you were in a Bronco that could take the hit. I would definately do get checked out right away. I had an accident before and didnt know I had a concussion til 8 hours later when I was dizzy and throwing up. Go to the ER.
Se7eN 11-08-2006, 12:58 PM Sorry about the Bronco...
I'm surprised your rear window stayed in one piece after that.
Crazed 11-08-2006, 01:06 PM My back injury took 3 days to show up, do yourself a favor and get to the doc.
Project Lazarus 11-08-2006, 01:52 PM I gotta go with everyone else here and say go to the doctor, always that small chance of an underlying injury. IF anything, it'll help get insurance matters settled quicker. Nothing wrong just making sure.
R94BroncoXLT 11-08-2006, 01:55 PM Hey all,
thanks for the replies
Just got back from the Doctor. They think I have a few strained muscles in my neck , back and legs. They want me to Ice for a few days and then heat for a few. She gave me some prescriptions for some stuff like IB pro fen and some muscles relaxers. She said depending on how it goes I may need to go for physical therapy.
I am compiling the receipts for the truck now and then I am going to call the claims guy.
I have a full police report. They ticketed the kid.
IF they total it i will be parting it out.
Thanks
Ryan
Froggmann 11-08-2006, 06:15 PM Yea, stick a french fork in her she's done. Shame too she did look quite nice. Too bad you are so far from me I'm interested in a couple of those parts. But shipping would kill me. Oh and looks like the Explorer is exploded too...
codysown 11-08-2006, 06:56 PM Is that a lift and 33s I spy? Not to be insensitive, and I hope you make it through OK. I f you decide to part it out let me know. If that is a 4" lift I would be interested. Relax kick your feet up and take a few aspirin.
Cody
R94BroncoXLT 11-08-2006, 09:08 PM 4 in lift and 35"
I will know Tuesday night whats going on.
Took some meds felling better
Ry
PHANT 11-09-2006, 12:55 AM That sucks bro
its never good to see a nice bronco get ruined
Welcome to my world, I went through all that about 7mos ago. I got 4,200 plus I got to keep the bronco, but mine was parked when hit. Since you where in it when it was hit, the INS comany will want to take care of it right away, DONT DO IT! Make sure you are ok before you take any money from them. PM me if you want, im taking Collision Estimating in one of my classes.
bluebronco1966 11-10-2006, 01:26 AM Man, that sucks. Same thing happened to me about 4 weeks ago, except a 18-wheeler ran a light and I t-boned him. Totalled my 84. Makes you mad when you think about all the time, work, and money you spent to get your rig where you want it, just to have it all go down the toilet in less than 2 seconds. Insurance companies were cool, I got more than I was wanting and got to keep the truck. Bought a 92 EB with 1 owner, 81,000 miles to replace it. It all worked out in the end, but I still miss my 84.
chevysuck 11-10-2006, 05:27 PM I would have went to jail after that. It doesn't matter what my truck looks like I would have killed some one if they did that to my baby. That sucks for you dude. At least you're not seriously hurt and maybe you can get some money for parting her out.
Mudd_Slinger92 11-10-2006, 09:47 PM That ****ing SUCKS. I know how you feel, I was rearended about 4 months ago, guy had a stolen car and he run away. But thankfully she was ok, and it was repaired. Glad your alive man. If you decide to part it let me know, Im interested in a few things myself.
Late Model Man 11-12-2006, 06:28 AM Thats terrible, glad you're ok though, just take some meds and relax. A totalled rig can be a perfect starting point for that rock buggy you've been thinking about... Don't lie- everybody wants one:thumbup
allcruisen 11-13-2006, 01:45 AM Man, Sorry for your lost and like everyone mentioned. Make SURE not to sign any papers the Insurance company would want you to sign. In a case like this they are gonna try and settle with you without going to court. Get a Lawyer if you have too.
Also, Keep all records of the mileage going back and forth to the Doc.
Hope you get better SOON....:rockon
Allcruisen :imp :usa
PS Dont be afraid to mention any "Legal" questions you might have. We do have a few Attorneys that belong to Our Site and I am pretty sure they will guide you in the right direction...
psygn0sis 11-13-2006, 05:38 AM I agree with everyone saying NOT to sign ANY papers the INS. company gives you.
Go out and get a shister lawyer.(you will know if you found one when he starts adding up all the things he can get you money for... I did and got double what the car was worth, paid for lost time at work, paid for everyday I was without a car, all my medical bills, time spent visiting a doctor, AND pain and suffering !!!:rockon
If anyone (god forbid) is EVER in a accadent, GET A LAWYER !!
92builtbronco 11-13-2006, 12:20 PM glad ur ok
quicksilver3602003 11-13-2006, 03:57 PM oh man that sucks...
R94BroncoXLT 11-17-2006, 08:17 AM So got the phone call last night.
they offered $2756.48 I told them that was unacceptable.
I don't even know how to describe how pissed off I am with this whole situation.
I didn't ask to be hit!!
So I think its time to talk to a lawyer.
Back was doing better till I got all hyped up over this now the lower back hurts again.
The whole situation just sucks.
Sorry for the rant.
fairlane_68 11-17-2006, 08:48 AM and then sue the dumbshit.
Like I said.

That sux but, be prepared to feel pain when these @$$holes call you....When I got hurt, just the thought of them calling me was enough to make my pain go threw the ROOF....
Take care of your back and FIGHT, FIGHT, & Keep on FIGHTING, 'till you get watt you deserve....
1- Medical bills paid
2- Any future treatments or medications you might need
3- A replacement Bronco of your choice {Not theirs}
Good Luck & Hope you get better soon....

tekguy4 11-18-2006, 09:00 PM Shitty story, truck can be replaced (well not for $2700 or whatever they offered) but your back cant so make them pay and get whatever trx you may need.
Anyways if you do part it out, how much for the rims and tires (all 5), I drive through vernon on rt83 on my way to manchester everyday for work and would be interested in parts.
R94BroncoXLT 12-05-2006, 11:17 PM Well they totaled it and gave me shit for it and a salvaged title to boot.
SO If any one needs any parts Drop me a PM or a email
rduval747@gmail.com

metal1313 12-05-2006, 11:44 PM is the passanger side door bent up at all if not im intrested in it
erodelius 12-06-2006, 12:24 AM the important thing is that youre okay but they are offering you PEANUTS! when i totaled my stock '86 i got something like $2,800 for it. i would piss and moan about how bad my back hurts, unless of corse you already took the money. either way, its cool. that just sucks though. i would hope for at least 4 large for that truck. hopefully you will clean up shop by parting it out
R94BroncoXLT 12-06-2006, 09:00 AM Hey all just to keep it simple and in the right forum please post replies and interests in my post in the Bronco and Ford Parts/Accessories forum.

DeathRisen80 06-05-2007, 05:23 PM ^ a bit late...
I hope you're okay bro, I want to buy it from ins co.
FordBroncoLover 06-05-2007, 06:49 PM Done for. You have to be a brand new car or a vintage car to not be totaled in that condition.
rocknbronco 06-05-2007, 07:30 PM Sorry hear your bad luck but I hope things turn out for the better and I'm glad to know your alright. Even though it hurts a Bronco is still just a piece of metal and a life can be replaced.
Jabya 07-30-2007, 07:33 AM mm mm mm..... gives us kids a bad rep..
