View Full Version : Moving to Eugene
ScottMoore 11-15-2006, 02:58 PM Hey guys,
My wife and I will be moving to Eugene, Oregon in two weeks. We are from san antonio, texas. She got a job at an architecture firm there. She plans to go the university there. I will be looking for a job when I get there also (hopefully in finance). Hope to get to wheel with some of you when we get there.
Joes93Bronco 11-15-2006, 04:02 PM Eugene is the twilight zone. While driving thru there my ex-wife suddenly turned nice to me while on the cell phone. I had to give the phone to my wife to talk to her cause I couldnt take it. Also had hwy 5 disappear completely during a rain storm (seperate trip). Thought we were straight up gonna die. Then WHAM we were out of it and it was sunny and nice. :shocked
Weirdest stuff I've even seen cept fer the time I saw Bigfoot. But that wasnt in Eugene.
Good luck and maybe we'll run into each other (hopefully not on hwy 5 :thumbup)

Weber 11-15-2006, 05:31 PM Weather is pretty crappy right now due to the storms moving through...
Let me know when you get up here if you need a hand movin some stuff in...
84excursion 11-15-2006, 07:13 PM Welcome to the great Northwest, best place to live. Except Eugene that place kind of smells. A lot of those hippy types.
However Oregon Kicks the crap out of Texas, Pine trees, mountains and snow.thumbup
Stick to I-5 on the way up, Roads are much better that our HWY 97.
ScottMoore 11-15-2006, 11:31 PM We are excited about moving there. We have heard a lot of good things about it.
I may take you up on it weber.:thumbup

bighoss22r 11-17-2006, 09:48 PM I live in salem and work really close to Eugene. There is alot of "different" kind of people there but you should like it.
ScottMoore 11-27-2006, 12:37 PM Well, I am here. Got in last night. It was a long three day drive, 2231 miles. Now I have to find a place to live. That is what I am doing all today.
kemicalburns 11-27-2006, 02:39 PM if you dont mind a 20min drive into eugene, Junction city is not bad. cheap as well. are you gonna rent or purchase?
Weber 11-27-2006, 06:40 PM Didn't decide on the places you were looking at or did you decided to look when you got here? Feel free to ask me about anyplace I've been stuck here forever... Outlying areas are the best IMO if you don't mind a little commute...
ScottMoore 11-27-2006, 09:59 PM for now we are going to rent. we wanted to find something before we got here but the real estate places didn't help out much. we pretty much had to some here to see things for ourself. we have to stay in a motel until we find something.
