View Full Version : reciever tow hook or warn shackle reciever?
i want to buy/order next week. i gotta have it soon. i can buy a tow hook that slides into a reciever locally, for about 30 bucks. or should i order a warn shackle reciever? where can i order one from? everywhere i looked dont have it. i think it would be better to have a shackle.
or should i just mount tow hooks to the frame and cut the bumper so they stick out, like i did the front? im not sure if the frame sticks out far enough to get the hook out of the bumper, i havent looked.
redwagon 11-16-2006, 12:47 AM get the shackle receiver...thats what I use...and got it from 4wheelparts.
thanks. just found it at 4wp. i think it will be better than a hook because it isnt stationary, cuase i have enough problems hanging the rear on rocks, and it will move, instead of the hook being stationary and getting hung up.

Ive seen the Hooks straighten out just ask Gearhead and Flamudslinger. Tractor supply keeps the Warn Shackle reciever in stock. (or the one by me does anyway) I believe it is around $30. I would go with the shackle reciever if it was my choice.

Look for a Northern Tool or Tractor Supply. We have them here in Charlotte so I am sure you can find one somewhere in SC.

Thats why I never leave my shackles on my bumpers. I love the way it looks with them on there but I would rather not have to buy new shackles every week. Thousands of young kids driving their jeeps around Charlotte and Boone, I know they're bound to get stolen by one of those kids.
