I lived in Orlando and had a killer job making bank back wjem I was 20-21 yrs.
I've only driven through Pheonix, but I did live in Nevada.
Between the 2... I'd go with the desert.

Orlando is very populated and kinda grungy in my exp. But... that was 15 yrs ago :shrug
Depends on what kind of terrain you like and what sort of activities your into.

Congrats on teh school gig. Hope it works out better for you than some of the others I've known who've gone there.

That X2, If you thought it was bad 15 years ago, you outa see it now....

My son {The oldest} is going top College up there. I swear its getting just as bad as S FL to drive. Anywhere you go takes you atleast a half hour or so.

The Plus side is you would be close to Ocala and be on the "Dixie Chapter" :rockon :beer

Another thing is watt 90Beater & InkDawg mentioned:

pheonix = Very Hot and dry

orlando = Very Hot and Wet and hurricanes

Congrats on the "almost" FULL RIDE to motorcycle mechanics institute....

If you decide Orlando, you best look me up.... :histerica :toothless

Pepe`, When are you gonna get back here? NEVERMIND Pepe` <- :twak <- AC....:rockon :drinkbud

Phoenix, Florida home owners insurance is rediculous. Mine increased $4000 this year. It went from $1400 to $5400. My brother in law lives in Phoenix. We go there every year and love it. I will stay in Florida though. I like the ocean too much.;)

The only advantage to Orlanda in my boock is that you are only 1.5hrs away from either the gulf coast or the Atlantic coast.

So if you like the beach it's great.

PHX short trips to mexico, 7 hrs to southern california beaches, short trips up to high alpine mountains! Sea level to 10,000' in a day easily and all the different types of country in between. I miss that part of AZ but it ain't as cool as Colorado!

You do have the lakes in AZ boat season here starts in march and here your usually within a couple of hours of everything.

orlando is a very large place, and right smack in orlando is pretty grungy. the upside of it being a large place is that it has alot of smaller feeder towns around it that are kinda nice. the biggest upside of being in florida is you get to break your shit with the dixie chapter, and you'll keep coming back to break it again and again. phx and orlando have very different types of wheeling, but being a native floridian i have to go with orlando

I have traveled to both several times with my job. I was offered a couple of jobs in Miami/Orlando. Didn't like the area well enough to move. But I love Phoenix, the sky is clear and blue with great weather. I would move there in a heartbeat. I have never wheeled there, but would love to. Plus you can beat old rust free Fords.:thumbup There is no way I would take my 79 to Florida. Just couldn't do that to her.

Phx is way way overcrowded for what it is now. Its also a shit hole down town until you get on the outskirts of town. housing is stupid expensive now. We are turning in to california will all the kommies out here now. There is also mexicans everywhere, i think there would be less in mexico actually. so much so they are turning most of the signs and store fronts into spanish.

yeah yeah move anywhere but here :goodfinge

the thing that got to me in phoenix was that everything is brown all the time, no green, it kinda depressed me...i know it's the desert and everything, but i just never got used to that...although to be honest i never lived there, just had an investment property there and would visit from time to time..

i like florida alot - being near the ocean is just great. i can't speak to orlando, but i have family down there.

from a wheeling standpoint, i think phoenix would win hands down, no comparison.

good luck with your decision, i don't think you can go wrong with either place.
