Friday my boss takes the whole office to lunch at Chilli's and on the way back I end up behind him at a stoplight in the Bronco. A co-worker and good friend of mine pulled up beside me... he has a lowered S-10 with a 4 banger in it and we just started goofing off like we were gonna line them up or something. The whole rest of the office was behind us in a couple of other cars. My rig is still running the stock 3.55 gears with 38" tires and a straight 6... so I knew he was gonna get me off the line for sure, so I dropped the TC into 4-low (no hubs locked or anything) just to see what I could get out of her. As soon as the light turned green and the boss was clear I hammered it... and I barely moved. Those big 38's had broke loose, :rockon they sounded like I had run over someone's poor old hound dog or something. Anyway, so he jumped me by half a truck or so because I was spinning so I grabbed second and dumped the clutch and they broke lose again. I couldn't believe it, he had me by a full truck length by then so I let out of it... but everyone was pretty impressed with the smoke off of the 38's and the second gear scratch my old Bronco got. I'm just glad the U-Joints held, that would have been embarrassing.

That's cool. I've got a 95 F150 (I parked the badonkabronc) and it will chirp 3rd gear, I think it's because it's a LWB truck and a manual.

my dad had a 85 f350 4 door long bed, with the 4.9 I-6 that would get leave secound gear strips but no third. that was one big dam truck.
o yea, first was a granny gear too.

This has the 5 speed, with a towing package and 3.55 gears. It's an aweome truck, I've been seriously considering selling the bronco since I've been driving this. I know it would outrun my 351 bronco, and still get 20MPG on the highway...plus it can pull just as much as the bronco too...I just don't think the plus of having 4wd and an auto is enough for me to keep it. But yeah, anyways, the straight six isa great motor.

Thats pretty good for an ol inline6:thumbup Glad the u-joints held up, I've done similar stuff before, and was made to look like a complete fool at stoplights, while I jumped out to pick up my driveshaft:banghead
