jermil01 12-06-2006, 12:56 PM Saw this on the news last night, and I hope for his family sake that it turns out for the better. Unfortunately, wearing only sneakers, a heavy coat, jeans and no hat for that period of time, coupled with being wet is a bad thing. I can't help but think this is not going to turn out in a good way.
Davids78Bronco 12-06-2006, 06:50 PM Well, he was found, just a few hours ago, but -

p54519 12-07-2006, 05:29 PM My passion (even more than my bronco) is mountain climbing. It is amazing how woefully unprepared people can be. I think they've been living with a quickie mart on every corner for too long. It's real out there, dammit.:banghead
sewiv 12-07-2006, 05:54 PM The worst part was, he made a wrong turn down a logging road, went 15 miles, got stuck, and that killed him (along with being massively unprepared, as in not even having a hat). Simple mistakes, compounded.
I'm betting the gate on that logging road gets locked up now, and some new signs put up.
Auminer 12-11-2006, 03:54 AM I'm betting the gate on that logging road gets locked up now, and some new signs put up.Could be, but I doubt it, it isn't the first time it happened in the last few years. Ya can't teach those flatlanders everything they need to survive out there. Not meaning to sound tough on them, but facts are facts. Just moved from Jefferson State...;)

wussies stay out of Oregon (northern california too,) or you will die.
kemicalburns 12-12-2006, 11:39 AM ive been on that road, its no place for anyone this time of year. even in the spring/summer its a dangerous 1 lane road and is very very steep terrain. my grandfather owned a wrecker service there in Grants pass and we have dragged out manny rigs either stuck in the snow or clean over the side a good 100' or more.
