I have dealt with them twice now, and both times were screwed. The first time, they sent me the wrong part, which I didnt realize till I installed it. As a result of installing it, and feeling it was my fault, I ate the 15 bucks.

This time, I purchased a ZF clear PTO cover. When it arrived, I found the two fill/drain plug holes to be fubar. one had threads sowing through because the plug was too close to the side of the glass, and the other was cracked. I called Chuck of BC Broncos and told him what I found, and he said I over tightened the plugs, and thats what happens. I re-told him I found his part this way, so he said to ship them back, and he would return my money. I said i wanted the part, so he siad IF they had another one they would send it to me, or I would get my money back. i then asked him what he wanted me to do about shiping charges, and he asked what I meant. I explained to him that i didnt feel i should have to pay for shipping since his product was damaged upon delivery. he got pissy and said "fine, we will reimburse you for that too." i said ok, and thta was it.

As i thought more about it, He really started pissing me off. First to accuse me of breaking it, and second to assume that i should have to pay for shipping charges for their screw up. I sent him a letter, saying i just want my money back, and that i wont be dealing with them again. We will see if i get my money back, plus all shipping charges. Maybe Im expecting too much, but as a vendor, i wouldnt start by blaming the customer, would you?

A few pics to show what Im talking about.

that sucks plug, but i'm willing to bet plenty of their items have been damaged by the customer and then returned to them afterwards for credit/money back/exchange. after it happens alot, you tend to get bitter towards the buying public. not excusing it, because you are one of the honest ones, but there are alot of s-bags out there who wouldn't think twice about trying to return something they themselves damaged.

as a vendor, i think you just have to say that the customer is always right, and give them a friendly return policy and the benefit of the doubt, otherwise good honest people like you won't buy from them anymore... because we all know bad news travels fast.

reminds me of the time i dropped a brand new suit off at the dry cleaners for alterations. the suit still had the tags on it. when i came in to pick it up a week later, someone from the cleaners had torn the sewn-on tag off the arm and pulled the fabric, a little tear. when i pointed this out, they claimed that i must have done it, that no one in their outfit would ever do something like that. i couldn't believe it. they eventually paid for the repair, but because of their attitude, i never went back to them.

Damon...
I'm sorry you got that sorta treatment from them. Not the sorta thing I'd have dreamed would come from BCB. I've dealt with them for quite a few years now and NEVER had any of the issues you describe. In my experiences, I'd say they went beyond what I ever expected any company to do for me.

if curious and you want details...PM me.

No offense to anyone here, but the design of that part alone would have kept me away. I can make hokey stuff out of lexan too.

The fact that the vendor seemingly didn't bother to check that the part was correctly machined isn't a surprise; I doubt they manufacture it or even open the box before they ship it.

As for their assumption it was the customer's fault... sadly, this is typically the first response of any vendor that's been in the 'modified' business for any length of time... and it's a direct result of folks who don't read directions and screw up the install, then want someone else to take responsibility. Only wat we as enthusiasts can help that one is to be as fair with the vendors as we'd like them to be with us... and the original poster sounds like he did his part.

Boo, BCB.

unfortunately, the only pic he has of this part is for the 20, which doesnt have drain/fill plugs. I would prefer it that way, but neglected to ask if it had plugs in it, nor did his description detail that part either. id ike to have one of these for easy inspection of the man trans, but OH WELL.
