There is a person on eBay that sells these all the time. I bought one, figured "eh, what the hell, it's only $20 or so". Well, I have to say, it's a good product. It latches into the tailgate latch on the right side of the truck, and this little arm holds against the spare tire carrier. It's not going to keep the tire carrier immobile, but it will hold it open with the tailgate down. My only complaint is that the bar that snaps into the tailgate latch rusts easy as hell, they should have used better paint on it.

Here's a link, but once it stops working, just search eBay for:

Tailgating Tailgater Bronco (or something like that) and you'll find it.

To the tailgate: It actually latches into one of the tailgate latches, and you have to pull the handle to release it, just like you would be opening the tailgate. It has a loop that goes over the tire carrier, and you simply place the looped rod through a hole in the piece that goes into your tailgate, and slide a rubber piece over the end (improved design might be a cotter pin?) I like it, I just though I'd share it for those of you who never saw.

I've got to admit, I've often wished I had something like that. I can't believe I've never seen that considering how many times I've searched for "Bronco" on eBay. Good find.
