Just wanted to pass along some info. I bought an alternator from DB Electrical back in Feb. It's a 3G 200 Amp unit. Worked great, until about a month ago. My lights and voltmeter started flickering almost like somebody that has a huge stereo in their car and it makes the lights flash. So I wrote them an email asking them if they would send me out a new voltage regulator and I would send them back their old one. this is the response I got.....
Keith,

We can ship you another alternator to replace the defective unit along with a FedEx return label to send the other alternator back at no charge. Just let me know if this is OK.

I will need the name and address we shipped to and the invoice number if possible.

Sorry about the trouble, Mike

Again all I asked for was a new regulator so I could just replace it and not be down a vehicle. Instead they're willing to stand behind their product and ship out another complete alternator before receiving the defect back. That's some damn good customer service. I highly recommend these guys. They also do mini high torque starters.

Original cost was $181 I'm using 1/0 wire from the alt to the battery.

Got home today and found another Email from DB. It was a cash sales invoice showing that a new alternator had been shipped to me for a total of $0.00 with a return shipping label. These guys have been great to deal with. There's been no haggling just my first email that was answered the very next day with the response I posted above. And now this Email today. Nice to know some people still believe in customer service.

The new alternator showed up Thursday night via UPS. Rained all day Friday so today I went out to do the swapout. And of course my luck held up, the alternator is clocked wrong :banghead :doh0715: . So since noone's answered my "how to reclock" thread and DB is closed for the weekend/holiday, I simply took the new regulator off and put it on the old alternator and the problem is fixed :thumbup New alternator is back in the box with the old regulator on it and the supplied return shipping label is on the box waiting to get dropped off at the UPS store. Not how I expected it to turn out but typical for me. Still thanks to them acting quickly and standing behind their product I'm back on the road with a rock solid volt meter reading and no more disco dancing headlights. :beer

They are local to me. I've used them a few times. Service was only ok, but the product always worked good.
