View Full Version : 01/25/07: New Signature Rules, Please read
Davids78Bronco 12-20-2006, 01:42 PM So, we've decided to take an active approach, and either ask the members to trim down their signature line spaces, or allow us too. Some of you guys have far too much .gif, information, and quotes, in your spaces. This causes problems with those on dialup, and needlessly takes up unnecessary space. Not that it takes up bandwidth, but alot of you have space that takes up half a screen page. That's too much
SO, please limit yourselves to one banner, and one quote, or no banner and a few quotes. You don't need a mini-movie playing, we don't need to know everything you've done, and everything you're planning to do to your Broncos.
Just use a little common sense, and keep the siglines reasonable.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation, in trimming your space - or we can do that for you, if you'd rather
Tommy R 12-20-2006, 03:01 PM Thank you! I've always been a fan of very moderately sized signatures. Larger ones just get distracting. So thanks!
Tommy
redwagon 12-20-2006, 03:03 PM thats cool...I just reduced down mine.
sewiv 12-20-2006, 03:08 PM Nope, I'm not shrinking mine. I like it just the way it is.

TxTaurus74 12-20-2006, 03:58 PM I'm glad something was finally done about this...sigs like Bnkrtstk's are fine but others are fawkin retarded...I don't have a bandwidth issue I just hate looking at some of them but I don't want to disable it because I like others....and a bunch of quotes means your gay...
BigBlue 94 12-20-2006, 03:58 PM leave it there forever

Thanks, Tim :thumbup Yours, and mine, are about as big as I want to see these, as I've also trimmed mine down a bit

Break the stick out if anybody gets pissy.:twak
psst ... yours is a bit much, too. But, if you can put your picture, in the same line as your name/location, that'd be acceptable
So don't make me get out my make-it-cool stick
"Is it cool!?" :twak
"I said, is it cool!?" :twak
"that's what I thought" :goodfinge
ToddACimer 12-20-2006, 04:22 PM sounds like a good idea

djlarryp 12-20-2006, 05:18 PM i'm going to miss "mo naked hoes"
derrick36 12-20-2006, 05:31 PM I'll edit mine, but this is pretty gay.
Wouldnt it be easier for those with 56k to go to there "user cp", then "edit options" and then uncheck the box that says "show signatures"?
Seems like that's what that function is there for.
JD_Bronco 12-20-2006, 05:48 PM is mine ok,

This is why we're asking for everyone's cooperation:

2ndHelping 12-20-2006, 06:53 PM Good idea. Done. :thumbup
Tommy R 12-20-2006, 07:56 PM Yeah, I've got NO bandwidth issues. I just hate wading through huge signatures that simply detract from the topic and are distracting and/or annoying. I keep my sig short and sweet for a reason. Not to mention some folks may peruse the forums from work. I'm sure they'd appreciate not attracting any more attention than necessary. And before you ask, my work blocks it.
Tommy
Kitty 12-20-2006, 08:18 PM shortened mine up too
bnkrtstk 12-20-2006, 08:36 PM Maybe I can enable them again. I have had them disabled for over a year.
dsotmoon 12-20-2006, 09:01 PM thanks everyone for the feedback and the changes, derrick, sorry you feel its GAY but they are getting out of hand and will get worse without some action, alot of forums dont even allow them these days or have very strict rules in place, we're just looking at placing some guidelines
thanks again

If guidlelines are being set...What are they? I would like to know what room I have to work with, for future reference.
What is "too big", too much animation, etc?
Just curious.

No hard fast rules as of now.
Basicly minimul animation and an average size sig line. :thumbup

this is gay? care to explain? Sorry you dont like it but it looks like the majority hate having to look at excessive sig lines, its not just some people. The worst has to be someone that lists they need to put gas in there bronco before they can drive it next week. I mean do we really need to know that?
why should someone have to turn off sigs because they dont want to see the long ones? maybe they like the others and dont want to miss them all

Do people piss on your cherrios every day? Or are you just a regular ball of sunshine? :popc1:
I think that if they are going to be limited, then hard rules need to be set. Basically, how many "lines" can be taken up. Otherwise, it is arbitrary per whoever happens to look at it. Which, some mods have people pissing in their cherrios, and others actually use milk.
I also would personally require an individual to turn them off if they are on 56k. Most things tend to deposit themselves in the internet explorer (or firefox) local cache - only getting downloaded once then checked from then on. But, I know THAT one isn't going to happen. Anyways, you only see the signature once per page, after that it goes bye bye. What's wrong with that?
Yes, a few are getting out of hand. But if its going to be brought up that the whole board is going to be cracked down on, then a rule should be set in place. Then, if anybody wants to make theirs bigger - just delete the signature and leave a pm letting them know.
:popc1:

kf4amu 12-21-2006, 12:46 AM Being one of those with too large of a sig, I kinda felt that I may have been knocking on the door of absurdity with my large sig prior to being asked to make it smaller, and my hunch was right. It will be even smaller after FOTM.
Is it impossible to put a character limit on the sig box when you edit it?
I agree with the limit, cause alot of peoples sigs with the animation would slow my computer down where the text I type doesnt show up immediately...or I cant scroll past it without the screen hanging up and loading the animation.
This also happens when I type a reply, and all the smilies next to the reply box are moving and waving flags. Its a pain in the butt.
Gacknar 12-21-2006, 01:06 AM If you dont want to turn off the sigs, isnt there still the ignore function? What if I still want to read that persons posts?
I think that if they are going to be limited, then hard rules need to be set. Why?
Do we really need to turn into FTE?
Folks, there are users here who have sig lines so long that with my brouser window at 75% of my screen (1280x800) there sig takes up the entire window.
Here is an example from a screen shot of my puter.
3794
Thats a single line post and it's sig line.
Thats silly
Sorry mthwvn73, neded an example and you where the first I found. Nothin personnel
FSB has always been, and hopefully will continue to be primarily self governing.
But as of late several sig lines have gotten a little ridiculous. So we are Asking that everyone be aware of the length, size, and amount of animation in there sig lines.
And Govern there own sig lines, so that a hard fast rule need not be set.

you think thats having some piss in my cherrios?? haha you should see me when Im pissed off. Im perfectly calm and my post was directed to derrick and his comment of thinking this is gay. Seems he always has a negative comment for almost everything we try to help out fsb with.
Does everyone have to talk to you in a soft voice? Dont get offended cause I didn't sweeten up my post with sunshine......
IIRC we had a rule on sig line length a while back.......

Again.... It has nothing to do with bandwidth. Large sigs are annoying. Gacknar's example is perfect and nothing against Derrick, but his sig has always been the most annoying to me and extremely distracting....and his isn't even as large as some, it just had seizure-causing animation.
Do we really need to turn this into a police state where every aspect of a sig needs to be mandated and/or restricted? I would hope not. I think the route the admins are going now is the right one. Just use common sense! For Pete's sake, why do people feel they need to have SO MUCH useless crap in their sigs anyway? Maybe a pic of their truck and a line of text. What more do you really need in there to personalize your posts?
It sucks when half of a thread or more are useless signatures and not the thread's content.
My two cents,
Tommy
Broncogirl89 12-21-2006, 09:49 AM Shortened mine too.

derrick36 12-21-2006, 10:59 AM Well, I'll play by the rules.
I didnt realize, or care very much that my sig may have annoyed some people. I put it there b/c I liked it.
It's easier just to go with the crowd on this one...I'll just wait for the next subject to come up, so I can complain about it.:toothless
My apologies.
blackbronco92 12-21-2006, 11:55 AM I have shortened my Signature.
That will be $5, please.
I limited mine to vB text a while back.
I'm limited to dial-up. Before we moved, I got 49-52 Kbps on my 56K USRobotics. After we moved to the other side of the highway, I can only get 26-28Kbps because of line conditioning...:banghead
When I click on a thread, I immediately <ctl><end>. When I see the POST REPLY, I click STOP LOADING. Some of the sig images are cute and clever. Some aren't. In any event, I don't really see much need for them...:goodfinge
Oh, and AVIs in sigs just kill my load time...:madder......you know who you are...:twak
SSgtTEX 12-21-2006, 03:52 PM I have always disliked excessively long sigs...and I too hated looking at derricks posts. Sorry derrick, I dont know what you have said in a long time for the most part.
But why should everyone turn off sigs for a few people that think they need to have 30 lines of text two 400x600 pictures ("cause they dont know how to resize it") and animation. Seems to me that it is easier and make more sense to ask the general population of the board, "hey tone down the sigs please" then the other way around.
Ok someone wants to give all the specs of their rig. Well some people think the only way to do that is put each thing on one line. Then there are the ones that have twice as much done but get it done on 2-3 lines.
If im looking at FSB and your sig takes up my screen (1280x1024), then its too big. And there are ones out there. see my example below. click thumb for fullsize

http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/467358/fullsize/sig-probs.jpg
But i guess I look at it this way. the admins and mods see something that is becoming a problem, they asked for help to stop it, so do it and STFU or go find somewhere else to be.
plug ugly 12-21-2006, 04:15 PM I vote for no animation or pics at all in sigs , and a max of 3 quotes
codysown 12-21-2006, 04:31 PM Thank you mods. A sig is fine. A broadcast billboard is for myspace. I also was very annoyed with derricks sig. I dont care if he liked it. If he liked it then he can put it on his PC and look at it all day long, I just don't think that the majority on here liked it. I am here for the threads and not personal advertisements about the life that you have, had, or are wishing to have in the future.
Again thank you with no sugar added.
Cody
derrick36 12-21-2006, 04:42 PM :popc1:
I really didnt think it was this bad.
djlarryp 12-21-2006, 05:39 PM simplified mine... didn't think about the animation slowing load times down.
blackbronco92 12-21-2006, 05:54 PM I don't agree with having no pics at all in sigs...
I think making them shorter is fine, but no pics at all would be BS.
Kitty 12-21-2006, 06:09 PM ya no pics isn't right
i know there are lots of people displaying fotm banners very proudly and they are within reason

bigbroncojeff 12-21-2006, 07:31 PM every once in a while there just needs to be a thread brought up about this... then we can do a little house cleaning... it's gotten out of hand before and it'll happen again... no big deal.... http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57601&highlight=sigs
kf4amu 12-21-2006, 08:22 PM Actually Monkey house (in your link) was the person I was thinking of in my last reply. This Techno Kitty KILLS my work computer and it takes 2-3 seconds to refresh the video when I try to scroll or type a reply or do anything with that dumb signature.
When the last topic came up, I had a very small Sig so I didnt pay attention, probably didnt even click on that topic. Now that I have a big one, I'm payin attention, realized it's too big, toned it down, and after FOTM will down it down even more.
I dont feel pissed off in the least.
derrick36 12-21-2006, 08:39 PM So, are we saying no animation?
Gack said minimal, but others have complained about how long it takes to load.
Broncocrazzy 12-21-2006, 08:50 PM I think I made some space by removing the quote box.:thumbup
Se7eN 12-21-2006, 09:59 PM Thank you!!!
If mine needs to be a little smaller, I have no problem doing so..
if someone has 56k, tell me how long it takes for my sig to load???
bandwith isnt a problem for me, long sigs are just annoying. im editing mine too
MikE2 12-22-2006, 01:08 AM Since I now know you all don't like long and annoying signatures, I'm gonna make the longest most annyoing compulsive animated signature you have ever seen. Its gonna be worse then Derrick's seizure sig, and have more quotes than you could even imagine. Probably gonna take up 2 or 3 full screens. A bunch of gay flashy colors too. And there will be every single detail of every car/truck/bike/quad/boat/thing I own.
Joes93Bronco 12-22-2006, 01:08 AM I personally really liked Derricks sig. but my wife was gettin kinda pissed cause after about a minute the seizures started and then she had to put the wooden spoon handle in my mouth to keep me from swallowing my tongue. Plus all the extra laundry from me pissing myself. TO much work for her.
jackhart 12-22-2006, 01:20 AM will - thank you for resizing your sig, while it is much better, may i suggest that no one really cares what you need to do to make your bko streetable in your sig - get rid of it. and why do you feel the need to post a link to an electric fan writeup in your sig????? c'mon man, that is just ridiculous.
Se7 - imo, it's still larger than it needs to be and is distracting, size it down a bit
jb - i think you have it just about right
broncocrazzy - still way too much in that sig, it's still freakin huge.

I knew you were out there somewhere Joe:beer
I'd quote this whole post, and make it my sig line, but It'd probably piss someone off:thumbup
Saurian 12-22-2006, 01:52 AM I didn't mind the signature. I'd stop and stare at it for a bit every time I'd catch it, trying to figure out what the heck it was.
Get Firefox and d/l the plugin "image block" if you really hate the images in sigs.
Personally I try and keep it this way......if I make a one line post I don't like having a sig that will stretch out the post box.
Broncocrazzy 12-22-2006, 09:41 AM broncocrazzy - still way too much in that sig, it's still freakin huge.

FSB---> :twak <---me
MidnightBlue302 12-26-2006, 02:34 PM i was told mine was too big, so i took out all my listed mods and made it simple. i do however, wish to keep my pic tho.
derrick36 12-26-2006, 02:42 PM Considering the new "rules"(or whatever you want to call them), the pic is probably still to big.
Davids78Bronco 12-26-2006, 03:20 PM Yes, it is too big, still. Please downsize it. Thank you
FordTruckMan 12-27-2006, 12:49 AM Is mine ok now? I don't think it's too long...
Froggmann 12-27-2006, 04:52 PM I've been arrested! AHHH!!!
Is this enough to bail me out?
bossind 12-27-2006, 09:01 PM In the admin tools in vBulletin you can set the size limit of the pics used in the signature, go into usergroups - usergroup manager select the group that all of us slackers reside in and edit these 3 fields:
-Signature Image Maximum Width (pixels)
-Signature Image Maximum Height (pixels)
-Signature Image Maximum Filesize (bytes)
And thats that.
bossind 12-27-2006, 09:04 PM Oh heres another option right above the 3 I just gave this one requires a yes or a no
-Can Upload Animated GIF for Signature
dsotmoon 12-27-2006, 09:15 PM And thats that.
those are already set but do not apply to members whos signatures surpassed them before that option was added into the software :thumbup

Oh I see, you would think it would remove the larger pics. How about disable pics all together which should kill eveyones pics and than turning it back on resulting in the new restrictions to take effect for everyone?

i would have to double check but i think you have to run a database query to do that
and, we're not going for hard and fast "rules" here, just some guidelines and the other mods & admins are doing a great job PMing those that maybe excessive
Davids78Bronco 01-25-2007, 11:30 PM Alright, folks, after much discussion, ideas, and suggestions, we've come up with the following, for setting guidelines, regarding a member's signature line -
members
allowed up to 3 pictures not to exceed 500x150 maximum
5 lines total allowed
500 character maximum
** this basically gives you 2 lines (test or links) , 1 quote (2 lined quote) and 1 picture 500x150
fullsize members
allowed up to 5 pictures not to exceed 600x150 maximum
8 lines total allowed
500 character maximum
** this basically gives you 3 lines (test or links) , 2 quotes (2 lined quote) and 1 picture 600x150
but the above gives the user the freedom of using their "lines" however they wish, no picture frees up a line, no quote can free up 1, 2 maybe 3 lines . Current users who exceed the above will find their sig lines edited, without notice (basically, we'll leave a note in the sig) and then the user is forced to the rules when they update it
Manual enforcement, of the signature lines, will begind Feb 1st
Iolaus 01-26-2007, 12:42 AM Do those 8 lines include spaces? I kinda' like my sig. I think choosing to put those particular quotes into it tells people a little something about me... which is what I always thought sig lines were for.
Manual enforcement, of the signature lines, will begind Feb 1st
so i need to make a large obnoxious sig before while i can still use it :goodfinge

so if spaces count... delete one blank line...
Tommy R 01-26-2007, 12:55 AM I, for one, like this new policy.
I'm Tommy R. And I endorse this message.
Davids78Bronco 01-26-2007, 01:41 AM Do those 8 lines include spaces?
Yours is fine, but barely
FTM - yours will need to be trimmed down, limiting the info you've listed for your rigs; ie, shorten it up a bit

mine's 7 lines i bieve...
Davids78Bronco 01-26-2007, 10:35 AM You're right, it is, but the reason I said to shorten it up, is because you have a small section, under your user name, to enter in all your Bronco's specs... titled Bronco info:
Dewars85 01-26-2007, 03:32 PM is mine fine

But if it's under the limit why do I need to shorten it. But I will. No big deal.
Davids78Bronco 01-26-2007, 04:34 PM is mine fine
Your text is fine, but your picture is over the limit, by 50 pixels high - you're at 200, needs to be at 150
reptillikus 01-26-2007, 04:41 PM But if it's under the limit why do I need to shorten it. But I will. No big deal.
Because the option is there to be used? :shrug Also because that info could be put into your 'Garage'. It doesnt really need to be in the sig line at all.
Me personally, id rather have that info listed under Bronco Info & My Garage anyway. Look at it this way- If so&so has sigs disabled, and i ask a question about my truck and forget to mention its an 88, theyll have no idea what year it is, or if ive already modded something or not.
Hopper 01-26-2007, 04:49 PM If I loose my kickass sig I am going to be pissed :goodfinge
Honestly, I wouldn't have one at all, but I really like this one. If I ever win FOTM I might make a slight change to it...
adrianspeeder 01-26-2007, 05:47 PM Seems fair.

is this better

ummm.. yeah but what you said proves that if so&so(B) has sigs enabled and you forget to mention it... It won't be in the sig anyway. And "noobies" (gayest word on the face of the planet...) won't know about your garage to check and see what it is...
Therefore... these long sig lines people are complaining about.... Get a cable modem....
Davids78Bronco 01-27-2007, 03:30 AM Please keep in mind all this has nothing to do with connection speed, or bandwidth, but everything to do with the sheer amount of space people are using. I, for one, am tired of scrolling through 400ft of a page, to read a few replies, when 70% of is all personal Bronco picture, and "done" & "to do" lists of parts. It's just unnecessary, and I know I'm not alone with this sentiment, thus our reason for, finally, putting a limit on the signature lines
Davids78Bronco 01-29-2007, 11:41 PM Alright, folks, starting the 1st, i'm going to start manually editing the aignature lines that are in conflict with our new rules - and not necessarily for the better, nor will I go out of my way to let everyone know - simply because I expect there to be alot of them. One other note to make, I'm not going on a manhunt over this, but rather will be doing the editing as I read/scroll thru threads, over the next several weeks
SO, please take this time to make sure your signature line falls within the guidelines of our rules, and make your changes accordingly
b0bj0e 01-30-2007, 02:30 PM Just shortened mine.
Bronco Rob 01-31-2007, 04:29 AM Good Job David, i am glad to see you're going to see you volunteering time to edit everyone's signature lines.....i know you don't have anything more important to do.

blackbronco92 02-10-2007, 12:25 AM Why the **** did my sig get edited again?!? I had a damn TINY sig banner on their, WAY smaller than everyone elses... WTF dude?!?
I had NO Quotes No Text, Nothing, just a damn small sig picture...
That's BS.
Davids78Bronco 02-10-2007, 12:50 AM Because the height of the picture was beyond our limits -
fullsize members
allowed up to 5 pictures not to exceed 600x150 maximum
8 lines total allowed
500 character maximum
Your picture was at 160

its not BS, if you have a problem with it you can PM me, the guidelines are pretty straight forward, no need to cuss and carry on, its a freaking signature, not the end of the world

I apologize, then. It just sucks when I have one of the smallest pictures on here and it gets edited...
Didn't mean to look like a dildo on here... just been a damn stressful week. I fixed my sig, sorry for being an ass.
Your picture was at 160
You deleted his sig over 10 pixels? You couldn't have just PMed him the new rules?
I don't know why this new thing has really rubbed me wrong. I understand the need for it, and I agree some of those sigs are way more than necessary, but I think just PMing the offenders with 12 videos and 14 pics in their sig would have solved the problem much better than making all of us pay for the over-the-top sig lines of a few. It's kinda like punishing the whole lot when just a few are responsible.
It kinda defeats the whole purpose of having a sig line if you aren't allowed enough room to personalize your "space" in the reply.
Davids78Bronco 02-11-2007, 08:32 PM We could just eliminate pictures altogether ... However, we know everyone likes to express themselves, about their Broncos. Unfortunately, it's also become apparent that we had to set the guidelines, because they were getting out of control. So, yes, I edited his picture for 10 pixels. If I let that go, I'd have to let the next one go, then the next one, then we'd be back to where we started from
if you were to delete mine without sending a pm first for it being a little over, i wouldnt be happy.
but then again, i dont see why this rule is hard to follow. its common sense, long sigs are annoying and gay. i really could care less what they say anyway. i just like the ones like mine and many other members, so if ive never met you atleast i can remember your rig and username.
ScottMoore 02-11-2007, 09:01 PM Mine will only let me have four lines. I try to add my name to the five line and it tells me I have to many.
Can anybody answer my question? As you can see my sig only has four lines counting the space and it will not let me add my name to the fifth line. It keeps saying I am going over 5 lines.:banghead
I understand cutting down the lines, but I am getting a little bothered when someone has one small pic that get edited and others (including one of the admin) have one of the biggest sig lines I have seen.
dsotmoon 02-11-2007, 09:37 PM Can anybody answer my question?
must be some kind of bug with the software, when i tried it would not take it the way you had it formatted with the three periods between the sentence, but with a comma it worked fine
I understand cutting down the lines, but I am getting a little bothered when someone has one small pic that get edited and others (including one of the admin) have one of the biggest sig lines I have seen.
they all will comply eventually, as David said we are doing them as we see them, have time
if you were to delete mine without sending a pm first for it being a little over, i wouldnt be happy.
thats ideal but in the end very time consuming, we gave notice they would be changed, without notice
ScottMoore 02-12-2007, 03:55 AM Thanks Joe for fixing it for me.:thumbup
If I let that go, I'd have to let the next one go, then the next one, then we'd be back to where we started from
I never said let it go...I just thought it was rather extreme to just up and delete it over 10 pixels. I'm sure he would have gladly changed it on his own had you just asked him in a PM. I know what it takes to edit/delete a sig line, it takes no longer to just shoot a PM to a member.
I understand the rules on the pic size and videos, I just think 8 damn lines is dumb. When depending on the size of my window the text is gonna wrap and appear to be 14-15 lines or more.
dsotmoon 02-12-2007, 11:10 PM I know what it takes to edit/delete a sig line, it takes no longer to just shoot a PM to a member.
.
and it may be a member who only signs on once a week, every few weeks, in months, then the sig is still there, we made an announcement that sigs would be deleted without notice as we got to them
dsotmoon 02-12-2007, 11:11 PM I I just think 8 damn lines is dumb.
so whats a good number?
bnkrtstk 02-13-2007, 08:36 AM I think eight lines is fine. I also think signatures should be limited to the size of an FOTM banner and that's not just because I have one. IMO David's sig is too big.
Gacknar 02-13-2007, 12:09 PM I unstacked mine to try and make it shorter.
None of us wanted to make this rule. Unfortunately an ever increasing number of sig lines where getting way to long. When PM'd about them, these people would use the following excuses to argue to keep there sig lines the length they had them at.
1. There is no set rule on siglin length/size/bandwidth.
2. People should get a faster connection.
3. People should reset there screen resolution.
4. People should get dual monitors.
5. People can turn off the sig line function and not see any of them.
The only one of those things that we can affect is # 1.
So now there is a rule
It's unfortunate that a set rule had to be established, but it did become necessary as a natural evolution of the board.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. :thumbup
P.S
My sigline is teh roxor :goodfinge :toothless
so whats a good number?
I don't think a "line" limit is needed. I didn't think the sig length problem was a problem with text, it's already limited by characters. The 500 character limit was fine, but counting it down to actual "lines" doesn't make a helluva lotta sense to me. Again, with the way text wraps for different size screens, how is it really making a difference? Call it at 500 characters and leave it at that.
bnkrtstk 02-13-2007, 07:58 PM Why is everyone so butt hurt over a limit on sig lines? Are they that important to some of you?

? :toothless
dsotmoon 02-13-2007, 08:06 PM so whats a good number?
Call it at 500 characters and leave it at that.
trust me Mel, we didnt come up with this just for shits and giggles and i respect and value your opinion, but just a 500 character limit doesnt work anymore, it doesnt matter that the text wraps, if there was no rule in place it could wrap to infinity, at least now its minimized, is the 5/8 line rule to strict? i dont think so, but it could be adjusted for the future who knows, but just a 500 character rule would literaly allow someone to make a 500 line sig with a single character in each, and eventually, someone would do it
if i were to go back and check the actual date in the admin forum it would be many months ago we started talking about sig lengths and sig images, we spent awhile PM'ing people or editing them, we were ignored, users put long sigs back, made pictures bigger and argued with us that there wasnt a rule so why were we picking on them, almost every decision that happens here is user driven, we're pushed to a point of a "rule" because alot of people wont listen to us or police themselves, its unfortunate, but its a fact

IMO, Tim's is the ideal size. (even though I just said I don't care...)
Who makes all the FOTM sigs anyway?
trust me Mel, we didnt come up with this just for shits and giggles.....
Alright, Joe. I won't push it anymore.

I just tried it, and it allowed the 5 lines this time.
reptillikus 02-17-2007, 01:02 AM Who makes all the FOTM sigs anyway?
Several different people. i know Marauder made a bunch as he made my FOTM banner. I made my FOTY banner cuz i was bored and had the time :toothless
I like the size of em, not too tall or wide; just enough room to squeeze in a couple pics, which is really all ya need. I cant stand huge sigs, im glad theyre gone. Atleast we get pics in our sigs, alot of forums i know of dont allow any pics in them at all anymore for these very problems. Id say this is a pretty good compromise.
amraam840 04-14-2007, 01:49 PM I made my first Sig Pic because I'm sooooo bored out of my skull. I had to make this one funny because it's too damn cold for me to do anything to the truck and I'm working on the days it's more than 50* outside. Lame.
If anyone thinks this pic needs resized, lemme know...
harleytech 04-15-2007, 09:33 PM how do u make a sig like thems?
-Spazmatic- 04-24-2007, 12:08 PM Photoshop....paint....photopaint....corelDRAW....e tc...
-Spazmatic- 04-24-2007, 12:14 PM David could you edit the first post to reflect the changes in terms of PIXELS? I really didn't feel like reading through everyone's bitching to find the rule..
also, is it not ok for me to have a 150x600 signature?
revamped 1990 07-26-2007, 03:48 AM Alright, folks, after much discussion, ideas, and suggestions, we've come up with the following, for setting guidelines, regarding a member's signature line -
members
allowed up to 3 pictures not to exceed 500x150 maximum

Something about Noob status I'm guessing.:histerica He has 9 posts and has not figured out how to navigate the forum yet. It is really quite simple, look for the area you think your thread will fit in the best. When you find that area go ahead and submit your thread and sit back and watch.
-Spazmatic- 07-31-2007, 01:53 AM I see my signature has been altered (again). Now we cannot use color or font size either?
Whoever edited my signature didn't even take off the trailing tags...could have at least finished it for me.
