No kidding. These threads on here saying "I raced a so and so and won" always make me laugh.

Overtaking a Honda to pass or cut them off does not constitute "street racing." Nor does jumping Grandma in her Lincoln Town Car at a red light and being ahead for 50 yards. Or when Barbie in her Escalade is on the phone and has no clue she's being passed by a Bronco losing chunks of dried mud does not in any way make a "race."

When you get up beside a Mustang with an unmistakable blower-whine, you give him a blip of your weak small block Flowmaster exhaust, so he looks over and gives a smirk and you wait for the light to drop, hammer down, hang off his quarter panel to the 60 foot mark, then watch his taillights pull farther away while thinking, oh yeah, I'm in a 6000 pound FOUR WHEEL DRIVE...then you can say you've raced, and lost.

I work on my reaction time every chance I get at red lights, and most often I make it to the other side of the intersection first....according to the stories here, I should be a friggin street racing champ!!

littledrumerboy
01-18-2007, 10:55 PM
yes, eveyone knew we were racing. My cousin's yota wasn't working right, som erandom old guy was looking at me in an intersection and reving his engine, and then my friend in his eclipse asked to race home from work, I never had a chance. But I beat the broken yota and grandpaw...

My old 69 Impala w/350 could take a Camero w/396 at 1/8 mi, after that I was toast. We had an 80' F250 4x4 w/400 that could do the same against a 70' Cougar w/429.

Moral of the story, small blocks wrap up quick, but there's no repacement for displacement :D

Maybe you could race the Mustang when theres snow on the ground, I think the 4 wheel drive would help haha...

I find this interesting as well being that my truck with 6" lift, 4.10s, 32" tires and a stock underpowered 300 could easily do 80+ (damn broken speedometer....)

for mels the 2 races i won was from a stop and also a 30mph roll so say what cha think thats a race and the other was just someone challenging me and then we both pounded the throttle. im sure most of everyone here talking about who they have raced was really a race not just pulling up to a barbie gril in her escalade and giving it gas...

Racing a Bronc against a car? :histerica

A little light-to-light action is fun if you're up against something that's at least competitively equal. However, I like getting lined up next to a mid-90's rusted-ass chebby truck with loud (broken or straightpipe POP-POP-POP!) exhaust. :toothless Silly chebby drivers...

I used to street race in the Mustang, but those days are behind me now. I'd like to stay alive and keep my license and car, thanks.

This town amazes me at times. 3 types of drivers here. The ricers, the 4x4s, and everyone else in between. A couple of buddies and I would be heading somewhere to eat, and happen to find a group of ricers parked somewhere. We'd usually all pull, rev up, and circle the group a few times... just to watch them get all antsy in their pantsy.

I've pulled a few ricers from a light.... well, wouldn't exactly call them ricers... just wanna be's. Just floor it all the way to the speed limit. It was a pathetic display on most of their parts, whether they pulled on me, or vice versa. If you can't blantantly outrun a bronco with a 6 in lift, 35s, stock gearing, and a severly worn out 351, then you might as well sell your crap box car and walk everywhere.

Me and my buddies will pull from a light occassionally. Proud to say the poor bronco will pull a buddy's 94 f-250 PSD (5 speed, 6 in lift, 35s, stock gearing)... but it shames me to be pulled by a 78 K-10 (6 in lift, 35s, 400 SB, regeared).

I run the truck every now and again, my avatar is from racing a Dodge Cummins up I-81. I'm pretty sure he knew he was racing, judging from the large amounts of black smoke emitting from his tailpipe. And yes I took that pic with my camera phone while running 100+ so:goodfinge

Every now and then I have to embarass ricer. I smoked a "pimped out" Cavalier the other day and I was weighing over 20k. I let out of it when I ran out of speedo, and of course he came buzzing by with his flashers on. There's something to brag about, I can here it now "Yo I blew the doors off this TURBO pickup yo!"

i had one street race in the bronco and lost miserably, but when you stomp on it at the green and the rear u-joint explodes and takes the driveshaft and yoke with it, you're probably gonna lose anyway. now with the lightning i'll go pay 20 bucks and race legally, much better than the 200 ticket and driving school (or costing my truck or my life or someone elses life)

If you had auto locking hubs you coulda thrown it in 4 and still beat those ricers, Now if you had manuel we forgive you.

not sure if this thread is retarded or pretty funny anyway might as well join in.

I have actually been too ****ing scared to race my bronco on pavement, it accelerates scarily fast with 39.5's on it but the suspension and steering are not made for high speed manuvers that is for sure. but we race our trucks and broncos all summer out on the sand here by the river.

Now my 1979 F150 4x4 Custom stock hieght with 285/75 R16 tires is another matter all together. After i dropped in the 460 that took me over a year to build (pics available) it easily sent the needle around the speedo and bounced on the peg on zero on the highway. I pull it out of storage once in a while to go play out on the cruise with the high schoolers, none of them ever seriously race so it is all in good fun. what i get a kick out of the most is using the twin stick and spinning the front tires a bit, stop then spin the back, then up into 4 high make all 4 spin and take off like a bat out of hell and laugh at the gawking looks. but the 8-10 MPG really sucks though.

Maelthra
01-26-2007, 08:07 AM
I don't race as much as I do stoplight drags. If someone looks cocky that they're gonna blow me away, I'll stomp on it off the light, and let off before it goes to far. No sense in rolling my bronco because some acura wanted to go faster.

That being said, I went to the track once with my bronco to race my buddy's Civic. I'm sure a 18-wheeler could pull a faster quarter mile than me.

I see nothing wrong with taking off hard from a light to see if you can beat a z71 with 2" duals and cherry bombs... I do have a problem with going sideways smoking your tires and going over the speed limit in a residential area- saying "go to the track" is all fine and dandy but those with 18 second broncos are probably not going to... SO, my point is DON'T be unsafe or stupid but a stoplight throwdown is not a big deal in the right circumstances... That said if I catch some 'tard driving unsafe around my family -I'll leave it to your imagination!

Not hardly. I have driven our 10 second drag car and spent every weekend at the dragstrip. I'm a drag racer first and a Bronco driver second.

I know the dangers involved. I know several kids from local high school killed when racing on the street and losing control. To even think about a high rate of speed in a 4WD Bronco that doesn't handle or stop like a car is foolish.

Yes, some people are ****in' tards when they first get their liscence. Let them make their own damn mistakes, let them sit in jail for a night or two for dangerous driving.

One time I was driving south on highway 99 just north of Fresno and my girlfriend wanted to ****...so I tilted the wheel all the way up and she undid my pants and whipped my cock out. Then she sucked me off for a minute and then sat on my dick. We ****ed like that for a few minutes (about as long as it takes) and then when she was getting off she hit her head on the rear view mirror and broke the whole thing off the windhsield. That pissed me off. I didn't talk to the ****in bitch untill we got to Bakersfield

Then something is wrong with it, y freewheeler would bury the speedometer with the same set up. When it was DD I could make the 55 mile commute to work in 50 minutes depending on traffic.

Dont doubt that, my motor is a lil tired, but again, I could have gone faster but didn't need to, and didn't have a tach in, now I have one in, but not wired up yet haha
